Does anyone know what type of Norton sliders are used to make the trick forks?
  2. I would disagree on the welding, I have inserted a bush into the swing-arm (see pic) even if they were butt welded I would be surprised if it did fail as most of the stress is transmitted though the shocks the swing arm acts more like a control arm than on a modern mono-shock bike (but I’m not the best welder!) I have worked many years as an Automotive prototype engineer / quality engineer, after serving a technical engineering apprenticeship so I would hope my work would be satisfactory But I would agree its not worth the time making parts, if you don’t have a CNC machine. But I’m in the process of buying one I’m sure you would agree most of the fun is making your own parts, I find it very satisfying
  3. I’m now in the process of making my hubs and yokes, yokes are nearly finished just need to make the spindle and bar risers It’s taking a little longer than planed as don’t seem to have a lot of time at the moment (wifes just had a baby!) I will post some pics of the hubs soon
  4. thanks

Does anyone know what the part numbers are for the main bearings on a c15 (side points model)?
  6. The easiest until you feel confident to move up If you ride a route too hard, you won’t enjoy your first trial (trust me, I speak from experience)
  7. Look like Matchless's to me (G3L?)
  8. when I’m riding the stand keeps coming down, think I’m catching it with my heel? Does anyone else have a problem?
  9. Have a look at: http://www.pjme.co.uk/ They did some work for me awhile ago
  10. If you are referring to premix oil, sounds like you have done some nasty damage Are we talking two stroke oil or gearbox oil???????????????
  11. Does anyone have the part number (or sizes) of the taper roller bearings for converting the tiger cub / Bantam headstocks?
  12. Its on ---------------------------------------------- Don't ever have paypal for a payment, all they have to do is quiry the payment with there card company and they get the money back !?!?!?! We got stung at work for £400
  13. sold my bike on ebay a few days ago, I’ve not heard a thing from the winning bidder Whats the point of bidding on an item if you have no intention of paying!
  14. The clutch on my beamish sticks when started from cold, I had another beamish years ago and that did the same (both silver engine Beamish’s) they work fine once warmed up I’ve tried all types of oil without success, is this the norm?
  15. I purchased a set of NJB for my beamish and the seem very good, service was great too (I also here that falcon shocks are also very good)
  16. The only I don’t understand is it must have a SORN, all the bikes I have are off-road and have never been registered Do any do insurance for non-road bikes?
  17. Does anyone know if you can get insurance for classic off-road bike, I’ve a couple now and I’m a bit worried about them getting pinched?
  18. I had a set from NJB for my Suzuki, I must say he also offers a very good service and shocks Just like the sound of £100 for a bantam I’m building
  19. Wear from, I'm after some shocks
  20. I’ve not go that far yet, I only started this project about a week ago I was planning to use a 4” tyre
  21. The arm is actually a sports cub (they are wider than the standard cub arm), even though the bike is a bantam! I will measure it up for you With the bushes its very strong, I made them a press fit in the tube. Plus don’t forget that most of the load is transmitted though the shocks to the sub-frame, the swing-arm is more for control (like a radius-arm / wishbone on a car)

Yes, you may be right 6061 is better But the alloy I had was slightly to small in diameter, so I’m going to make some patterns and cast a set in LM25
  23. Its mig welded, I cleaned the weld to make it look neat I made some bushes to go in the tube to add strength
