  1. Each and every bike is different to every rider, it all boils down to personal choice! The 4rt is an excellent bike in terms of quality and strength, what the bike needs is riding, too many people have views that the bike is not competitive, it makes very little difference to the type of bike 95% of riders choose, it is the person holding the handlebars that is ultimately responsible!!! Get yer leg swung over one, and ride the bloody thing!!!!!

    4rt Remapping

you need to contact sandifords on 01282428383, they are not open on Tuesdays. You will require a throttle body if your bike is standard, plus a 12V battery to power the unit responsible for remapping the fuel injection. hope this helps
  3. As soon as i get an entry form, i'll be down for the jack wood - and so will drach!!!!

    Trials World

I have read through all the comments relating to the demise of trialsworld, and i am saddened to see that it hasn't lasted. Although i do agree with many comments, trials riders are tight, who wants to read about the 12th man in the wtc etc etc. But one thing that i can never understand (this includes tmx aswell) they always run features on the top lads, and regularly put there pictures in, which is great. But what about club lads, the lads that make the sport what it is! give them some credit, we have all seen pictures of james dabill, dougie, grimbo etc (and even me on my a***/head) but what about the real lads who crave for just one mention in a club report, or a picture in the famed tmx, i have been there as a young lad, waiting with baited breath to see if i had got a mention in fridays tmx. I know not everyone can be covered, as thats impossible, but how about focussing on the grass roots element. I know loads of lads desperate for a famed picture in tmx (they'd even pay for it!!!) Well thats my two penneth worth.
  6. I'd be up for it!! and i'm sure drach would be too.
  7. yes our web address is cravenanddmc.co.uk. However we have no results up for yesterdays trial just yet, they should be up tonight. cheers Boyd
  8. Seen as though i love the Scott, i'll put my two penneth worth in. For the win, i'd back Jarvis, however Colley could upset things, as he is really quick over the moors. and should do as well on observation. I also think James Dabill could upset the runnings, he proved last year he has the speed, and his riding has come on this year, so with the right head on come race day, he could and should be well up there. For standard time - this is the hard one, this year see's a number of quick riders, Jarvis, Colley, Clarky, Dabill, Austermuhle, B Hemmingway, throw in the likes of David Knight, Paul Bolton, Wayne Braybrook and Crippsy, also not forgetting Sunt, who is desperate to set standard time. This is sure to be one of the fastest Scotts on record. What does any body else think? dont forget, when the flag drops the bulls**t stops.

    Ssdt

Sorry JJWhite, but the sections are hard, they may look easy at the spectator groups, but there are some sections on the moors, such as the 3rd one at Annat this year, that have some really big stuff in, then there are hazards down at kinlochleven, such as blackwater etc that have big steps in,also the last two on saturday (bar Town hall Brae) that were brought in this year. Obviously top riders (and i mean top 15) find the hazards easy, but there are times when they even struggle, i have four years of ssdt experience under my belt, and every year its hard. I do agree though that you need to be fit, this year i was really complacent, and my fitness levels were shocking, and it showed. By Thursday i wanted to go home because i was so tired and lethargic, i felt like a robot on my bike. ( i guess all those pints didn't help either!) Its a trial for everybody, you have just got to ride with in your limits. If you know you cant do a section, ride in to it, and let the bike stall, you have had a bona fide attempt, pull out of the section and carry on - just remember to clean all the easy ones!!!
  10. There are a few quarries near skipton that are great for practising in, although you are not allowed to go in them. There is Skipton Moor, which has a small quarry, but recently local residents have complained at the number of people up there on bikes, so the police come down quite hard on anyone riding up the road to get there, you're best access is on the roman road from Draughton, but thats about 4 miles away. Other than that, there are no other practise grounds in skipton
  11. No it is not a genuine trial, but craven are holding a genuine trial at 1.30 on saturday on the skipton to gargrave road, which will cate for all abilities.
  12. As the trial is quickly approaching (5 weeks away), does anyone have the rider list yet. Perce?????

  14. I think that alot of riders will not be riding, as they are off to James Lampkins wedding. (which is on the same day)
  15. John, i can appreciate the hassle's you will have choosing the list, but should all the riders with a guaranteed entry, enter, then there will be an overlap of two riders. I know in principle this should never happen, but it might. Also i have looked carefully at the criteria for selection next year, BC, Novogar, Scott, and a selection of excellent events including Manx Two day etc. I can potentially see some flaws in the selection criteria For example a problem may lie in - Joe Bloggs, has X amount of funding for the year and competes in all the selected trials, having reasonable success, However Jim Bloggs, rides in a few, but beats Joe - Where do you draw the line? with choice of who gets priority. As overall Joe has has good results in all events, but by virtue has the money to compete in all of the events, whereas Jim, can beat Joe, but has not met all the criteria! - (Hypothetically of course) For the last few years, if you score points from the previous year or get a ride and score points you automatically get a ride in future events. This years list of riders has completely varying levels of riders, some are capable of european championship points, and others in the priority list are still only Novices, and not proven adult riders yet. This will cause more controversy as some lads (such as myself) will really have to up there game, in order to score BC points - which is all fair and what the series is all about, but myself and other riders do not have the financial support to compete in all the events listed within your set criteria, to be able to make the grade, should we not score the points I know that i sound like i'm having a whinge - But i have been in the position where i was unable to get a ride in the BC trials- (a few years ago,) after supporting BC events when the BC was struggling to get full entries. Week in week out i could beat riders who were guaranteed an entry, but could not get an entry in the BC events. At times it makes you question, whether the practise, time and expense is all worth it, when all you want to do is compete with your friends! It just seems as though, the interest to ride in the BC is really high, with over 100 riders throughout, the full list. The ACU may want to invest some more time, into the whole series - as the demand for entries is there - Just the supply of rides needs addressing!! Enough of my whinging - Ta ra
  16. When will rider list be published for 05 BC's
  17. Try Andy Rothwell on 07941197581. He helps me and Alex Wigg out with Stickers, try his website as well, its www.graffics.co.uk. Hope this helps.
  18. The traditional sections worked well last year, and i thought they were great. In 03 the trial was good, but i think it was pretty much of the same type of BC trial we get all year, hop skip, rev jump etc. Where as 04 gave all riders a fair crack - (note section 4/5 the same for both courses, and took marks off virtually everyone). I think if you incorporated both pieces of land, you could stage an excellent event, just avoid the 04 sections on the hillside that proved a bit tough. Other than that you have put on two great events, well worth travelling 5 hrs for, unlike some of the other events that get staged as a BC round. Keep up the good work!! BW
  19. Munch, I have gone into retirement, i fancy doing something like off shore power boat racing or Nascar racing!!!!! Don't know what i'm doing, retirement is an option though.
  20. Kinnel, please don't take offence, But Jim would make it look easy on a ty 175, he is a **** hot rider, give him any bike, and in ten minutes, he's feet up every where. On another note, I rode Jims bike, Bobles and Sunts on Sunday, whilst watching at Laneshaw, and all i can report is they are a well sorted bike, although i only had 5 minutes on each.
  21. Thank you dabber, if everyone was as honest as you, they would probably be better riders, As a rider (what ever standard) You always remember the times when a big handful of rip snorting power has just got you over the crest of a rock, but you never look back at the sections you have cleaned with ease, or wonder just why your rear wheel spun out, just near the crest of a giant hill climb. This is why trials is a thinking mans game, it took me years for the penny to drop, and only yesterday i learnt soemthing new while trying a Sunts 4rt in my trainers. If only people would think about what they require out of a bike before they buy the bike, they would probably enjoy the sport much more. and have more fun.
  22. People seem willing to slag bikes off at any given opportunity. 95% of the worlds trials riders (not wtc contenders) wouldn't benefit from either a fourstroke or a two stroke bike. neither will it make a significant difference to a riders ability upon the make of bike they ride. What is important and i'll say it over and over again, is hours on any bike and advice from riders who know what they are talking about, not fathers who can't ride or people with limited experience. I'm not saying i know the ins and outs of everything, relating to trials bikes at all. but there is only so much you can learn on a trials bike over a specific amount of given time. The most important elements of trials are to ride a bike you, the rider feel comfortable on the most, and FUN.
  23. why don't you use tyre soap, doesn't corrode, tyre slides on dead easy with it, very cheap. Also a couple of bike straps pulled tight around the tyre helps, so no need for a beader.
  24. Heard a rumour that they might be out tomorrow - NUMBERS THAT IS!!!!
