    Carb Questions

Had something almost the same at the last trial I was at. Thought I would have to call it a day before the start. Turned the fuel cock to reserve and that cured it ? Worth a try
  2. Glad to see that I did not get the wooden spoon !!!! Thanks to all at the club and especially to the observers for putting on a crackin trial.
  3. Well I have searched and waited and I can not find the results from rd 2 of the IDMCC championship Does anyone have the results ? not that I want to see if I won just to see how near the bottom I came !!!
  4. Best looking bike by far. Nice to ride and plenty of grunt. Only down side is that the lump is wide and doing any work requires major strip down to get access, ask boofont !!!! Oh, it has amazing traction/grip too.
  5. Lived ther for 4 years and was involved in the trials scene so here is the scoop with trials in Espa
  6. Stuck a new Dunlop rear on for the last club trial at Woodside and was well impressed with the grip it had. Ran it near 0 psi and it was great. Not many rocky sections there but what we did have it worked fine. as far as the wear rate, well it still looks new after one outing
  7. Just did mine again and gave the bike a good clean down. Sprayed the filter with 'Fairy Power Spary? you know the stuff for cooked on crap in your pot. Then hot water, worked a bloody treat, then used it to clean the bike. Much cheaper than the bike shop spray cleaners !!!! and leaves it smelling lovely
  8. I used Motul and thought it was ok until I put PJ1 clutch tuner in, what a difference. Don't think I will go back to Motul !
  9. Yes you should use a filter oil, it helps catch the crap that could block your carb. Most makes offer one, I have not found one to be btter than another. Once you have cleaned out the filter with soap and water! and let it dry, put it in a plastic bag with some of the filter oil, rub it into the filter from the clean out side of the bag! once it is all oiled up put the filter in a clean dry bag and squeeze excess oil out of it. then fit back into the bike. With the 2 bag method you should be able to do it withot getting to much oil on you or the workshop floor !
  10. Billy, About 12 years back I used to live in the Glasgow area, well to the west and I was a member of the Stevenson and Dist. MCC. They are/were a good club mainly doing trials. Get them on the SACU site, contact I think is still Norry Lamont ?
  11. You will love the 290 but I think that it will take time for you to get used to the rear shock as the cota is far better than the 290, other than that you will realise it is a fantastic bike. Good luck with it.
  12. The height all depnds on whether you are going to to be sitting at it on a stool or standing at it. If you plan to sit (as I would) you need to take your seated height as the main factor as to the stand height. It would need to be a min. of 20" to be comfy at.
  13. Used mine for the first time at the weekend to get my old heavy beta to a trial and is great. Couple of straps and you are away. It does look well dodgey at first but works a treat. Quick and easy to put on and the bike is on and off in seconds. Just watch out for narrow gaps you drive thru as the bike overflies the car and both sides !! Get the longer bolts when you order as it saves the hassle of tracking them down locally
  14. Spot on ishy, watched a lad at our last club trial a*** about trying to do all the fancy stuff just to fall off !! As you say, do it the old fashioned way and if the odd need arises, hop it or what ever. Indoor has a lot to do with this I think, they see loads of trick riding and think that is what you do. Stick to, pop the clutch and hang on for dear life, if your lucky you make it to the end!!!
  15. Great fun at Cannich even with the weather :santa1: Thanks to boofont and monty for the welcome and guiding round the laps. Also a big cheers to all at I&DMCC for setting it out. for the record I went round for 57, quite chuffed as it was my first trial for 12 years ! see you on the 4th
  16. Sounds as though it will be a good trial although the forecast sucks for Sunday. Spoke to Coppers today and my rack will not make in time but think if I take th back seats out of my jeep it might go in !!! So if you see a guy with a crappy Techno hanging out a jeep it is I !!! about to do my first 'real' trial for 12 years Hope to see you all on Sunday
  17. Hey Boofont, thanks for the offer, I'll post if I get the rack or an offer of a lift. No you don't know me as I have just moved to Inverness from Marbella ! but have posted many times on the 'other' site . Cheers Graham
