Brian:
They are defenitely not the same age!! I know I'm aging myself, but I have known the both of them since they were just wee "wains". (babies) Kerry is older than Christy, although you can't really tell them apart at times.

Alright all you comedians out there (Ishy excluded). Someone out there must have a 240 or 300 that they can take the tank off and tell me what color wires plug into where!! I diagram would be nice, but I have a beaut of a bike here I'm dying to ride. All new bits, has to be something easy!
Cheers, Steve

Does anyone out there have a wiring diagram for a 240 Fantic?? I have new stator coil and flywheel, and HT coil (via r2w). The entire system is new but I still have no spark! Desperate to get the thing running! Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
PS. The ignition system is Duacti

Never mind! Located brand new one thanks to r2wtrials.com

Good to hear your thoughts Dad, ah, I mean Mark! Wow, I am getting old eh? Hope you are well! You are right and thanks for shedding another light on the positive things about sending a team to the TDN.
Cheers, Steve

I remember someone posting on here about the readings that the HT coil should have in order to work properly, but I can't find them. Could you please re-post! Thank you! If anyone in North America has a HT coil for a 240 Fantic, please let me know. Urgent!!

Yes, good questions and thoughts! It's unfortunate that your club is going through a bit of a hard time! In my many years of being in trials, 30+, I have seen the ebb and flow of membership many times. I think it's fair to say that in most clubs there is always a core of guys who have been around for many years, and some that maybe stay in it for 5 or 10 and get bored with it and move onto something new. I believe this will always be the case!
I don't know if I have any answers at all to your good questions, but, I'll try. In my mind, the goal of any club is to look after the majority of it's membership and the club itself. Yes, making it a family sport is crucial and a good way to bring new people into the sport. But, I think it's a mistake not to always have an avenue open for the few who possess that special quality of talent and desire. It must be nurtured. But, not at the expense of the club's main interests.
I think the avenue of sending a team to the TDN must remain open for that reason. Very few if any of our young guys could afford to go to Europe and compete with the Euro's to get better, so the TDN might be there only chance. I think you also have answered some of your own questions too. If there aren't any strong viable clubs in the country with secured land to ride on, there won't be much hope of those clubs sending excess funds to support any TDN team.

Finally approaching the point of trying to flash up my 240 Fantic that I have been patiently re-doing. Getting very excited to hear it run. Last things to do, are clean the carb completely, and put the new ring on , throttle cable, and put the rest of the engine back together. Hopefully try flashing it before the weekend is over!!

Ishy, if he has more than one, I'd like one for a spare as well!

Hey Jay:
I've been looking for vintage Fantic clothing for sometime now and I don't remember that offer . I have one of Duane's old 240's that I got from Ishy. I'm hopefully gonna have it ready for our 2Day in April!

Thanks for all the leads so far guys! Sting, that bike is sold. Ridge, can't get that link to work for me.

Hey guys:
Looking for a good used 50 Minitrial bike of any make. Preferrably in North America. In the $1200-$1500 range. Does anyone know someone who has something for sale. They seem hard to find and they sell even faster!
Cheers, Steve
-
Ishy, this would be a good one for you to answer. You still have yours right? Always wanted one, but wonder what they would be like to ride. A guy as old as me could even drop down and ride in the senior class with one of those thumpers!
-
Billy:
Neat idea! Unfortunately, you should know this crowd out here a little better than that! By the time it gets dark, most guys find it a feat just being able to walk!!!! Perhaps those cool helmet lights would come in handy when trying to negotiate the section that leads to the cooler!!
Cheers, Steve

Thanks for all the great replies so far guys!! Keep them coming!

We're putting on a 2Day event this year which will be Vintage bikes the first day, and Modern the next! Guys coming from a long way to ride, just wanted to field some ideas from you on things we can do to make this event even more special!! Special sections, timed hillclimbs, riding sections sidesaddle etc, lets hear your best ideas!!!!
Cheers, Steve

Well what do you have Ish, I need a throttle cable, two new levers, and a clutch side perch. Also, a new pistion ring! Let me know! About to order form Tryals Shop!
Cheers, Steve
PS. Still looking for good Fantic clothing!!

Ishy:
I've got all my bits for my 240 from Mike at the Tryals Shop. Great guy! He has or can get any Fantic parts!

I really expected Dougie to bounce back with vengence at that last indoor round after a horrible 5th before that! I know, Iknow it's only indoors. But I seem to remember not too long ago when Doug was untouchable there too. It really makes for a very interesting outdoor season coming up! Raga has to be at an all time high in confidence right now! I say if he beats Doug in the first round, it might be all over! Sorry guys, I think Doug is the greatest ever too, but everything will come to an end. Can't wait to see what happens

Cheers Big John! Have you ever seen the bike or seen Nigel ride one? Do you know if it comes with a hydraulic clutch??
Cheers Steve
-
Love the pics of Nige's bike there! Would be nice to have some more specs on the website. Has anyone seen one about?? Does it have a hydraulic clutch on it?? My neighbor has a TYZ and doesn't really ride it at all. Might be a neat project to order one of those frame kits!! If anyone knows more please reply. Must send an email off to Nige!
Cheers, Steve
-
Wow! Does that ever look nice! Do you have any more pics of that and are they still available? Some info would be appreciated.
cheers, Steve

I totally agree Matt! Lets face it, after the ban last year, he didn't have much motivation to compete for the championship. I really think that this could be the year. He has stuck with the program that Jordi has layed out for him. It will be the best year in recent memory for the championship, since Colomer and Dougie used to fight it out! Can't wait!
Cheers
-
Atta boy D! Way to mix up the equation!Personally I just find it really great to have this competition so close! I also think that whether Dougie wins outdoors this year or not, there will never be another rider like him, perhaps ever! He is a class act as well as the best combination of pure skill and pure determination we have ever seen in trials!
One day someone will come along and beat all Doug's records, that's what happens eventually. But, we will be able to say that we saw Doug when he did it all and how much of a professional he was always!
Oh, you Brits! (you to Ishy) I admire your blatant patriotism on the subject! Don't think that if a Canuck was in the same postion as Dougie that I wouldn't feel the same way! All I an do is sit back and watch it all unfold with jealousy that it's not a Canadian!
Cheers, Steve
-
As you say Dave, this year should be interesting for sure! Unlike last year with most of the tops Spaniards out of contention! I'm going to watch the rest of the Spanish Championships before I make any predictions. I aggree Ishy that he does have an advantage there, but the margins of victory are increasing! The tell tale sign will be to see if Doug comes back with his patented brilliance after a bitter defeat!
Cheers, Steve
