  1. Is that the bike or you that is still in shape? Nice bike.
  2. Dave, I will have a look at the original return springs later to see if they could be made fit the new pegs, seen as the return spring is mounted on the bolt and not in the middle of the peg it may be possible.
  3. Very nice smack, I like the before and after pics of the montesa and have always been a fan of the TL's.
  4. Hi, did you ever find any one local that could paint the tank/seat unit? Will be looking for some one my self shortly.
  5. Have not heard that one for years, need to try it when i am in Dundee next time.
  6. Always liked Frankie Boyle.
  7. Hi guy's, looking to buy new shocks and wondered if any one uses the Sammy Miler pro shocks? If you do your feedback would be appreciated, also what spring weight do you have if like me you are 14-15 stone(95kg in new money)? Thanks in advance. John.
  8. Forks rebuild for me tomorrow, all stripped, cleaned and polished, just had to get the fork oil this evening.
  9. Yes i did along with new front and rear wheel bearings, fork oil seals and the swing arm bolt.
  10. I just got my wheels back last night with the new tyres fitted. Lovely sticky rubber so i am told.
  11. Steve, i have the same washer but it is not as thick looking as your one looks, i would be more inclined to think that your barrel has been swapped out at some point. Yes keep posting the rebuild pics, as you will have seen i have just started mine.
  12. Rather than start a new thread i will just post up on this one with the rebuild projects, seen as all us cota 247 owners have a shared interest. Here is the newly powder coated frame with yolks fitted and the new S3 pegs fitted, the pegs fitted with a little grinding to the original peg mounts and a little shaving of the alloy pegs.
  13. Hi Steve, had a look just now and there is no spacer, all flush fitting from engine mounts to frame mounts, I did wonder if some one has changed the barrel on your bike at some point. If you take your spacer out would the engine move across enough to give you the room that you need to fit the collar? and would the rest of your mounts line up? John.
  14. Some thing looks off there steve, here is two pics of my one, i seem to have a good enough space to undo the collar with out fouling the down tube. Hope this helps. cheers John.
  15. As long as you are happy mate that is all that counts. Enjoy it.
  16. Hi ridelimousin and welcome, did you go to see the gas gas?
  17. Hi farmerdan and welcome, like you said this is a great site for all things trials.
  18. Great to hear that Mags, I have two girls my self, 14 and 12, both express a interest in the trials bikes, will be looking for a 125 for them after xmas. My wife has ridden road bikes for the last 20 years, her favourite one being her old GPZ900!, she has also got a eye on one of the montesa 247's.
  19. Hi Wobbler, fitted the tapered bearings today and offered up some S3 foot pegs to see how they may fit.
  20. Keep tuned in Mags as that is my intention, pictures will follow as it progresses.
  21. Just been given some S3 pegs to try to see if the could be made fit, good news is that it looks positive that they can be adapted. Here is the frame sitting beside bike number two.
  22. Thanks Wobbler, will modify the second bike foot pegs as i have just got the first frame back from the powder coaters, I believe that kawasaki kdx200 pegs fit the existing brackets with a little grinding. I hope.
  23. John - I'll try to post those footpegs mounts tomorrow. Cheers The Wobbler Thanks Wobbler, getting the frame back from the powder coaters tomorrow so will be getting the rebuild on the go asap. John.
