  1. Ya, RITC man. Hey Ron. Its Dan I won't speak for ritc. It was the decision of the club and I won't try to explain it. Like I said, next year will be better... @I get 125s now. thanks for the info everyone edit: sitting with these ideas I start to see the sense in them. And I'm kinda thinking to myself, "stupid" for posting in emotion before.
  2. Definatly get the sammy miller TY footpegs. Those stock ones are just useless! Other than that, I think the TY came with reeds anyways. Put a good carb on it and put modern trials tires on it. Also remove the oil tank under the seat and make it so you just premix your fuel to save some lbs... Other than that, well it prolly gets a big more expensive. But I like the stuff that amos did to his. Sounds like an awesome bike, but really modern. Does it meet vintage rules? @ Gawd, I hope you aren't using that club foot silencer on it, please tell me your talking about the header/midmuffler...
  3. Hmm, 2 stroke is not the fad anymore, 4 strokers are too large and slow witted... Gas Gas in a revolution of motorcycle design makes the first 3 stroke engine combining the best of both worlds. lol The 4 stroke GGer will prolly resemble the sherco 4t. Same frame sorta with the new engine in it. And minor changes here and there to reflect the characteristics of the bike.
  4. Leave it as it is. If its not broken don't fix it. Yet again, I want to know why "youts" are supposed to be on 1 2 5 s?
  5. I wondered why this organization was formed. I thought the NATC could solve its own problems, but apparently not. lol I have a feeling that this year may feel short and unfullfilling, but next year we can hopefully have more events etc... Why do people want the youths or youts on 125s? Develop throttle control is one thing I heard. But if you ride a bigger bike from the start you will be accustomed to it... right?
  6. I think next year will see a surge of clubs wanting to do nationals. Just a predicition, but for some reason, clubs are burnt out from locals and other stuff. So maybe this will be the slow year and next year will be better, we never know.

    Ty125

They have Ty125s? I thought it was only the 80s, 175s, 250s and 350s... For older ones that is. But any Ty is a good choice, lighter than most bikes, good engine, good ergos... Bad point: philips screws very popular with Yamaha when they made the TYs
  8. Wow, did I get shot down. There is no way I'm going to argue with you guys when fifty of you jump down my throat on common knowledge. Its staring you in the face. And yet I know an american can get there, it'll just be tougher. I know people like Adam Raga ride just about every day for at least 4 hours. He trains at the gym in the morning and rides 11 monthes out of the year. See I do know something... Actually I may argue this out. Why not... edit: Why did I have to get you guys off topic like this. Lets talk about the national series.
  9. Dunno why I'm a defeatist when I say that. Its true. The Europeans just put more into it since its a bigger deal over there than over here. I'm all for another american winning it. Sorry about b!tching in the last post, it was late...
  10. I don't understand these new classes. What was wrong with what was there? Most of this coming year's HS riders are going to be in or on the edge of junior class. And those of us who were in the top HS positions are going to ES. What is the point of HS doing ES lines? Go to ES to do ES lines! Why do we have to make more classes? And women's too, I'm all for having a women's class, but I don't see the need to split these things up. We have enough classes as is, and taking away sen 30 doesnt mean we can add 3-4 classes. Ridiculous... As for engine sizes and such, you're saying I have to sell my 05 to ride the nationals and buy a 125? No. The system is fine as it is. The reason the Europeans are better is because they nurture/train the crap out of/practice harder stuff then us. @the series: This is going to be fun... I have to get out of school and work for those april ones and Tennessee. Why couldn't the TTC do a 2 day national with the youth national? And make better use of the junior class? I remember when they did an adult national with a youth national and I thought it was great, but instead I have to miss work, school, and go down there twice. At least the western ones can be flown too. And NY is close... sigh... edit: Schools are much tougher nowadays on tardys and absences. I can see why some places need to do nationals earlier, but please, think of the future riders. @Vermont: Awesome event. A little on the easy side, but fun nonetheless. And the weather was sweet. CAn't wait for the next event, national or local.
  11. I think you should wire the grips. Always keeps mine from moving. Or try Moving the bars to the right in there clamps a little bit, so you don't have to cut the bar. Actually, I don't know if that's the right thing to do... You said your right arm was stronger right? So go to the gym and pump some iron with the left.

    Ty 80

Hey, I got a 74 ty250 in the works. Will be ready soonish, and put on Ebay. I remember when I rode a Ty80 before the modern trials bikes for kids, that ty had more snap than many 80s and 50s, but lacked in the suspension area. Still a blast to ride.

    Exhaust ...

My seat/airbox stickers are starting to peel badly, if I keep my 05 for 06, I'm gonna customize it. Rip stickers off and try to black stuff out. It'll look cool, I'll see how creative I can get. Can I use spraypaint on the GG plastics if I put a cleaner on their first? What about certain partso of the frame...? I got some new ideas while I'm stuck inside during winter. kewl

    Exhaust ...

Yea the joy of owning a GG. lol Awesome machine, light, powerful, great flickable bike. But gotta love the fit and finish! lol not! Wish they would make fit and finish/ergonomics better. Then the bike would be perfect. Also I heard for 06 we have an all aluminum fork, not sure if its the sliders or what, but saw it in Trials Comp ad. Dad said its pretty sketchy to have aluminum there...
  15. Boost power button? How about nitro? Hit the button and pfffff, rev it up and watch the bike explode in accleration as you go flying over that 7 foot splatter... That'd be cool, but that 450 would be awfully heavy.
  16. One of my friends at a trial showed me a big packet he got. It looked like an EPA/DEM enviro govt agency letter stating that he had been destroying the enviroment and such, and listed a bunch of other crap offenses. It stated they had satillites, air photos, and other evidnce to support these accusations. It looked like an official document and sounded like he would have to stop riding trials in his yard. A few more pages of govt stuff then on the back it has a big ole full page ad for a new 4T Monty!(enviro friendly....) Was all a big ad joke, rather funny, but those first few pages would scare the crap outta me. Anyone else heard of this?

    Exhaust ...

Yea, my midmuffler broke. After trying not to lift my bike by the muffler and preserving it in crashes, it enivitably gave in and started crcking around the silencer mount. But I had it rewelded for $10. Also it has reinforced welds and a block thing on there now so hopefully it won't break. Is this common on 05 GGs? My dad just ordered a steel midmuffler, we'll see how that works out.

    Sidecar Trials

Cool. I haven't heard of any events, but I can say I've been the "monkey" on a Fantic 200 trials sidecar. That was scary, fun, and awesome all at the same time.

    Neta Event

You know its a two day right? Also it might rain buckets and buckets. Some sort of broken up tropical storm is taking over the east coast. But I'm not sure if it will reach where we'll be.

    Neta Event

Yea, I'm going. I remember from last year it was rocky/muddy/swampy/sandy/shaley... So basically, it has everything and expect it to be cold.
  21. I've heard stuff like that too, some 2ts(not just GG) have exhaust systems that equal or get "better" emissions. Not sure how that's possible, since the four stroke does not let any unburned fuel out the exhaust port like a two stroke. Maybe we have to replace some filter thing on the new 2strokes to keep them up with 4ts "cleaniliness". I'd do anything to not be forced onto a 4t.

    Gas Gas Gearlever

I bent mine out and left it. I liked the solidness of it being out so far. Then later this season I bent it back into position. Funny how that works. And they are easily heated up and pushed back into position.
