I'm so glad I got a 290. I've ridden bikes before and that was about 6-7 years ago and I was scared on flat at first but about 4 hours on it I'm now popping wheelies, jumping hills, bunny hops, wheelies up a hill and carrying on off, or to the side ect. Had a go up few rocks but need to master my flicks, can hold it up top though. Just cant get used to using my back brake and my front is harsh.
Flipped it and got some mud stick in the exhaust and broke rear mud guard off. Nothing 2 bigger washers hasnt fixed as thats where it broke off. hasnt knocked my confidence and only reasopn it happened was because i never, for the only time had my finger over the clutch to shut the power off and when I fell back abit I winded the throttle and it just left me.
Good fun but I ache now

You get what you pay for. I've seen 2002 Sherco's go for
-
For the price rtx t212's are gonig for on ebay you could get a more suitible and in my opinion better bike for the same amount of coin,
-
This.
Scruffy little b#####ds annoy me with just that metal attitude. We pay enough when we get robbed of taxes to feed their addictions and housing benefits never mind theiving for what is a few pence they'll gain from.

Good, I was paranoid about leaving the dregs in the bottom of the measurung cup but after reading that some people only put 62ml into 5 litres I'm not so worried now!
-
-
I got told and have mixed 10 litres up with 200ml of oil in. Is this far too much?
-
that will me 3000 litres. you dont want capasity, you want actual size measurements
-
Do measurements of the bikes sze and the capacity of the car. Should find both on the internet. Should get it in, but it will be awkward when your tired and the bikes muddy
-
I have the Strawberry one. Used to use it years ago. Smells gorgeous

So I got up at 6:30 this morning to start fitting my tow bar and rack so I could go pick my bike up after being up most of the night like christmas so exited. Took 4 hours to fit my tow bar due to having problems which involved me driving my car round to a local garage and being ripped off having a little welding done to secure a nut. Anyways, with all that sorted, I ring the guy up and ask him to throw in a pair of gloves with the deal if i bring it in cash, he agrees and off I go on my journey.
All the way there, the smile on my face... In my head I was thinking "last stretch, soon you'll be on a bike". Got there to be greeted with, "Want the good news or the bad news?" I asked for the good first. He replied, "Good is its outside, bad is it wont idle". I thought great, I have
-
Just drill it out and put a new one in. Might be a long process which requires a few drill bits but that what i;ve always done when I've snapped/sheared rusty bolts on cars
-
2005 Sherco 290. Bought it from a shop. Go pick it up tomorrow. Got it for
-
Looks like its more control and technique than speed.. And that van must have good brakes!
Looks like he gets it higher here
-
I ended up purchasing a full set which included the ball and electrics, Just to make sure.

I'm hopefully picking a bike up on friday and I'm in a rush to get a tow bar as I can lend a trailer for now but my eyes are on a dave cooper rack for future reference. What sort of mounting is it that they use? From what i understand, you dont need a tow ball as it bolts to where the tow ball usually bolts to.
Would this do? And would I need extra support brackets as though I'm pulling a trailer due to alot of weight being over the bracket?

**********
Nothing much, contacted Dave? And he explained what I needed and suplied me with added extras just to make sure I wasnt lookign around for stuff once I recieved my tow bar and rack.
-
I want a bike with enough power to do stuff but not enough that if I wind it too much while going up stuff Ill flip it
-
Would this be suitable for me? I've heard gas gas aint that good for begginners as they have quite alot of power, and I'd like to consider myself a begginner as I havnt been on a bike for some time and dont know what I'm capable of.

Nah, I took your advice and decided to wait and not rush into buying a shed

I want a 4x4 as my everyday car too, which is why a van would be pointless as I dont want to used a van as a daily and have no space to occupy 2 vehicles. Think I'll have to get a tow car for now and pull a trailer, that way once I get a 4x4, the trailer can just go onto that.
Thanks for your responces people
-
I currently own a citroen saxo. I'm thinknig of saving up for a 4x4 but until that time comes, I need something to transport my bike (when i buy it) to its destination. Would I be able to get a bike rack for a saxo? Or better to just get a tow bar and trailer? What sort of expense would I be looking at? I live in the north east so that guy down kent who does quality trailers wouldnt be much use to me

Yeah, thats why I said a decent 2002. The place Is an old shale tip, called Kilton Shale, next to a place called Kilton Thorpe. My friends dad used to own a farmers house right next to it. All the land you see is private, including the paths. We had permission to use it, and daily spent all our time in landrovers, cheap cars and our bikes just playing hide and seek or trying to get up new things. its a brilliant place but unfortunately my friends dad moved out a few years ago, and therefore going there now would involve a risk, but one I am willing to take! I can also go up to charltons at guisbrough which is rather local.
I've always had a negative look towards Gas Gas, considering both of my friends frames split and had to be welded up. The reliability on them seems abit poor from my personal view, although I could be wrong and would like to be stood corrected as they do seem an alright bike. I had a look at the beta rev3, and it looks abit heavy from watching a few videos of people on them.
