Christ!!!! quid a plug, I'm being robbed, have to look around more
-
Been wondering after buying some new plugs what everyone else pays for theirs? seems to be big differences in prices shop to shop. I buy NGK BPR5ES plugs the Rev 3, what do other Beta riders pay for them
-
Is it a trick question or is it just me?
-
Sorry Heath, Beta is safely tucked up in my workshop tonight and not at the bottom of a rock face. Bike ran absolutley perfect today for the first time in 3 months?, first time I have really enjoyed riding it and could have gone more than the 9 hours we did today. No idea why but can only narrow it down to five things.
Only thing I altered on Saturday was 100% optimax with 70ml of Repsol instead of either 50% optimax and 50% avgas or 100% avgas. Have run it on 100% optimax before but still ran poor.
Went back to 30 pilot jet instead of 27.5
Dropped the needle one notch, but tried that before
Was it in my head, abit but a bike that is stalling low down and running lean at high rpm was nt my imagination
The weather was cooler today
Dare not touch it now or alter anything, Carb has always been imaculate so sure it was nt a dirty carb, or air filter.
-
See what its like tomoorow? if no good will call Steve and see if he can have it for a few days. And your right about in the mind, some of it could be but if thats the case it will have to go I think, ran better today after the 300th time the carbs been off and reset but does tend to run ok in the garden but not when its at the quarry. Really hope we can sort it tomorrow between us all,
-
Would nt wish this one on my worst enemy mate, really need to find out tomorrow whats wrong, hopefully the carb swap will rule out reeds/engine exhaust problems. I measured everything today against my mates 06 - mines no different at all, same jets - needle height and size - tangs same etc etc, begining to think the problem is else where. Still chucking fuel out even with all the mods done correctly???????????? I will pm you tomorrow with the quarry location if it gets launched
-
Sure thats the Beta factory one mate,
-
Moving Target
The 06 - 270 has 30 pilot and 150 main as standard, the numbers are very very small but should be on them, cant be sure if the 04 runs the same jets though
-
Sh854e!!! same old story even online, not to bad on the easy climb but go a real shi**er on the first obstacle that requires an element of skill - must practice more
-
Butt mooar,
Jitsie filters, seem to be the best I ve used - NGK bp5es plug and soon a Dellorto flat side VHST26
-
Hi Carl, many thanks for all the information, I will write down everything you have said so when I order it tomorrow I know what I need to order ie jet sizes etc. Looking for ward to the bike running like my last Beta did or even better. Have noticed as have two other mates of mine the 06 seems not to be as well put together as the 04's and earlier Betas we have had. Main reason we buy Beta's over the Gasser has been the build quality and reliabilty, not so sure now any of us. May be changing steeds at the end of the year to sherco or Gasgas
Thanks again
-
Yer be nice to get paid for time off, but we are all self employed as well, b*****s to the money sometimes -
-
four hours of riding today, mud flap held up great, not even scuffed up, pretty sure the original only lasted 2 hours
-
The one carls got is on the same side- picture of one on the <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> site. Going to order one tomorrow and give it a try, bike was a nightmare again today - should have ordered it 4 weeks ago wish i had now. If this does nt work back to Gassers for me
-
Soon as the bike gets home first thing that gets chucked is the stock bars for renthals, quickly followed by the air filter most of the stock bolts, and spark plug.
-
No-one here looks like they re going and all the lads are going to Wales for Reeth 3 day practice, suppose i will have to put up with all those rocks and streams this weekend again. Lifes hard sometimes
-
Few of us pulling sickies tomorrow afternoon and going out for a play, Dads coming - Ralphy and the Goat.
-
Just seen him on your site pics, may meet up soon then
-
Dont know Craig? Killkenny always a good spot for a change of scenery and not too far from Oxford, hope its a bit cooler though - gets hot in the bowl
-
Anyone going? not been for a year or two, nice to go somewhere different for a change. may try and get the lads out as well if they can be a***d.
-
Wraps round quite alot, better fit than the standard one as well
-
Rich - If your reading this I,ve got you one mate - nice!!!!

-
Just bought one of these for the 06 Rev 3, great bit of kit, looks really strong and moulds around the Shocker. The standard one holed in about 2 hours as I'm sure all you 06 riders know about. Cost
-
Tordi - yer Barry's right BPR5es NGK, best plug to use. If yours still has the champion plug in it - chuck it over the nearest rock face and throw the NGK straight in.
