  1. Stu, Top Fun do a PWK for the Beta, recommend one anyday, over the Dellorto. http://www.topfun.com/eng/doc/indexweb.asp
  2. Highly recommend one, have fitted over forty to bikes ,and not one complaint. Always comments on how smooth bottom end is ,and much more top end.
  3. opdeweeg, Sorry, but just realised your running this on a 300. Have had a lot of experiance with them on Sherco 290`s, but the 300 will probably like a bit more fuel. 45 pilot and JJH needle will be a richer setup, than what I recommended. What level of rider are you, as the type of power delivery can be taylored from, electric smooth for Clubman, to punchy for A Grade.
  4. Dellorto pilot screw adjusts fuel , the KeiHin adjusts air. The more you wind it in the less air , so the richer it gets. Should run between 1/2 to 1 1/2 turns out. The hunting your getting is lean, so when you lifted the needle that has richened up the bottom end. There`s no "perfect "pilot, needle, main, setup for all conditions. Every altitude and temperature change will affect the mixture. Thats why they make so many different Needles, jets, and slides. Recommend you chat with someone in your area with one ,and try their settings. I`m running a 42 pilot, 110 main and JJJ needle, might be a good starting point for you if you`ve got nothing else. Here is a chart showing how much affects up to half throttle.!!!!! My WebpageURL][
  5. Nigel, Know this is a bit pointless, but Hondas debut of the 4T was at the Japanese round, and the minders had them at the Swiss. Factory word is that the 06 Sherco is to be a totally new bike, so expecting the riders to swap part season ???????
  6. Doug ,Fuji, and Mark all rode their 2T`s right up till the last event ,then spent the off season with the new model.Don`t see why you would expect Albert and Graham to switch bikes part way through the season ?
  7. Webmonkey, Mine blew oil out when overfull, within five minutes of riding easy warmup sections. Recommend you measure the quantity in a beaker, rather than filling it by the sight glass. If that`s how you did it ? Think there`s too much room for error. Mine has had a dozen rides since with plenty of fith gear floggings ,and not a drop out the breather. You won`t have a glazed bore.
  8. Webmonkey, Had a customers 4t fill the air box aswell ,when fuel was left on. This can only be due to a faulty float needle, which seems to be a random problem on some.or if the overflow tube that links the two drain ports, is above the rubber inlet manifold, or blocked. Noticed Paxau is doing PWK`s. Might be worth a chat. Ishy, we can get the same range plug here ,but only with the solid tip. So it`s either change the plug cap or machine down the tip and put a 4mm thread on. Did the latter ,while waiting for order from factory.
  9. It`s definately Julien, that does the backflip. Saw him do it a couple of times, at the Swiss world round last year. Set up on a cobble stone street in the middle of town, and let loose.
  10. Just viewed ,and Raga puts on a display at what looked like the Gas Gas Chrissy party. Does a demo hopping from rock to rock without letting front wheel come down, impressive !!!! Then does exactly the same with front end of bike removed. Worth getting ,just for this display. Beyond belief.
  11. I`ve had the same thing happen, due to assuming all the oil comes out when you remove the filter ,and lean the bike over. Not so, there`s still a couple of hundred mill left in ,and that comes out the 6mm drain bolt ,as per the 2T.
  12. Arun, Sounds like your well on top of it !!! Assume your going to be replacing the crank seals, aswell ? If not, I`d recommend you do. If you are, Good. Don`t want to sound smart assed as I`ve no grasp of your mechanical knowledge, so if I`m telling you how to suck eggs, just let me know.
  13. Webmonkey, The oil out the breather is because there`s too much oil in it. You definately have to remove the 6mm screw under the countershaft sprocket as per the 2T, and an extra couple of hundred mill comes out, even after you`ve taken out the filter, which is right next to it.
  14. OOps, Just re- read your post, and to undo the primary gear drive you can also use the flywheel locking tool. It`s just a piece of bar with two 6mm pins, that fit into the matching holes on the flywheel.
  15. Arun 1664, The proper tool is a copy of a clutch plate, it locks the inner ond outer basket together, while undoing the centre nut. A rattle gun will also undo it. Don`t go jamming screwdrivers and bars into the thing, or you`ll end up snapping bits off. Your also going to need a flywheel puller, a flywheel locking tool, and have a tension wrench for re-assembly. Have a good read ,and understand the manual before you go any further, as once you get into the gearbox, things are a bit more complicated.
  16. Don`t worry about the clutch rattle, it`s just the straight cut gears on the end of the crank, and the clutch basket that get a resonance at idle. Load the clutch up in gear and it will go away. 03 to 05 have damper rubbers between the clutch gear and basket that stop this noise. Recommend you replace the water pump seals and shaft, but check if yours has a 1 mm hole in the front of the water pump engine case first, this is a signal hole, so if the seals have gone, some water will be coming out of it. Seal and shaft replacement is about a half hour job. Wouldn`t hurt to take the head off ,and de-carbon the head, and crown of the piston.Did an 00 and 01 recently and they had a fair build up . You`ll need new O-Rings to re assemble though. Bullet proof bike though, I`m sure you`ll enjoy it.
  17. Sorry for the confusion, I meant rider classes. Here we run Expert, A ,B, C ,Greybeards on C line over 40, Masters on B line over 35, Clubman, Junior on clubman line,Junior on C line, Mini and matching Ladies classes. Sure I`ve missed a few as well. So you can see why I wonder what the rest of the world are doing ?
  18. Interested to see how many grades other countries run. Im in Australia, and we seem to run a varied set of grades in every state. Like to know what others are using, especially for the Juniors
  19. 3 x Revell Big Blocks @ Moto Central....!!!! Not often we're late for a trial!
  20. Ishy, Nice lookin pickup, we haven`t seen those in Oz yet, probably wont, as we miss out on all the good stuff. Is it four wheel drive ??
  21. TrialRfun, It runs a 454 Chev, or 7.4 litres with all the go gear. Its a 1948 Chev, the only original part is the cab, and thats had a 6" chop, the rest is fibreglass on a homemade chassis.
  22. Ishy, here`s a pic of my other toy, this ones got a mother of an oil pump. Piece of crap to get into Trials sites though. Wonder what Mr Honda RS knows about these.!!!!!!!!My pickup
  23. Honda RS, How can you say this stuff , again !!!! Think your confused between slipper type ,white metal bearings that require large oil pressure to keep a film between them and the crank journal. And roller bearings, as per the two stroke, that requires a whisp of oil in the fuel to survive. Sherco put a 4T top on a 2T bottom end ,the oil required for the bottom end is seperate ,and being a roller type bearing requires no oil pressure as per the 2T.
  24. Hey Ishy, Make sure its got an oil pump !!!!!!!!!
  25. Ishy, Yeah I`m starting to think your right.!!!! Just annoys me that people will start believing some of these assumptions, from people that believe anything later than a Tiger Cub, is high tech. And god forbid, no oil pump !!!! it`s got to explode the first time you ride it.!!!!!!And as for the new Scorpa, with that dual exhaust, your going to need mining rights to get all the mud out of that !!!!! They DO test these things fellas, FOR YEARS. Downunder. The cam chain carries oil to the top end, and is thrown off onto a baffle plate that covers all the valve gear and rockers. It`s a roller cam so there`s far less load on the lobes as per flat tappet systems and less oil shear.I feel that a mist of oil would keep it alive. Run mine now for several outings and only changed one shim and that was by 1 thou. So there`s no sign of valve recession or rocker wear. As for those that say that it cant survive without an oil pump, your wrong. OH but don`t go pulling the pump out of your Tiger Cub, as that`s a DIFFERENT DESIGN and it will blow up.
