  1. Dear Bikespace... SSSSSHHHHH!!!...dont tell everyone...else they'll put the subs up.. only kidding..although I'm not directly envolved it UK trials...I totally agree with you. I'm also a squash player...sorry to rub it in but its obly 3 pounds per hour here. Long way to come for a game though!
  2. I read somewhere that Talon make a rear wheel that is reversible. I'm sure it will cost more than I want to spend,,,but it sounds VERY helpfull. SO, I assume you just change the disc from one side to the other, and it avoids taking the tyre off when/if you want to reverse the rear tyre. If anyone has any info/price on this wheel, I would love to know
  3. Hi GOrdon... And apologies to any Discovery owners...but..I think you'll be dissapointed if you buy one of those. My brother had one for a while..and he often drives nearly 2,000 miles a week. He reckons its the worst thing he's owned! FOr short trips though/and off road??it might be good??
  4. Cheers olly....keep those ideas coming folks!!
  5. might seem like a crazy post....BUT...my wife and I MIGHT settle in Spain in a few years time. Has anyone any ideas of which regions, offer the most action/clubs/events in trials?? Thanks in advance for any ideas!
  6. Hi wayneg.. Sorry this is a bit OFF subject.....BUT...just wondered since I am in Hong Kong...and always wanted to go to NZ on holiday. DO you think there are any places where I can do a trials holiday??..i.e rent a bike etc.?? Hope you might have some ideas....cheers
  7. Maybe not enough interest for an APrilia section....but (and I'll have to check in a minute)...i dont think there is an "Others" section for the bikes. Might be an idea??
  8. WOW..this is amazing....all this response for the Climber!!! Mattylad and t-shock...thanks for the advice about the manuals lineaway......I might have bad news.....you see I'm here in Hong Kong...and I'm trying to pass this info to my dad in UK...who is trying to fix up an old Climber. NOW....I think he has already removed the 17mm head bolt under the clutch cover...IF SO...do you have any advice on what to do next??!!!! Thanks in advance for any help!
  9. Thanks everyone....its great to see all these posts about the Climber...although it seems like a heavy old lump to me now..there is still something that I really like about it. t-shock....thanks for all your help. I'm wondering if you could tell me where I could get that Rotax manual.....OR....(and I know I shouldn't say this)...if you were willing to photocopy it, I would pay you for a copy.......which in the interests of copyrights, I would obviously destroy after I have learned a few bits that I need!!!!!
  10. FIRSTLY....many thanks to Social Climber for your help...and if you can get that number I'd appreciate it. Secondly.....are you SURE tshock...because both Social Climber AND BVM-Moto in Stroud have told me that for the 1993 water cooled Climber it should be 1400cc gearbox oil??????? ALnswers on a postcard please!!!!!!
  11. I dont believe it!!!! There is someone else with the same bike!!...I'm trying to help my dad fix up a 1993 280 CLimber....ALSO purple and yellow colour. Sorry I can't help you...but I will be eagerly awaiting any advice you get. ALSO...I want to ask you... I;ve been told it is 1,400cc of gearbox oil, (which sounds alot to me),,and 260cc of oil in each fork. DO you know if that is correct. AND...better still, do you know where I could get an owner/instruction manual. I've tried but can't get one. Thanks in advance for any help
  12. Try to look for some SIDI's...I love 'em. Very comfortable, strong, long lasting, and you can buy new soles for them. Not sure what they'd cost in UK though. SOunds like nearly all boots leak...including mine!!...but I bought a pair of waterproof socks from BVM-moto and they work REALLY well...strongly reccomend them
  13. I assume that this is why freixa and Amos are not riding the SSDT anymore this year?? No bike!!!...or rather...no 4stroke....
  14. I'm planning to go and watch the World round at Puerto Pajares on july 25th. Does anyone know this place??...I can't even find it on the map. Any tips on where to stay etc. would be great. Its the first time I will see a world round. Do I need to get tickets in advance?..........ANywhere I can buy euro for cheap....(ha-ha)

    Rev 3 250 02

Just changed my original handlebars on my '02 Rev 3 I replaced them for Renthal Kenichi Kuroyama bars. They looked very similar in shape...just a bit wider....but (so far)...TO ME...they feel terrible. Has anyone any advice...and if I continue to dislike the new ones..will I be able to buy the original ones??...I think they are called Tomassi or something...who sells them?? Thanks for any help!!
  16. A post on behalf of my dad that has a 1993 Aprilia climber 280....but doesn't know exactly what oil mix ratio he should be using. Does anyone know... Thanks in advance for any help
  17. In my opinion Sidi trials boots are EXCELLENT...In fact, I can't believe more people dont seem to wear them...and they are comfy from the off!! Some new ALpinestars I tried seemed VERY hard/uncomfortable around the ankle. Not sure about the current or old courier boots...BUT the new model trials and courier boot ARE identical....EXCEPT..the courier boot has a metal toe on it. I would stick with the proper trials boot if it were me.
  18. OK..OK..OK Guess I asked for that...Dont worry...I love my bike too much to be THAT tight..I'll go and get some filter oil straight away. Thanks for the advice!!
  19. Call me a tight a*** or just STUpid...'cause I'm no mechanic....BUT...I just soak mine in a small dish of petrol...wring it out untill its NEARLY dry..and put it back. Bike seems to run fine..and I've been doing it for about a year. Mind you...if I'm really harming the bike in anyway, I would appreciate someone letting me know!
  20. and lets face it. An online parts manual is VERY valuable to all those poor soles that have been sold a used bike without any manual.
  21. Dont know about the Sherco...but I read somewhere that the Montesa 4 stroke will be at the Scottish. Wish i could go and see!
  22. I was just looking at Trials source.com If you look at their bike model info stuff, it says that the 2004 Montesa is DEFINATELY the last 2 stroke that they will make. Is it true??...Of course it was sure there is a four stroke imminent...but I thought they might continue making the 2 stroke alongside for a while??
  23. Thanks Dr.Nick...Shame Beta coulnd't have stuck with that design...on the Rev 3 the thread is in the frame...and you can't put a nut on the end...so Its also pretty bad news if a thread gets damadged which I think one of mine is...will try to do it all this weekend...so thanks for the advice!
  24. Thanks alll for your help. I suspected it might be tricky. It is also complicated by the fact that one of my rear threads...has been damadged by a bolt that was working its way loose and getting banged at the same time...(if that makes sense?)...I will try however to move one bolt at a time and loctite them. Aaron..its probably my poor technique that means I'm bashing the rear nuts....would sure like some of those countersunk ones though like on the Montesa. STU
  25. If I was too take my bash plate off...is it VERY difficult to put back on??...I wonder since it seems to be a significant part of the structure. ALSO>....the nuts at back of bash plate (near rear wheel)..keep getting their heads rouded off on the rocks...I notice the Montesa has a countersunk alan key bolt thingy...which looks MUCH better to me. Mine keeping working loose too...I will locktite them soon... any tips..gratefully received since I'll probably take off the plate soon..and try to sort it all out.
