You could just make a spacer now you know what size your happy with.
Bit of plastic pipe maybe if you can find the right size.
Just a thought

Lots of dealers struggling to get shut of the 72kg 300 at £6999 this year...so I'm guessing no.
-
My first thought is, it's hydraulically locked due to way too much fuel getting on top of the piston. It gets worse each revolution as the volume of increases as it's not all going out the exhaust port. Possibly carb fault making it worse.
Unless it's been well looked after over the years, your crank seals are going to need replacing. The crank may be in bad shape also.(it's a 2 stroke thing)
The original ignition systems have been replaced on most running Fantics these days,as they suffer with age.
-
Careful, 32 or 35mm forks as standard I think. Sure Ive seen then advertised though.
-
I tend to do it with my hand on my 200 as I rock the bike back and forth. Don't know how common this is.
Not got any clutch drag and good oil, I just assumed that's how they are. It's a pain when you stall it in a section.
-
I've noticed my 05 missing a lot with an old plug. Runs fine with a new one in.
Looking for an Iridium one now as I've read they run better with them.
-
Yeah, a two stroke kick is no use, took me a while to get used to that.
A lot of hour metres measure RPM.
-
Your best doing a bit of research, that carb looks bog standard stuff, they haven't changed much...if at all since I started messing with carbs. Not sure where I found these, might help.

THREE BELLS She's running like a good en.
As I was cleaning the plug sockets I came across a ball of wires with bits and bobs plugged in under the tank. It was the extension to the main loom for the road gear that I'd plugged in, and forgot about due to it taking an age to get though MOT. As soon as you plug the extension in it must run on some kind of limp mode.
Well done to "on it" who was...on it!
Thanks for all the input. BRRRAP

Had a look at the pump in the tank, no sign of any crap really. Could try a flow test, think they give a flow rate/min.
Just had a look at the B/A sensor, I never touched that previously, but tried the bypass trick...made no difference
Going to clean all the plug sockets with contact cleaner now.
-
Yeah, according to the 05 manual that I've downloaded...they have got one. It's a square box and it has to be 5mm away from the throttle body. I've been rumaging around that area, so hopefully I've put it back the wrong way up. Fingers crossed
-
Bank angle sensor,where's that located?
What would it look like...size,shape?
If it turns out it has been out, what do I have to do with it? May have put it back in upside down then, switch it back and should be ok?
The fan came on today as i was running the bike, so I guess thats connected and the radiator temp sensor controls that I guess so prob connected too.
-
Thanks for the reply's guys.
I've had the wiring harness off when i connected the the lights and speedo for MOT so the plug socket thing is very possible, will have a look tomorrow, cheers.

I can potter around all day on it no bother,as soon as you grab a big piece of throtle it's like you hit the kill switch.
Bit reluctant to start but not too bad, five or six kicks from cold after i'd had the fuel pump out looking for crap, and three kicks when hot.
I've give it a basic service recently as I thought it was going down hill a bit. I've put the old air filter back in to check that the new one isn't restrictive, still no joy. No crap in the tank really, just a bit of slight dust.
The bike is an 05 and I got a spare throtle body with box of bits that came with the bike,so guess it's had a new one at some point. I'm quite new to the bike, only used it four time since buying it and ran great. I've been messing about with it recently getting it through MOT.
Any one got any ideas please?

I fancy the carbon ones for my 4rt. Where's the place to go in England? Good make?
-
I'd put new bearings in as the're cheap as chips. You can check the spacer between the bearings at the same time to see that all is as it should be.
-
Not sure what other owners have done. I do the classic trials on my Fantic(old git) so don't see many 4rt's.
I'm going to knock up a bit of something for the end of the silencer as the tester suggested,so long as I've made an effort think he will be happy.
Prob go with the cycle speedo, I've heard people say they have done that in the past. Will take it all off after the test as I've never been bothered the cops, the're used to seeing trails bikes getting round to sections...if you ever see a cop that is.
-
Hard to say really mate. All I can think of is spacers in wrong place or wrong ones.
If you slacken the spindle nut a little does it free the wheel off?
-
Ah yes, maybe that's how the bike got through the MOT in England. On the island we only have one test centre and they insist on a working speedo ,no lights are ok though, just a rear reflector. My be I'll have to put a push bike speedo on if you can't change em over.
-
Hi Rob,
Did you get your lights and speedo pluged in?
If your wiring loom is the same as mine, take the tank off and have a root around and you should find plugs for them.
-
Hi folks, can anyone tell me if you can change from KPH>MPH or are they fixed? It's not obvious.
-
Unfortunately we only have one test station on the Island,so can't take it else where. They are a bit fruity, think he wants me to make an attempt at quietening it down, he suggested making up something my self.
Any clue on changing KPH to MPH on speedo?
-
Take it you have searched Ebay? Genuine ones are expensive but look the best. Jitsie do a generic one but look a bit crappy.
You can get bar mounted tanks from Aceabis, Some of the genuine seats come with a litre fuel cell that you can carry under the seat.
The 4ride has a lager tank...with a larger price tag, I guess you can graft one on.
-
Just plug em in if there genuine items. I have on my 05 4rt. The speedo on mine works with what looks like a conventional front wheel drive that converts to an electric plug at the top end, never seen that before. Mine is reading in KPH at the min...need MPH to get through MOT if anyone knows if they can be switched over? Also failed on noisy exhaust...Is there a DB killer that goes in the end of the gen silencer? There are two tapped hole to mount something on the end.

This is my second season. I do a vintage event each month and try to get a couple of practice sessions in between.
Anyone had any kidney trouble? I've been out and bought a kidney belt as i was really sore a few days after the last trial i did. Think I had the symptoms last year but ignored it as it was too bad, flared up bad this time though. Anyone else suffer?
