  1. Hi all how many folk have ordered a new 2011 evo and are waitng for them? I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and are still waiting. I read a post about beta where having trouble with fork suppliers is there any truth in this!

  2. the Ilkley grand national is not only similar it runs over much of the route used by the pre war Scott. the lap of the moors has lately been reduced to about 8 niles but after 3 laps and a couple of hours you wont fancy anymore. it was famous for the bogs but again over the years they have been avoided but its still a cracking do..

  3. Right i have been given the go ahead for a new bike from boss i mean wife! I want a new 2011 evo but which one? Is the 290 a handfull or should i stick with a 250. Are they hard work to control and tire you out riding them.Or are they more tame had a 270 rev 3 a few years ago and found it hard work!

  4. Hi there had same problem a few years back with my 97 techno when i pulled linkage off all bearings fell in bits loads of rusty bearing rollers fell out! I think in the end i replaced all of the bearings including swingarm bearings cost about 100 quid and took a few hours to do!Make sure you pack all new bearings with a good waterproof grease!

  5. Stick with it go over carb again making sure you aint missed owt! failing that you can get a new carb as these little ty80 carbs can wear slide then their a pig to get to idle right. i have just restored one it cost a small fortune new carb slide jets foat valve still was a tw.t to get to run right in the end bought new carb.runs sweet now!

  6. Do bigend split crank while your there! once did mains on a techno then a few rides later bigend let go! cost me another set of bearings and gaskets! all betas have a clutch rattley noise!

  7. I had the same problem. took it off and warmed up and bent it back out of way! but then bent it again. Then the chain wearded it so thin it snapped at the start of a trial. i hadnt even got to 1st section typical luck i have!

  8. just fit new stator and bike fired up 1st kick so sorted just 136 quid lighter! Tested new stator with metre and got 320 ohms across red and black wires and o.1 ohms on yellow and brown to earth on stator body.

  9. thats what i was thinking a coil of wiring between red & black wires thats all it is for ignition. looked at stator and brown wire is soldered to body of stator so is earth! and yellow wire goes through over 3 coils to earth. tryed red & black wires on continutiy bleeper on multimetre & and got nothing! so new stator it is.

  10. right just removed flywheel & stator. was shocked with how much mud & crud was in there! i woundnt mind but i have allways removed cover after washing bike & left it to dry out! i have tested stator at wires and im seeing about 32m ohms between red & black wires ignition wires! brown wire goes straight to earth 0.01 ohms not tested yellow wire as this is for fan lights horn etc. fan was working before bike died with no spark! what do you think to my readings?
