Mikuni carbs on betas are prone to leaking you need to make sure float valve aint sticking and i would recomend doing carb drilling mods! as for your forks there is allen key bolt that as a oring on it you will need to remove wheel spindle and you will see the bolt up through the hole in base of forks hope this helps!
Does any one know what is happening last i heard is that yeadon & guisley are the only ones with rights to host trials there is this true or not and how many trials do they plan on having! I know that they cancelled there club trial in january! will they be hosting the mackenzie trial there! I have loads of questions but never get a answer this place was great for practicing and us local silsdeners who just want to ride on our local spot dont get a look in! not all of us want to ride trials events! some of us like a day out just enjoying ourselves riding our bikes without competing against others!
Try altering and keep having a look at the plug this will tell you which way is lean or rich! black for rich light brown for lean! Any way when we out on them!
Sounds like to me its running 2 rich if plug is black sooty try altering air srew or moving needle jet up or down a notch or try setting float height it could be flooding! Have you done carb drilling mod as this makes a hell of diference to how it runs and stops it p***ing fuel out! at the end of the day your looking for a nice brown plug hope this helps!
Stripped engine today and found a hole in crankcase i dont reckon it should be there? looks like some retard as drilled the hole out where the gear selector return spring holder bolt type thing sits in have a look at photos of bike i reckon i have got my hands on a right pile of sh-t!my photos
Hi everybody im new to this forum & have just managed to get hold of a ty 80 project! and would like some info from you ty guys? first of all i would like to know the year of it the frame number is 451-111131 and engine is 451-108-190 should the numbers be the same? any info would be great and would love to hear from anyone else who is restoring a ty 80?
cheers barrybaines but i have never been a fan of on&off gear as the last set of shirt and pants didnt seem to last 5 mins are jitsie doing the gear that brown is using! or what was the gear that dibbs was wearing a whille back?
Anyone know where i can buy some top trial team beta clothing as my other half her indoors as offered to buy me for christmas! or should i say i will be buying it myself as she is allways in my wallet!
Great to hear about yeadon & guisley club putting pressure on the planning department! about time this problem was resolved? As the venue is a great place to host trials & practise. I have been up rough holden a lot and you soon get bored of the same old rocks and hill climbs! Adingham moorside or the nab as we call it us silsdeners? is great place & you never get bored as there is allways something else to test your riding skills after all thats why yeadon & guisley hold the mackenzie trial there.
I was thinking the same! I live in silsden & heard nothing! Im thinking that in 2 months it will be open again under the 14 day rule & that will be good news to have a british championhip event there again!
Sounds like its siezed in to me! it should just push out the swinging arm bolt! try plenty of wd40 and leaving it to soak in then try turning bolt with a allen key!
Beta do a conrod kit that comes with rod+ big end bearing & pin + thrust washers all for about 100 quid! take your main bearings to a bearing shop and get them matched up as beta ones aint cheap! and get crank seals +full gasket kit from beta!
I know that suspension is a topic often talked about, but I just can't find a straight answer to the problems I'm having.
The forks on my 06 are leaking on both sides, I understand that the fork seals were replaced relatively recently, but I think that the coating on the stanchions may need redoing, not sure it it matters too much to be honest, it isn't scored, just wearing.
But, anyway, could anybody give me a brief guide to stripping completely the forks and rebuilding them, how much work is it, will I be able to do it with basic tools?
No need for too much detail, I expect that when it comes to it common sense will apply itself, but I am a little unsure of where to start. I am considering sending them off to be done properly.
Thanks,
Bob
Have a look on ryp sherco site im sure there is file on there you can download showing you how to strip + rebuild paoili forks!
Hi everyone i need to change my handlebars as i had a big off today and bent them! I was thinking of getting some higher bend bars as i allways seem to be bent over handlebars and it does not help my back! What are all you rev3 riders using? Im about 6foot tall and allways seem to have back ache after riding!
Split cases and have a look at selector forks and selector drum! My old techno i rebuilt the engine on i notiticed that the selector drum was worn where selector forks sit in it and this could cause gear changes to be difficult! or selector drum bearings collapsed! or forks worn or bent or gears worn!where do you want me to stop! hope this aint put you of mxmann,
