Back Cowm is in Whitworth near Rochdale.

And what's wrong with Skunthorpe (spelling changed to avoid S****horpe) . Sorry Matthew Jones - I've tried editing but still can't get it to post.

I for one will be there. I went up when Lampkin beat Jarvis in 2002 in the final round and saw some very impressive riding. Just hope the weather improves
I have copied (hope this is OK Andy) the ACU press release below. The event kicks off at 11.00 but the first lap takes ages; then you can't keep up with them. It's worth taking a mountain bike to get around if your legs will take it
A.C.U. House, Rugby, PRESS RELEASE 24-10-2004.
The Rochdale Motor Cycle Club again have the honour of staging the penultimate round of the Colin Appleyard A.C.U. 2004 British Motor Cycle Trials championship at Back Cowm Quarries, Whitworth on Sunday, October 3, commencing at 11.00am
Current British Champion Graham Jarvis heads the championship entry list having missed the opening events because of world trial commitments. He has scored forty points and cannot retain his title which must go to Charnock teenage electrician Shaun Morris or Isle of Man veteran Steve Colley. Showman, and extrovert, Colley, a real spectator favourite, who heads the standings one point ahead of Morris. Colley has immense Back Cowm experience experience but Shaun Morris has the youth, the attacking ability, and he is current European Junior champion and has ridden all world trials this season. And the Charnock rider wants the title.
Londoner Sam Connor is back after a shoulder injury and with MRS Sherco team colleague Jarvis could sway the title destination.
The major threat could come from eighteen year old James Dabill who has shot to international fame in three months since joining Italian trials team T.T.T. Beta. He rides in Italy and has been taken by Top Trials Team Beta, the only British rider, apart from Jarvis and Dougie Lampkin, to enjoy mainland Europe sponsorship.

He fitted the kit himself without any changes to carb or timing. The beauty of the kit is that you only need to remove the top of the head. Adding bottom gaskets is a bigger strip down. The only "difficult" part of the job was draining and refilling the radiator.
Speak to Gas Gas and they'll tell you exactly what you need to do.

The oil capacity of the Pinky was 800cc and it was stamped on the side of the clutch casing just behind the kickstart. This is the total amount and, for periodic change, the manual recommends 750cc.
The manual also gives a basic weight for the Pinky (with oil and fuel) of 87Kg (191.8lb).

The Gas Gas kit is a machined spacer and an extra o-ring to fit in the top of the cylinder - not an extra gasket. I have an 03 280 Pro without the spacer and a mate has a spacer fitted. There is a noticeable difference between the two bikes. The spacer makes starting easier and has also softened the power delivery.

How about one of these:

Perhaps we should all badger Michelin to make one that runs at 4-5 PSI

So were France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Iceland, Norway......

I'd consider a camera with an optical zoom if possible - it looks like the camera you mention has a fixed lens. The 37mm equivalent is fine if you are close to the action but not so good if your'e some distance and want more than just the scenery. All digital cameras will have digital zoom but this just reduces the quality of the picture.

I made up a tool for my old TY250 Pinky and I guess this will be the same.
The damper rod is fixed to the bottom of the fork with an allen key that you can get to from the bottom of the fork but you'll probably not be able to shift it. You need to unscrew the damper rod from inside the fork using the damper rod holder tool which is basically a 22mm nut on the end of a long t-bar.

I am that fellow lurker but, sadly, I can't make the trial this weekend. Good ride out on Wednesday night though. Good luck if you ride on Sunday.
Wonder how many people on here can relate your location to your real home town (other than us locals).

I had similar from a bike I had for sale on a web site. The guy was supposedly going to ship a bike worth

It all depends on the method of marking, and this should be specified in the regs for the trial. TSR22A allows a stop but TSR22B is non-stop.
The full set of rules are in the ACU handbook, pages 132-134, for both methods of marking and are fairly easy to understand. The on-line cartoon refers to the TSR22A method and so far all of the trials I have entered have used this method.

I've had problems with the engine not running too well a couple of times after using supermarket petrol. I now always use Shell Optimax and have no problems. It may be slightly more expensive than regular unleaded but filling a 5 litre container doesn't cost that much.
By the way, I still use the cheap supermarket stuff in the company car; the difference is - it isn't my engine

The link below has the parts book for the 2001 model in PDF format. Sadly they don't have the 2000 model listed but I guess much of it will be the same (or very similar)
