  1. Just a question. Why are villiers motors classed as unit construction when because the gearbox is clearly bolted on they aren't ? Never understood that one. So where did villiers engined bike's stand in your rules Deryk? It's obvious a Bantams unit and a C15 etc but a villiers should be pre unit surely?
  2. Just loving these piccys please please keep them coming I just love Ossa's
  3. Well T&MX have done it again! in "Whats on" they have put our trial on this Sunday as being at Clifton Scrambles course nr Ashbourne Derbyshire which it is but they have also included directions to Bracken Rocks, Holloway, Nr Matlock, Derbyshire. THE TRIAL MOST DEFINATELY IS ON AND WILL BE AT CLIFTON SCRAMBLES COURSE OFF THE A515 NEAR ASHBOURNE DERBYSHIRE. There will be Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman routes and classes for British Bikes, Pre85 Twinshocks, Pre95 Air Cooled monos, Sidecars and over 60's on modern machinery. PB Trialsport have also sponsored a Championship class for the O/60's on modern bikes over the Intermediate route. So I hope this has now been cleared up and everybody who was considering coming now knows where the event will be held. Start time 11.00am See you there
  4. Sorry then I bow to your superior knowledge Charlie. The memory must be fading it was so long ago. Perhaps the Bantams were all 4speed too with central plug heads? Funny I could have sworn they were 3speed in 1964. Oh well I must be mistooked.
  5. Did a similar thing once when I bought an Ossa gripper, there is a miss named trials bike if ever I knew one, from Sammys. All I had was a mini saloon so I took the seats out all but the drivers and removed the wheels and forks and somehow I got it in. Must admit they did look at me a bit strange. Then again people still do
  6. At first glance it almost looks like a mono Yamaha with two shocks fitted. Very nice bike though and would love to see more piccys.
  7. how many with square barrels and points on sidecase
  8. Didn't say they ruled just that it's nice to see so many 3 speed Bantams being used as the factory intended
  9. The way I see it about queue jumping is the person doing it thinks they are somehow better than everyone else. It always seems to be the so called Expert rider that does this and never the Clubman. It's the same when you have to observe each other most of them just ride off never talking their turn with the board. Same with riding sections out of order another no no in my book but a typical Expert ploy. Well you asked about trials ettecate well there's quite a bit to have a go at in the replies so far.
  10. NO !! but that's all part of the fun modifying and improving all the time.
  11. Just wondering why John as I much prefer the motor fitted with electronic. Power delivery is way improved and the ones I have tried with points always feel flat as a fart and woolly off the bottom and don't rev out or pull anyway near as well at the top end either. Basically they run as crap as they did back in 1967 when I had my first Greeves Scottish and what a pile of poo that was. So why replace with an inferior ignition?
  12. I've always thanked the observers and the CoC as it's only common courtesy and polite. Unlike pushing to the front of a queue which is plain ignorant and very bad manners and I don't care who it is. No rider is more important than any other. If it's you job then as a representative of that company it is your duty to represent them in a good light. THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE WORLD TODAY and no wonder the kids grow up bloody minded, selfish, self centered and ignorant.
  13. I remember a few people when buying a new trials bike, as it happens a Honda, asking that the invoice showed it as two generators.
  14. Hi Andy. Good luck and hopefully better weather than last year. Enjoy a great event. Amazing how many 3 speed Bantams are riding though. Great to see the old 3 speed Bantam being so popular. Nite nite Andy
  15. Must admit I've never had a problem with "moving" a bike that was "parked" at the head of the queue. Sometimes they just fell on the ground as I rode past or might have got knocked inadvertently as I manoeuvred into position to start my attempt. Typical ignorant "Experts" who should know better. Sometimes even the plug caps came loose
  16. Lol know the story well and heard the full story a few times from the man himself.
  17. Falcon will rebuild yours to your specific requirements. Think they quoted me around £150 but best to check.
  18. I always buy my bearings from a local supplier. I've NEVER been sold a pair just buy as many as I want. Don't get what you mean. Sorry
  19. One that you can get a piston to fit ?
  20. This proves my point when the anoraks are going endlessly on about original machines, we need more original bikes in the Scottish P65 etc etcWho in their right mind would even try to ride the Scottish on THAT ! You'd struggle in a Club trial round our way! If riding bikes like that float your boat first try medication then petition for a return to the sections of the day before trying to make bikes like that ride todays sections.
  21. I agree with woody. The thing is most of us ride our bike and constantly upgrade and modify our bike's to make them perform better which after all is what it's all about isn't it? It's not like ordering a part for your car these are competition motor cycles and even the factory fitted different bits to seemingly same models. Just depended on what was lying around at the time. Easy to measure first and save returning bits isn't it?
  22. bit like people persisting in riding the Expert route when it's patently clear they cant ride like one and then they moan it's too hard
