  1. As a side note I have a 2000 2.9 that I use Maxima 75wt Motorcycle Transmission Lube. I change my oil once or twice a year. I have not had the clutch plates stick at start up, always been a nice smooth clutch operation, no slippage. (maybe the plates are just old and don't hook up like they should) Filling it back up takes a little bit of time, I lean the bike over against my workbench at roughly 45degrees. I have a funnel with some silicone tubing that I use, Takes a bit for it to flow into the bike, but with the tubing attached to the funnel I can stand up and not be all hunched over. The following is just my opinion and may be subject to fact verification by someone who actually knows. I don't like the idea of using automatic transmission fluid in a gearbox. The ATF is a hydraulic fluid used for pressure applications not for its lubricating abilities. Inside a gearbox lubrication is way more important than pressure abilities. And a Gear Lube that is designed for motorcycle wet clutches is designed for just the purpose that I am using it for.
  2. But at least you are able to do one of them really well...................I can't play guitar very well anymore or ride very well. This should be a good time, Sam your event is always a great way to kick off the MOTA season. Great property, Good fun, Wonderful people to hang out with, and excellent weather..........(Well most years there was that cold rainy year, but we won't dwell on that)
  3. Aw CRAP!! I spent so much time trying to learn to ride I forgot everything I thought I knew about playing guitar.

  5. But how were you able to settle the most important argument...............Coffee or Tea? It's great that the trials community does look out for each other even at the world level.
  6. I have used high temp spray paint worked halfway decent, easy touch up. Currently my header pipe is powder coated with a home powder coater. Kinda held up to abuse but not really.
  7. Maybe that should be renamed "Bad Song with Bad Dancing"
  8. dry conditions I have been know to run 5 rear and 7 front. I am 16.5 stone. (230 lbs) Most often 4 rear and 6 front. Good size steps and such.
  9. Need next size up on the piston? Maybe the sound you here is piston slap. The top of your piston should have an A,B,C or D stamped in it. My last rebuild I changed rings but not the piston, I have great compression, runs really nice, but makes one hell of a clatter due to piston slap............Yes I know my rings will wear out prematurely from it. Much great Sherco Info. here
  10. Never said I was the sharpest tool in the shed!!

    1999 Sherco 250

I usually put the two bolts in the front of the bash plate (near header pipe) just loose of course and use vise grips to pull the bottom of bash plate up to the mounting tabs under the engine. Redneck engineering.
  21. Don't look at the fireplug. Just ride the rock, you will go where you look. Oh yea, might wanna make sure the owner is not home.
