Are they any good at stopping crap getting in there in the first place then?

Anyone know where I can get one of those blanking plates that sits on top of the AJP calipers to stop crud etc getting in from please?

I've just sealed my rim band with a product called "PRC", its used to seal (among other things) fuel tanks in the aircraft industry. It remians slightly flexible, it has to as wings tend to flex in flight. I sealed around the rim tape and not the spokes. I should stil be able to tighten the spokes.

I trialed (excuse the pun!) a tool bag in a simliar style to ishys at the Pollock a few weeks ago. It was a pouch containing everything I could ever need. I straped it to the bike with a road bike cargo net, it worked a treat!

I don't think you'll get much info then, knowing how tight BJ is with the drinks!

I put a new rim tape on my wheel, it seemed to work ok and held pressure for a while. I then took it to a trial where it worked fine for a few hours.... Then failed! After removing the tyre it seems that the tape popped out from the recess in the wheel Looks like I shall be sealing the tape next time. I fancy just sealing the tape to the wheel, leaving the nipples alone. I figure that a bead of sealent aound the tape (in the area around the wheel recess) should seal the tape. If the tape's sealed then the nipples should be fine? Slightly off topic, why don't all the manufacture's do away with the traditional spoked wheel and use the syle that Montesa has adopted? Seems much better to me. Granted, they seem to suffer from snapped spokes more than normal wheels but they're easy to change too.

Interesting comment about the oil, I was always lead to believe that lubing the throttle was abad idea. Attracts dirt etc.

The bike will be three years old this August. I've never changed the trottle grip, just changed the other side once after the end ripped. Never need to clean the throttle, so I've not cleaned it... Ever. Top tip, never let go of the bars unless you really need to. It saves the bike getting trashed on a fall, especially the grips!

I would say if you are going up Tuesday then try to get to Whitches too. Big rock step that can throw up some interesting rides. Also, whilst not great in terms of action, the parade day on Sunday is fun, seeing 270 bikes ride up Ft William High St is a sight you don't see often, well, apart from once a year! You can also stick your nose around whats going on in Parc Ferme too, might be able to pick up a bargain and if you've got kids they might enjoy getting close to the bikes and some of the more famous riders.

Don't want more zip, it runs sweet as it is, not zippy at all. Its a white throttle for sure, I was just surprised to find that out. I expected it to be a black one by the way the power was delivered.

Hi all, I noticed on my SY that the Domino throttle seems to be white (there's a small cut on the grip so I can't say for sure), this is the faster throttle, right? Seems strange though because the bike is not what I would call "zippy" as would be expected with the faster acting throttle. I'm I right in assuming that the SY's are fitted with a fast throttle from new then?

One for all in the UK. I had to replace some hex head bolts on the SY, there not that easy to get hold of. I used a company called Inox, I can highly recommend them.

I think the swingarm protectors from the Techno fit the Rev with, might need a bit of a trim though. I saw a Rev 3 fitted with them at last years SSDT.

I've used only two brand's of rear, Michelin's and IRC's. I would say, for most riders, you won't tell the differance between the two as long as you've got the pressure right etc. However, as has been said, an IRC last's and last's. Read this post.

The above post by coflet is exactly what both myself and neonsurge have suggested should be avoided. We all know that we can "grey import" bikes, thats what knocked the hell out of road bike prices. Problem is, and this has been mentioned, this site is supported by many of the importers, thats what makes it free. They might not be so keen to carry on if they know that TC is inadvertently promoting backdoor grey imports.

A blind hole is, AFAIK, a tapped and threaded hole that a bolt screws in to. There is no access to the bottom of the bolt.
