  1. I have the bare bones of a triumph T90 and would like to know what subframe would fit the main loop without much modding as the bathtub original isnt what im after as its far too wide . I have seen triumphs with cub and c15 type back ends ,thanks
  2. Thanks to jon v8 and tony for those positive replys
  3. I was hoping to have an owner of a works replica bullet maybe tell me what the serial nos of a genuine bike would start with ,they are out there im sure
  4. Hi ,im interested in buying a 350 bullet and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to spot a fake etc ,is there a certain way a genuine trials bike would be numbered on the motor and frame ?
  5. Even the el bandido/montadero and the later 125 pursangs didnt have the facility of being able to start in gear with the clutch lifted, they did have gear primary drive though
  6. These are rebuildable , i would say more likely of a matador or montedero , you compress the spring and only at the very top under the small shroud you grip where there should be a flat on the shaft if there is not protect the shaft with some rubber before gripping with grips but only at the very top,it doesnt matter here as the seal block will not travel this far up the shaft ,then unscew the top shock mount .Then grip the bottom lug in the vice. Where the shaft comes out of the body you should see a piece with 2 flats or peg holes in it ,this is the part you unscrew.Dont grip the shaft as you could damage it and the you will need new shafts.Hughs bultaco of craryville new york should stock the seal kits ,some come with the shafts as well .Its looks like you have the
  7. Email me at pk@frontera.f9.co.uk and i will fwd a pic
  8. Hi ,it depends what your local eligability rules will allow as for the year of motor ,but if thats not realy an issue .I would try a cub motor if you want to go early ,and if a later motor would suit why not try a tl series Honda, dead reliable and would have more than enough power for the wassell .The c15/b40 could be a bit bulky for your frame

    Montesa 315r

I did buy it , i have been looking for a while for a nice one ,my reasoning being the perceived reliability and build quality of the Honda input and i didnt fancy a 4 stroke , but like you say horses for courses .

    Model 10

No ,as standard they just had the 1 hole in the centre, a lot were modified to fit a decompressor and if this was ever removed a spark plug could be put in to fill the hole .

    Montesa 315r

Hi just bought a 03 315 with very little use ,how would it compare to an 06 beta or similar ?
  12. One of the model 10s i have was first registered on 5th january 1965 ,its a very early serial no , so i would of thought they must of been manufactured prior to 31st dec 1964 .
  13. Whats the engine no ? a very early sherpa s should have a sand cast motor with no bultaco emblems in the engine covers ,exhaust looks to be sherpa s as well, rear wheel was common across the range and is the 2 piece type,i can send you a pic of a very early sherpa n ,i think it was serial no 38 or near which was for sale at the auto retro show last year pk@frontera.f9.co.uk

    The New Haul

The spare motor is actually a mk2 matador ,visually the same as the M10 apart from the inlet manifold and internally the same apart from gear ratios ,serial M4 , a lot have been coverted in the states as M10 clones
  15. I have just aquired a 1970 bultaco matador prototype mk4 sd ,one of 25 built for the isdt in el escorial in Spain in 1970 , this bike was ridden by a belgian called Jean crossett . It was then bought from fx bulto himself by WI (Ivor) Smart of Wrexham after he followed it in the 1970 event in el escorial . Ivor then rode it in the 1971 event in the Isle of man winning a gold medal in the process ,he rode it in a few events afterwards and then stored it for 30 odd years . I saw this bike when i went to look at another bultaco never thinking i would get the chance to buy it , unfortunatly Ivor died a couple of years ago and the bike passed to one of his sons who kept it for a while and then decided to sell .It realy is in very original condition with its scrutineering marks from not only its iom outing but also its 1970 debut in Spain . I would realy be very grateful if any body has or knows where i can get fotos of either event showing the bultaco 1970 N0 226 1971 NO 154 ,Thanks in advance Pat kean
