I don't think Loch Lomond are very active, you may be better with Lanarkshire Click Here D

You may well have attended a Club Trial on the same day as a National, that was deemed OK but I quoted a Championship Trial i.e. Youth/Over 40/etc. or Adult/Clubman event. The rule was applied as a Club could not get a permit for the same day as a Championship Round.
The Inter Club Team Trial usually gets a decent entry as it's known as not too hard an event. A bit of rivalry between clubs usually makes it a great day out.
Bet you got a few teams trying to enter without an observer though!! D.

I totally agree, and here is the best resource for all that. D

Love it!
I don't think that there is a downward trend, certainly not up here in the North. IDMCC has steadily been expanding over the past few years to the extent of parking problems where large numbers turn out to a (Club) Trial!
The downward trend is much more evident at Nationals where some clubs get very poor entries. I put this down to unwillingness to travel out of their own area. Most of our members are quite happy to go an hour or so from home for their days sport but any further, they'll find something else to do.
This year, the SACU Trials Committee deemed that there would be no Club Trial permits issued when a Championship National was on but as far as I can see, this has no effect in increasing entries.
So what do we do?
Ban Club Trials?
Ban them on Sundays and leave that day for Nationals only?
I'm afraid that probably wouldn't make that much difference either.
There are so many other things going on now, as a Sunday is now much the same as any other day of the week with virtually all large shops and centres/retail parks etc. open for instance.
As far as websites/forums etc are concerned, I don't think that trials riders would lose interest in the sport if they disappeared overnight. In saying that, websites/forums keep people in touch instantly with TC (probably the best in the world) at the top of the tree. Most new riders come into the sport through a friend or relation, not through deciding "I want to ride a trials bike" and trawling the net for info.
Peoples self interest?............it's out there in bucketloads...........try getting 15 observers on a Sunday!!
Yes, I do have a life outside trials (wife and 2 daughters to keep happy) but I give it as much time as I can spare. I wish the bulk of riders would do the same and not leave it to the willing horse. D

Swings and roundabouts...........see you in the morning. D

There is another 2 Day event, organised by Inverness & District near Aviemore, in June. Regs available in mid March 2007.
We've been running this event for three years now and entries are slowly improving but still plenty space (no ballot)
All classes catered for and the trick bikes go into the specials class. D.
-
22nd.........get your entry in!
Had a good look at an 07 bike yesterday before Lee got his all manky . Some nice touches and improvements, especially the modded footpeg mounts....................a long time coming. D

AJ, apology accepted and I offer mine for being blunt.
I still can't think of who you are, pm or email me. D
-
Well, well, what a slagging I've had here!!
I'm the Club Secretary in question and I'd like to put a couple of things straight here.
I don't know who you are (behind your screen name AJ201280) but if you'd like to reveal your identity just email or pm your ID. I'm sure I'd know you if you rode as a youth.
You actually asked to ride the trial on Sunday and it was myself that mentioned membership etc.
We run a 6 round Club Championship which is fully observed but under certain membership conditions listed below :-

The quality punches you're looking for are HERE although they are now in short supply. These are the ones also supplied by Davis Accessories.
Last time I ordered them it took a couple of months to get a selection and as far as I know, Maun are stopping making them.
The Rapesco ones are OK but don't seem to take a lot of punishment and only come in one shape. D.

Or try Nigel Birketts link HERE D.

Ad Aware, Spyware Doctor and SpyBot.
I run all 3, one after another, (in no special order), as they each pick up different tags.
I wouldn't rely on Bill's product, you'd probably pick up more than you dump!! D.
-
Yes, here he is in possesion of the latest model to the collection (1964 vintage). D.
-
Indeed..............and you're very welcome to it.
It's not the only way, but, I doubt if spewing your gripes out on here will have much effect. The system is the way it is because the majority can't be bothered getting off their lazy a***s to do something about it! Your club has votes and a voice that can be used at the AGM, you (your club) can also write to the Trials Committee with your comments/ideas/suggestions.........it's been done before.........successfully!
I'm total agreement with you.
But what you were suggesting earlier, was that the Clubman Championship be run on a Masters route. Again, is adding a Masters Championship the way to go?
Refer to my earlier comments above. D.
-
"The Clubman Championship" (B Route)(which was originally proposed by IDMCC) was never intended to bring on riders in Scotland but to bolster the numbers riding the main Championship route which is always undersubscribed. As a bit of an incentive, a trophy was put up for the "Best Clubman"
If you think about it, a rider who wishes to advance should ride the "A" route where the sections would be more suited for this purpose. The rest (who make up the numbers and make an event financially viable) are there to enjoy their day out without breaking their bikes and being battered and bruised for the rest of the week!
The Clubman Championship is already being run on the B route.............maybe you're suggesting a "Masters Championship" as well!
Instead of having a pop at the SACU many of the times you post on here, why don't you get yourself elected on to the Trials Committee where you could maybe change things from within? D.
-
It applies to all events, unless the promoting club supplies you with a riding number (i.e. IDMCC) D.
-
Still plenty room for more entries. D.

For all of you who didn't get a ride at Kinlochleven and before the rest put their bikes to the back of the shed, Inverness & District are holding a 2 day Pre 65 at Alvie just south of Aviemore on the 17th - 18th June.
Entry forms and regs are available HERE
For more info pm or email me. D.

Are they still in business?
I got the impression they'd packed it in.

Should be quicker than that now.
Phone the office on 01506 858354. D.
