  1. Can anyone tell me how much gear box oil you put in my 2015 Beta evo 250 for just an oil change, can't find the amount anywhere ! think its 550ml from dry but 450ml for a change ,can anybody confirm that please.
  2. Hi, just had the same problem with my 2012 GG 250, rebound adjuster on the forks made no difference full hard or soft, stripped them down tonight to find metal fragments in the shim stack holding the shims open ! also had metal bits in the brake fluids, this is a new bike with less than 20 hours on it, Having had Jap MX & road bikes all my life ( must have owned upwards of 40 bikes in my time, ) never have I seen such poor build quality & thats saying something having owned a KTM ! the Spanish biuld quality is crap ! not just GG but the Sherco I had was as bad !

    2012 Formula

Just changed the oil on my Formula brake & clutch system & they were very dirty, the bike has only done 5 hours from new, have heard stories of them coming from the factory with metal partickles in the oil from the maufacturing process, thats why I changed it but in all fairness there was no bits in mine, just very black oil.

    2012 Formula

The way the levers are designed means they only need one adjuster, when you see one in the flesh you will see why. They do work very well.

    2012 Formula

Mine has just blown the rear caliper seals on my third time on the bike yesterday from new, les than 5 hours riding Having said that, they worked great, just hope this isn't the shape of things to come !
  8. Hi mate, I also have a 250 txt pro 2005,I run mine on Putoline TT trials pro @ 80:1. thats 63 ml of oil to 5 litres of petrol. never had a problem , trials bike engines dont need the volume of oil in the petrol that a moto x engine does. 80:1 is what GasGas recommends.
  9. Hi, I have a txt pro 2005, clutch on mine was a little heavey compared to newer bikes. I fitted a 2006 bevel spring ( this is the clutch spring ) & it did make it lighter to pull in.
  10. Thanks for input guys,I'm not interested in a 4t, never rode one so not about to buy one, Montesa are way over priced, Rode a beta, don't like um.For me only interested in the Sherco or the GasGas,both have pro's & con's.My son has a 2005 GG txt pro, 7 years old & apart from wear & tear she still rides well,my Sherco has been very reliable in the time I've had it,I supose it's going to come down to which one looks the best to me
  11. OK guys , who has bought a new 2012 250cc Gas Gas or Sherco, I want to get one but unsure which one to go for, have a 2011 Sherco 290 at the moment but after 5 months of riding it I feel a 250 suits me better, not been able to blag a go on either model yet so I was wondering what the people who have them think of them, good or bad ? I am over 40 rider doing yellow route trials so no expert, I know a new bike wont make me a better rider but I do seem to spend too much time controlling the power rather than riding the bike if you know what I mean, your thoughts would be very welcome,
  12. Do you not use it now if it's in the garage ?
  13. As the title says, has anyone done it ? were the results worth it ? while my bike aint bad, it aint running as well as it could & i am sick of messing with the carb, your thoughts please.

    290 carb setup

Stripped the carb to check jetting, seems the last owner has made some changes going by the std setup in the manual. Std jet in the book are , main #128 pilot #33 needle clip 2ond + 1 clip 0.5 ( this is the exact wording in the manuel, not clear to me . ) float hight 21mm. ( not sure of the exact point you measure ) My findings are, main #126, pilot #36 needle 3rd clip ( middle with the small spacer washer on top ) float hight 19mm ( if measuring from the "o" ring face on the carb body to the tip of the levers with the carb up side down is the right place to measure ? ) The last owner did tell me he had an S3 head on it but took it off to sell it, he also said he had not changed anything ! On the subject of head spacers the one I fitted works really well,it just takes the sharpness away when you open the gas, it has no adverse affects on the mid & top end power that I can tell, rode a trial on it last week end & it was definatly easier to ride on the real slow stuff, just dulling the power in a suttle way. It's not night & day different but anything that makes riding the bike easier is good in my opinion.

    290 carb setup

Thanks for that, i was thinking of swapping it for a keihin that the 2012 come with as std, but don't want to go to those lengths if I can get this one to work

    290 carb setup

Has anybody changed the jetting from std, can't seem to get mine to run clean, done all the checks, air filter, crank seals etc, but it still runs very rich, I am running a semi synthetic oil at 70:1 at the moment, was running a full syn oil, tried that at 80:1 & 100:1 but still really rich, that's when I changed to a semi, what are you guys using ?
  19. Hi, clutch must have a mineral based cluth/brake fluid in it or the seals wont last, gear box have ATF, personally I use a BP product in the clutch & Silkoline ATF in my gearbox on my 2005 Gasser, hope this helps
  20. Ive taken the tyre off now, although my rim has no leaks or damage I suspect it is part of the problem,I've fitted the IRC to my Gas Gas which is also a Morad rim the same as the Sherco but it stays up & seems fine, refitted my old Michelin back on my sherco & that stays up & also fine with no leaks. It does'nt make sence, maybe the Sherco rim is a bit smaller ? why would one tyre work but another make not ? only thing I do know is i will not be buying another IRC , it has cost me far more than the
  21. Thats the problem, it does'nt leak !I've had the wheel completely submerged and it does not loose any air from anywhere. ride it, then it goes down, if it was "simple" I would have sorted it long ago !
  22. well rode the bike with the other new tyre on, fitted by Leasure Trail using a Putoline rim sealing compound, gave it 48 hours at 20 psi before I rode it as the guy who fitted it suggested & guess what, 20 minutes & it's flat . I can't beleive that it could be a second tyre faulty, but it does not go down until you ride it.Going to put my old Mich back on today & see what happens, this is realy doing my head in now.Friend of mine with the same bike has bought an IRC & has had no problems, only difference is I have the Morad rear rim & he has the DID, must be the Morad rims ?
  23. well took my wheel back to the shop where i got the tyre from today, Leisure Trail in Long Eaton & credit where credit is due, after a little discussion they agreed to removed it from my wheel & fitted a new one free of charge, many thanks guys, we will see how I get on with it, I really hope that sorts it as the tyre did work quite well.
