  1. The bike had only had 3 hours use so it's as new. I think he had ridden the Gasser and it felt better engine wise. He quite likes the Sherco suspension wise but it's just lacking power on the bigger stuff. Thanks for everyones input.
  2. I hadnt thought about the front pipe, thanks. What size of rear sprocket would you recommend ?
  3. My son has just got an 125, he has been used to riding a Evo 200cc for last 9 months. He feels the bike has a real lack of power compared his 200cc and to 125cc Gasser's he has had a shot off. An example 3rd gear hill, lack of power at the top the Sherco dies if you were to come off throttle then back on (requires a handfull of throttle and ping of the clutch). The same hill on Gasser you can come off throttle and back on with out it dying on you. We can fully understand the difference between engine sizes but are the different manufacturers really going to make much difference. Could some people just prefer the power delivery of a Gasser or would it be the bikes just set up differently. Would a High Compression Head and change Jets make much difference. I know some say change Carbs but on the flip side they require a lot more maintenance so probably prefer to stick with stock Carb. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Sorry, but...

Your a Dickhead Nobody buys a Gasser.
  5. There was remaining bolt left in that could have been sealed up for the day. He got a shot of a another bike for today but if there wasn't a spare bike we would have gone down this route. Tonight though we drilled a hole in the middle of remaining bolt tapped a Torx in and unscrewed it. I was thinking it was engine strip down job so thanks to you all for your advice. You saved me a fortune.
  6. Has anyone ever snapped the 10mm sump drain bolt, I hand tightened it them gave it a nip with racket and it's snapped, stuck in and half way down the thread. Any idea's. Young lads was going to be using it in a trial tomorrow so you can imagine how p****d off he is.
  7. I had a problem with the a 2011 Evo , explained the problem over the phone, next day they sent a new stator free of charge. Was quite amazed at there service and how helpful they were on the phone.
  8. No other rider even came close to completing that.
  9. Class of his own last night. I thought the skips were amazing, nice bit of show boating going in one backwards to get his line.
  10. Your perfect for going to the Montrose Club trials, if your just starting out there easy enough and a good laugh and nothing to serious. Ideal for starting out, Raga for your first bike. Have Fun.

    Spark plug

I believe the 7 is fine if your in Spain etc but the U.K the 5 works best , thats what Beta U.K. told me when i questioned it,I would think they know best.
  12. Has anyone used it if so on what bike and what colour did you go for. Pics would be nice.
  13. Glad your bike ran well today Steve , any other technical problems.
  14. I never said it was my kid, but Clarky's kid did it aswell. But credit due to you , you did spend a hell of a lot of time teaching the kids in the beginning and if it wasnt for you they would probably still playing doing wheelies So in a strange way you should be proud.
  15. So in your experience would you say the rider (TheDBF) is ***** and it's not the bike. Best thing was the kid borrowed his bike and did it first time. ( think the kids aged about 10 )
  16. So can we say when Kids are managing things on 200cc You on your 290 and with you having the better bike it should have been easier than the kids. Just about But No Your Pure Pish
  17. I'm with Pindie had a 250 gas gas and bought a Beta Evo 200 my sons snaffled it but perfect bike in good or bad riders hands. Heard Sherco were doing a 200 but ormplus might be able to correct me , so give you couple of options.

    2011 Evo

Phoned Beta UK today after unplugging kill switch didn't work, they said it sounded like the stator, a free one is in the post along with an aftermarket kill switch. They said to try the Stator but if it isn't that give them a phone back. Quite amazed at how helpful they are and it was them who mentioned Stator and replacing under warranty .

To rule it out is it just a matter of unplugging it.

    2011 Evo

Would that not give no spark rather than a weak spark ? I had thought of that yesterday but never got around to by passing it.

    2011 Evo

My son has a Evo 2011 about 6 month old cut out twice yesterday , 1st time got it going again 2nd time no joy. At one point no spark. Cleaned carb , stator , New plug but only getting a weak spark and won't fire up. Any idea's surely can't be a Stator on a 6 month old bike.
