  1. Very nice indeed, you would never guess it started out as a lowly Reflex..
  2. OK, If I read the site right, that stuff is "real" fuel.....where as the sh*t we buy at the pump has been cut with more cheep sh*t chemicals to spin out the good stuff. As a comparison, it's like you coke dealer cutting the product with talcom powder!!! As usual, joe public is been taken to the cleaners.
  3. Here we go, I took the bike down the river for a play at some sections, got a few pictures before it got all dirty!!!! It's acctualy metalic green and silver, kinda looks white in the piccies. What's also not obvious ,is the silver on the seat side panels is aluminium stuck on to the fiberglass, thought this might be good as it's where my boots rub. If I was any good at panel beating, I would have made the alloy go around the sticky out bit that goes around the top shock mounts too....but alas I ain't that good.
  4. Every man and his dog has red..white ...and or blue, wanted something different.
  5. Ok, finaly managed to get the last stage of the revamp done.....tank and seat. piccies are a bit crap, i'll take some out side at the weekend.
  6. Dude, I hope that was spoken in jest, as your deriding Kramit's skills at building something different....and building it well. Will agree with you though, that if it was mine I would trim the rear guard down.
  7. Hey tel, hope the bike stays quiet, but if you do split the cases at some point, I think some bearings are available with slightly different fit tolerances, so you may be able to get one which 'takes up the slack' a bit
  8. That looks like an Amal MK 1 1/2 carb, with enrichment plunger. Not sure if the pilot jet in these is 'fixed' like the MK 1's or removeable....but the MK 1's are famous for blocking the pilot jet if left unused for some time.
  9. Sh*t Charlie....and there was me thinking you were Psycic...LOL
  10. Not 100 % certain, but sure I heared that DR 200 suzuki pistons also can be made to work, and take you out to 230 cc.
  11. Well done indeed, that was a tricky section.
  12. Hi Ross, I just took off the tank, seat, cables and electrics, then did the cut and bend with everything else there, that way I could check wheel alighnment and also that front wheel/guard would miss front frame tube on fork compression. Once I'd got plates tacked in top tube, I stripped it down to frame only and did all the rest of the welding. I did measure wheel base before I started....but like a dick I forgot to right it down....it measures 50-5/8 inch now (1285mm),factory wheelbase quoted as 1315mm. Hi Joe, I've had the bike about a year now, but had a whole bunch of sh*t to sort out with it and was too busy for a good while to do much with it.I was quite suprised how easy the reach to the brake pedal is now, though I'm a size 10....I'm wearing size 12 boots!!!!! so that's gotta be helping LOL. Cheers Trev.
  13. Hi, I removed the steering lockstop plate at the bottom of the steering head as it was all bent up allowing the forks to hit the tank. I then cut right through the top tube about an inch back from the steering head and then warmed the tube that runs down to the front of the motor. This let me move the front wheel back untill it 'looked right', and it had opened up the cut in the top tube to about 6mm.Welded some steel into the gap, refitted a strengthened lock stop plate and job done.Recon it steepened things up by about 2 degrees, steers great around the garden....will be trials riding tommorow.
  14. Ok, here's a few pictures of my effort.Steering tweeked, footrests moved, and some new shockies , bars and levers and some new cables, are the latest additions, plus frame repaint....only brushed so not blemish free, but much better than it was. Just got to do tank and seat paint when I get time. Hoping to get to the trial tommorow to see how she rides.
  15. I don't think the mufflers on trials bikes are toooooo critical, just look at some pictures of the wierd and wonderfull stuff that folks come up with on there trials bikes, i would say don't put too much baffling in that it would strangle it.
  16. Is there not a level on the dip stick.....who gives a f*ck how much it takes , just fill to the level....but for the record it will be just over a litre at a guess.
  17. "There must be something about TLR riders and expats. I used to live in Pocklington but moved to the land of the long white cloud 12 years ago. In my local club there are other expats riding TLR's as well:-)" Hi Andy, I used to live near Malton on the A64 Scarborough road, used to ride Bultaco's back in the day, but enjoying the 4 strikes now. followed the link to the picture of your bike...very nice indeed. Was it a big job getting the black paint off the motor? Cheers, Trev.
  18. LOL, just thought he was after a ready built 2 stroke with a Villiers motor, and it might be worth considering.
  19. John Bull at Rockshocks does the DOT replicas, which are a James with a different badge , and they are very nicely made...no idea how much though.
  20. your on to it....that cracked me up
  21. I've always wondered.....why the DEP sticker on the silencer is always on the 'wrong' side?
  22. Wow, that's quite a bit...there's me thinking an inch would be too much, thanks Joe.
  23. Broony, that picture is just waaaaay too small, sharpen you act up man, and post something we can see...LOL
  24. Hey joe, where you going with that gun in your hand, do do do doooo doooooooo. ok, enough of the jimmy hendrix....just wondering how far back/down you moved your footpegs, got mine stripped and thinking of shifting them....already tucked the steering in a couple of degrees.
