  1. I'm considering have a batch of sidepanels made for the twinshock DG350, would anybody on here be interested in some, I wasn't going to have that many done as I don't ride that much so I'm hoping I wouldn't be breaking them too regularly. Apologies if this is considered an advert post but I couldn't really think where else to put it as nothings for sale at the moment and I was just wondering if there was anybody else needing some?
  2. I would go for PJ1 paints not the cheapest out there but they do last well and seem the most durable, their exhaust paint doesn't seem to have much body to it though and really needs baking on. Just wish PJ1 would do a non aerosol version so I can spray it with my gun. I've had a lot of disappointments with other products on the market though - and i've yet to find something other than chrome that will stay on the first 3 inches of a well used exhaust front pipe!
  3. Thanks very much was going to order them today - things take me a while! Is this the same length as everybody else is running? Thanks
  4. LOL I used to use that colour then people complained that it was too light! The shape of mine came from an original set - never thought to check if they were for the alloy of fibreglass tank though. Will put a note on mine from now on (next time they are listed) so people can specify the lighter shade.
  5. Hi Woody, which ones on ebay are the wrong colour - I think theres only 2 people sell them (one of them is me)- I know my shape is good but i'm now worrying about the colour. Cheers Giles All feedback appreciated.
  6. Does anybody have any experiance of what modern kids bikes are capable of pulling a chair, i've seen a couple of TY80 outfits in the dim and distant past but i've no idea of what a modern bike would be like with a chair attached. Thanks Giles
  7. Yes a trials bike will fit no problem, at a push when going greenlaning a way away I used to get a pair of DT125R's into the back of a LWB series 3 - used to have to loosen and rotate the handlebars though.

    Swm Barrel

The 280 is a twin ring piston, sorry can't help about the head though. There doesn't look a lot left on the barrel of my 280 so they may just be a well bored 240... Martin should know. Giles
  9. Hi, just a quick question, what length rear shocks are people running on their Grippers, has anybody tried the NJB Trikshocks on them? Thanks Giles
  10. I would second teh Arrow T50 they staple just about anything i've come across seatbase wise, also you could try what is know as a 'hammer tacker' which drives staples just a little bit harder than a gun. Hope this helps Giles
  11. Makes the last one on there look cheap doesn't it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Giles
  12. Here are the dimesions measured with a cheapy pair of calipers - so definately not 100% accurate Pin 16mm Overall Height 70mm Top of pin to top of crown 25mm Ported in rear of piston & rear of skirt cut away Distance between ring stops measured directly across the top of the piston is 45mm appear to be centred on the centre of the piston Will buy a decent measuring set up next..... Cheers
  13. Am looking for a piston to fit my 311 Mont - originals are unobtainable according to Sandifords, does anybody know what other bikes have around a 73.5mm bore size? The barrel needs replating as well so I could get it bored to accept a slightly larger piston then replate or have it sleeved to take a smaller one. The marking on the piston is Gilardoni 2775 i've googled this but all the information seems to come back about Guzzi's Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Giles
  14. I had the same problem with mine, I tried everything I could think of including finally trying to flat it back, acrylic floor polish made it look a bit better for a while but didn't last, I even tried ordering one of the Acerbis plastic reviving kits but to no avail, looking at the pictures of them though it just looks like you flat it with wet and dry to get the scratches out then apply some polish. The only other thing I can think of to try is the joining/ deep scratch removing kit that comes with Corion worktops when you fit them, which has some very nice fine almost fabric type sanding discs to finish it off with - but the worktop is semi-matt finish. Will grab the discs and have a play next time I fit one. Cheers Giles
  15. Does anybody know a dealer who may just have a piston and rings for a 1992 cota 311, have tried Sandifords but they have no stock and the piston and rings are now discontinued, alternatively what has been made to fit in the past? Cheers Giles
  16. Hi, I haven't tried them myself but John from Trail and Trials is usually right about most things TY related. Cheers Giles
  17. Hi all, have added a Merlin/ Cagiva DG3 to my to do list, does anybody know who the UK importer was or any likely source of spares? So far I am looking for a front brake plate and a front sprocket cover but no doubt the list will grow. Thanks Giles
  18. Can't give you a define answer why it happened but can suggest somebody having too much fun tighening it up with the airwrench to stop it shearing the wrong size flywheel key they had just fitted in the very very worn keyway maybe? I snapped the crank on a 1 year old GZ125 suzuki last year (wiht no wear on it) that just looked like it was made from cr*p to be honest, it wasn't even particularly tight when it went. I have a 349 crank thats done the same on the other side....But on the plus side I haven't broken any 348 frames - yet. Didn't the first of the alloy framed bikes have a reputation for breaking in two behind the headstock as well? Giles
  19. HPI check on the frame number (but sometimes they miss of the pre-fixes when they were registered) should show up if its been registered, sometimes they don't charge if theres no listing - try a local friendly dealer who has an account and can do it while you wait - usually doesn't cost much. I found a few of mine this way but my service is now resticted to cars only:( so can't help you myself. Good luck Giles
