  1. Hello mate,

    cheers tom,

  2. Hello mate, please see this link, this gear is the nuts. its about 25 quid for the kit, but does what it says on the tin. www.aluminiumrepair.com If your a little handy its quite simple to do. Cheers, Tom,
  3. Hi, Got mine from ebay from this guy Member ID p-k-n ( Feedback score of 46123) .was 20 quid. didnt need a press to push the bearing on. stick it on yer wifes cooker, if its gas and warm it up. i used a piece of tube cut to the correct length and slipped it over the yoke stem, then wound the steel head nut on untill it pushed the bearing into place.dont forget the original bottom cap needs to go on first. i did *@** Miles better than the original bearings. Hope it helps. Tom, PS it was 20 quid for the complete set top and bottom
  4. Hi Kelvin, My tank is the aluminium type, so i didnt experience the bubbling, Kreaming the tank is a good idea, but expensive, there are cheaper alternatives, have a search around on the web, i recall spotting an alternative treatment on a marine/boat repairers site that was about 20 quid. might be worth a punt. A lot cheaper than 100 or so quid for a new polycarb one. cheers, tom,
  5. Hello mate, Nothing wrong with being the on the other side of 50, i also am a born again dabber and loving it, misses dont understand, but then "she dont ride"!!!! leave the youngsters to do their stuff and enjoy, welcome back. Tom,
  6. Hi Kelvin, Did you spray the tank with fuel in it? what paint did you use? it is best sprayed with an acrilic two pack. but that said i used a spay can from Halfords for my Bully and it turned out really well (see pics on my profile) mind you it was a really hot day when i sprayed my bike which helps. Halfords also do a clear laquer that is impervious to petrol, i found that it came out of the can a little dry and required a little flatting off but seemed to do the trick. Hope this has helped Kind regards, Tom,
  7. Hi, Nice bike. Novel way to spray a bike, but effective. have you thought about Betor Shocks, you can get them in the uk for about
  8. Save yer money and get as new as you can, i spent a small fortune restoring my old twin shock, then tried a newer bike and the difference is miles apart. the newer bikes are more robust as well.
  9. Have you tried riding in heels? it dont half kill yer calf muscles, ha ha. Fair play to yer mate, my misses didnt catch me using her oven for me powder coating.
  10. Hi, I have a 2004 and have been told that there are subtle changes with the rev3 model range, but. you could go to the Beta uk web site, they have a FAQ's page. the info you require maybe in there.
  11. Hello mate, If you click on the garage tab on the main page tool bar, you will see a box on your left of the page, click on "add bike" then follow instructions. Hope this helps. Regards, Tom,
  12. Cheers Mate, It would be pushing it to the upper limet, sorry forgot to mention that vehicle is a combo van. the tow bars i have seen listed would need to be tweaked a little to make them stronger. its looking very much the trailer route. regards, tom,
  13. Hey Mike, Fair play to you, 67 and back on the pegs, i am a born again dabber. I can highly recommend the Beta what ever the cc. i have a 270 and find it very usable, but i suppose its how much you twist your right hand. Cheers, Tom,
  14. blimey mate, with the rider more like a 1000kg ha ha. seriously thanks for the info, i think that 95kg's is just within the towbars nose weight limit.
  15. Hi, wondering if anyone can help, i am thinking of fitting a tow bar on my vehicle for a bike rack but need to know the wieght of a 198A Bully, i thought about 140kg??????????????????
  16. Oh Mate, best thing i did was get back into trials after nearly 25 odd years. just got a newer bike, so so so different to my 1980 Bultaco. so easy to control. Mind you, the power delivery is a lot different as well. My misses nearly wet herself as i narrowly missed wheeleying through the niehbours fence. where abouts are you based? kind regards, Tom,

    Sherpa Project

Hi Chris, Just finished a resto on a Bultaco, very much in the same sort of condition. the wheels posed a bit of problem, rusty spokes but sound. rubbed them down and sprayed them black, linings were a little flakey but stop the bike ok. i have seen original ally tanks go for around 50 quid on ebay. whats the external measurement of the rubbers, i maybe able to let you have some, have a few old shocks kicking around. drop me a line. good luck
  18. Chewy, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
