  1. What a great idea by beta! Mine lasted a trial then i took it off and stamped up & down on it? I was washing bike after 1st outing & knocked bike forward & it fell on its side snapping clutch lever off! Could be worst though my brother grabbed hold of a 2011 evo in showroom & did the same & dropped it LOL!

  2. Yep they do tend to catch wheel check mount bracket is ok! Take mudguard off and make sure it aint cracked! I had a couple snap on me on my old 06 rev3. You can get new bracket and silencer from john lampkins beta importers silsden! I dont think silencer is cheap though.

  3. Hi all! Just noticed tonight when i removed spark plug to check condition of spark plug there is a steel insert in cyl head is this for plug to screw into or a cyl head insert to alter compression i have seen s3 inserts on steve saunders sxs site?

  4. silicone spray but mind dont go near the brakes.

    I was told remove flywheel cover to let magneto dry out.Clean chain & lube.And give electrics a spray with wd40. Remove air filter & clean & reoil.And give every nut & bolt the once over too make sure there tight.
  5. Totaly rebuilt engine new seals, gaskets, split crank new rod, rebore and piston.Made sure i sealed crankcase halfs with a decent sealer as there is no gasket.Im a totaly at a loss and thinking a need a new carb as idle is all over the spot surely a air leak would not give me a sooty plug?

  6. Is the crankcase seal itself ok. Certainly sounds like a lack of compression

    I have sprayed all crankcase with carb cleaner while engine is runing and no difference to engine speed. crank seals are genuine yam will check compresion what sort of reading should i see.Also i have been checking plug and im getting a sooty black plug so im thinking its running too rich if i had a air leak like crank seals surely plug would show this?

Hi all having problems with getting a ty80 to run right.it will ony start if pilot screw is all the way in or you give it choke? once you get it to run it wont idle right revs stay up and it just dies or sometimes it slowly returns to idle. so far i have fit all new jets new slide taken carb off about 20 times double checked everything and blown carb out also tried moving needle clip up and down but no difference.any help please its doing my head in. :beer:

  8. The problem is i never used 1st gear on my rev3 found it too low. Now i have a new bike its taking alot to get my head round using it and finding 2nd too high and i only use it for blasts uphill. More Bike time needed i think to get used to it. Anyway loving that smooth 290 power delivery and not even tryed flicking the magic switch over yet. :beer:

  9. I should give it a bit longer as its only 3rd time out on it! it just seems that in 2nd im just doing stuff to fast and not in control. And if i try to go slow in 2nd it feels like its going stall! and yep snow as nearly all gone here.

Managed to get out today for a play on bike after all the s--t weather!i have noticed that 2nd gear feels like im in 3rd gear and 1st just seems to slow its like i need a gear in the middle of these! on my old 06 250rev3 i used 2nd for just about anything. anyone noticed this or played around with sprocket sizes?

  11. Hi all how can you tell if you have the latest 2011 forks? had my new evo for 3 weeks now and never took much notice of forks other than setting them up for me. last beta i had was a 06 rev3 and forks all looked the same?

  12. Hi have you tryed clutch mod as posted at top of forum? I used pj1 in my rev3 but it didnt seem to last long before becoming diff to find neutral and gears notchy! I then switched to atf fluid and had no bother after that. I use ford auto box fluid which costs about

  13. Not too bothered at the moment but 1st new bike since a bought my 06 rev3 and then you read posts about problems!Really im a big kid who cant wait for new toy! and its taken a lot of begging to the wife!
