Hi, if you find any alternatives on the carb please post on here. We have the same issues as does everyone with a pre 09 minitrial by the sounds of it ... Does your bike also cut out when going down hill and you have to rev it to keep it alive. I have tried everything I have read on forums to correct this issue but not sure if anyone has ever cured it ? Otherwise the bike is great for learning on, god knows why beta never sourced a retrofit part to sort this gremlin out.

Get some Elf HTX from BVM Moto, it's the best you can buy for the Mont's, its great stuff but a little expensive !!!!

Drill the existing threads out with a 5.0mm Drill. Do not move the drill up and down as you will make the hole too big for M6 !!! Now tap the hole M6 making sure the tap is square to the hole. Do a couple of turns clockwise and then reverse the tap the clear the material it has cut, repeat this a few times during the tapping of the hole. If you have any grease handy put some on the tap cutting threads, it will help cut the new thread cleanly !! Clean the tap before you start the next hole and grease it again. Cutting compound is best but grease will do it ..... Note, Its very easy to tap aluminium !!!

Hi , I removed the bush in the front pipe, the bush in the mouth of the center section and the bush at the end of the rear silencer. I tried the bike and then re fitted the bush on the end of the rear silencer as it made no difference to power, it just made it louder. The bike then ran sweet ....

Hi, i got the evo second hand, it had only had around 5 hrs use from new. I renewed the spak plug and cleaned the air filter when i got it. I have used it 3 times since I got it and on Sunday it was worse than the time before. It gets more choked each time its used. I think the carb needs a clean but was unsure if was a hard job to strip. I stripped my rev 3 carb no problem, but this carb is unkown territory for me ? I'm running shell optimax and castrol tts oil at 66:1 ? One thing I do hear when opening the throttle is the induction noise in the air box, is this a evo characteristic ? Cheers for replies ....

Hi I have a 2009 beta Evo 250cc, and find that it runs a bit choked, not crisp. My old beta rev 3 ran a bit choked for about 5 mins or so, then rode Ok. The evo feels like it needs a clear out to run smooth, it doesn

had the same problem, sent my carb off to BVM moto, they set it up for me and return posted it ..... bike ran better than ever cost

Hi, I had the same issue with mine, spoke to sandifords and they told me to turn the idle screw two turns anti clockwise, do the reset procedure (full throttle one slow kick) and it started straight away. I then turned the idle screw clockwise about 1.5 turns when it was warm. Had a bit of smoke at the beginning due to the petrol that had built up (due to constant kicking). I then had to change the plug as it was missing a little on acceleration. Did that and it was normal again, it also started easier due to the tick over being a bit higher. Dont know why it did it, but this cured it ?

Hi, I had a go on a new rev4 when they came out and didnt like it, it vibrated like hell ?? I just sold an 08 Montesa 4rt to go back to 2 stroke and the evo was the best I tried (for me) on test days. When my evo is started on choke it revs too high, I know its only for a minute, but it needs altering (but not sure how to do it ) Not rode my evo yet, due to this snow, cant wait for better weather. Hi All, just got an 09 Beta 250cc Evo and need a bit of info please? Is it best to use Normal or Super unleaded? (I think previous owner used normal) Is Castrol TTS the best oil to premix with? What spark plug is best for North West England running? Should I fit an after market air filter or leave the factory one in? Bike revs too high when on choke, but OK on tick-over? Can I adjust this, or should I just pull the choke lever up less than normal (full)? What way should the mapping switch be? Not sure what switching actually does? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jokerr, I know what you are saying, it's would bad news to buy an 09 and find you have to spend money on it and end up nearer to the 2010. Being honest, most 09's I have seen are cast off's of riders who've had the best out of them and are changing them for new. Will keep looking .... Cheers. yes, I know the feeling, had a brand new 4rt, but depreciation on any new bike is savage in year 1, especially if you dont get out a lot on it ???
