  1. Thanks for all the replies, i finally got it sorted turns out that getting on the compression stroke was the problem. Once i managed that i had movement in the rocker arms and was able measure and adjust.
  2. Thanks for the reply, I have turned the flywheel over and am still in the same situation with no movement in the rocker arms at the T setting. On the F setting I am getting movement. Is it possible for that the valves could be that much out of adjustment and the bike still run. The clearances seem about correct on the F setting I am wondering now if the valves have been previously set on the wrong mark?
  3. My bike has been getting harder to start when hot so i thought i would check the valve clearances. The problem is when i set the flywheel to the T top dead center mark the rocker arms are solid with no movement at all. Can this be correct? or am i doing something stupid.
  4. Dont give him an entry next year.
  5. I set the edge of the rim on a block of wood to protect the disc/sprocket. Then set a sledge hammer on the tyre and stand on it, works a treat every time.
  6. USE THE RECOMMENDED ELF OIL! MY 06 4RT STARTS IN GEAR,FINDS NEUTRAL OK AND DOES NOT DRAG THE CLUTCH AT ALL. IT MIGHT BE EXPENSIVE BUT THINK OF ALL THAT MONEY YOU ARE SAVING ON TWO STROKE.
  7. What company did you go with ?
  8. You have to use the rules yo your best advantage no matter what they are. Most people at the start of a section fully intend to try and clean it, but if you have 3 dabs the most important thing is to get out without a 5. I Personally dont care what it looks like as long as it does not turn into a 5. Every single mark counts in trials.
  9. I totally agree with your comments, there should be one set of rules for all trials with the exception of the Scottish/Scott and so much the better if they are all non stop.
  10. Is the restrictor out? there is a washer in the exhaust which makes them run like a pig. I used to start the one we had,let it run on the choke about 30 seconds and then lift the back end off the ground and let it rev until it cleared itself.
  11. Just hold it flat out and see if the limiter cuts in. I would doubt if it does.

  13. My mates 03 280 pro also stuck in first, and we had to do a bit of surgery, splitting the box was simple enough, just the usual make sure you set everything down in order. There are two small sprung selectors in the selector drum, it was one of these that had broken jamming the bike in first gear, the selector shaft also had a hairline crack and had to be replaced, hope this helps.
