  1. anyone having starting difficulty ? I've fitted a low comp insert in the head = less effort to kick over but mine still takes on average 3 kicks to fire up ? andy
  2. i think it may do to suit my sh*t riding style ! i have a slow throttle which helps but just a little more help would be good. its probably not going to happen as the flywheel is an inverted type , so is not easy to bolt one on !
  3. Having bought a trs recently and previously having a jotagas the clutch is harder on the trs , now wether this is due to my trs being new and the jotagas being 2 1/2 yrs old I don't know , it's basically the same design as a jotagas , I may swop the bel vile washer ( which provides the tension in the clutch ) if it's the same as the jotagas , and see how that feels. Was struggling at the weekend with the bite point being very close to bars , so it took a lot a lot of pulling in to clear , maybe me getting tired ? Not sure .
  4. anyone of you good Fellowes fitted a flywheel weight to a 250 trs , can you fit one ?? had a peek behind my cover and it looks a bit special in there cheers andy
  5. Sorry should say ..... Would not recoup the xtra you paid
  6. Trs on a purely financial basis as the beta is full of bling that an average rider will not find beneficial to his riding and when you come to sell on you wound recoup the xtra you paid for it ! ( speaks from experience ) and I think the trs will be a better bike !

  9. Hi , anyone got a wiring diagram for a 2014 250 please ? Ta ! Andy
  10. ok so i thought id solved this ,but no. whilst doing the hillsbrough trial yesterday , riding through deep water , then out onto the bank side the engine splutters , coughs and dies. a few kicks later and with no throttle on she fires up , ticks over but if you rev she dies again, let her tick over for a min and all is well , I've sealed up the boot from carb to air box with silicone , all jubilee clips are tight so don't think its getting in there , the air intake is quite high up under the frame so don't think its getting in there , I've siliconed up the air box lid , could it be the carb breather pipes ?? don't know ?? anyone else have this problem ?? 2014 jtg 250 andy
  11. i use solvol autosol ( paste chrome cleaner) tear off strips of cloth and wrap round the pipe , pull to and fro to work it in , let it dry and repeat with clean strip of cloth .done !
  12. anyone seen an aftermarket side stand bracket for sale ? sure i have somewhere but can't remember where and now i need one !!
  13. hurrah !! sense has prevailed , sent all the paperwork back to dvla with a covering letter from me explaining that its a trials bike etc and the importer has registered numerous bikes of this make and others with no problems , and awaited the brown letter of doom or not ! today a shiny new log book turned up !! so all done , I'm legal now , thanks to sarah saunders for the v55/4 , cert of newness and andy @ pennine trialsport for their dealer stamp.
  14. Whilst in conversation with steve Saunders about my registration woes , see other post, I mentioned to him about the severity of the power and kicking in and spinning up the rear wheel in snotty conditions especially on hills and was there any way of calming it down , I already have the low comp insert , flywheel weight and slow throttle , he suggested fitting a redd block spacer to improve the torque level. As per his advice I fitted said spacer , when I removed the reed block I found that at the factory hadn't screwed the reed petal and movement restricter all the way home so these two items were loose ! I suppose worst case scenario these could have broke due to vibration and been swallowed up ! It appears that the holes for the self taper screws weren't big enough to let the screw seat fully tight , I didn't have a drill the right size so just put a 3 mm washer behind the screw , problem solved nice n tight now ! All back together now and waiting for a trial on Sunday to see how much of an improvement the spacer has made .
  15. I always remove pads , wire brush all over , spray with brake cleaner , blow off with air line , spray brake cleaner all over disc wipe with clean cloth , refitt caliper job done !
  16. I've got all the paperwork from steves (saunders) wife, v55/4 (kindly filled in by her) cert of newness , his dealer stamp , pennine's (the supplier to me ) dealer stamp , insurance from msm ( i recommend them very helpful !) cheque for the fee and identification of me (copy of my driving licence ). sent it all off and awaited my shiny new reg document , ha ! its all to easy i thought , then i recieved an envelope back from dvla with all the documents and a letter asking for certificate of conformity ( coc ) ! spoke to dvla and they say that all road going vehicle less than 10 yrs old have to have one , spoke to steve saunders and he says not , he's registered bikes before without one . eeeaaahhhhhh !! (bangs head against garage door ) am waiting for a call from steves wife who's dealt with the dvla before . watch this space !
