1. Gently take off the o ring on the petrol filler 2. Squeeze the wide end of the rubber..... 3. use the cut out on the back of the plastic piece to ensure the rubber is all the way in.... 4. Gently pull it back through till it get into the right slot.... 5. Give it a squirt of WD40 to lube the cables/hoses 6. gently slide the plastic over the filler 7. Just had a drag through some old weather charts and stats about '86.....saddo yes, bored Saturday in work, again YES!!! On the Monday fronts moved East to west (unusual direction in the UK, depression in the far south of Englandshire) wet and radioactive on the Monday into Tuesday. Fronts pushed into atlantic to be met by another set of active fronts heading in the normal way so it hunbg about and came back, (remember a superb satellite pic at the time), heavy rain practically all day on the Wednesday. Some of the rainfall totals were rediculous that day, our main three stations in the west coast at the time were Prestwick Airport, Glasgow Airport and Benbecula and they all recorded over 70mm rain on the Wednesday 7th May 1986 however three smaller reporting stations seem a bit more representative, at least it was relativley mild...about ten degrees Sloy (on Loch Lomondside) 133mm over 5 inches of rain Fersit (Yes that Fersit, rain gauge in the Hamlet) 110mm over 4 inches Fort William (reporting station at the Aluminium) works 109mm 4 inches The local topography accounts for the differences, that and the conveyor belt dynamics of frontal physics Smart A$$ It was wet, three days of stonking heavy showers added to it, not nice and all that lovely Russian fallout to go with it they wonder why we're all mad ТОБАГИЦ..

Would one of them be 86 then boys......same year as Chernobyl??? remember that year vividly...Went to Chairlift nice gentle burn section couple of inches of water flowing when I got there, when I left the water was at barrel height, horrendous amount of rain that year, wettest I ever remember. When I got back to the office 4 inches of lovely radioactive rain had fallen on the Northwest of Scotland on the one day, think it was the Tuesday but maybe wrong. Worst of it was it just kept raining that week, lovely Scottish rain

:agree: Just wanted to use the new smiley.. Spot on, it's about preferences I got on with the TLR but find the Beta easier, maybe it just makes up for my mistakes.....

I love 4 strokes, had a TLR till june this year and love evrything about them. Suppose it comes of growing up around four strokes, especially old scramblers, love the noise, love the smell (especially burning Castrol R ), however I find the Rev 3 easy to get on with, straightforward to ride and maintain but I find myself drawn to the new rev 4, new heart in old clothes maybe. Personally one of each might be best, with a nice C15 or a Royal Enfield thrown in for good measure

Interesting twist on this thread but very logical progression. Personally, I can't afford to think about a new anything much as Id love to therefore i'll just look and lust after it and hope I get a shot of one . However if you look at the second hand market there are some fantastic bikes around, let's face it, how many of us just let our bikes fall apart, we all value what we have too much. It's a cr4p situation for those intent on moving bikes on because the values are so flat, especially when dealers chuck year old bikes on the markets at hugely deflated prices. Depreciation is something everybody faces and it's a by product of buying new.

Read something somewhere, probably on here, about the 250/270 Beta, 250/290 Sherco debate. What's suggested is that the bigger capacity bikes were designed to be much sharper for the Indoor scene where instant delivery is a must. On the few occasions I rode my old mans 290 Sherco opening it up could be quite scary, the power was handlable but not the sharpness of it, vicious at times; he couldn't handle it either so got rid of it. Similarly the 270 Beta feels the same, overly sharp and fast for me, my 250 is nice and docile but she can bite back but that's only because I'm a crap rider. Mind you there can be huge a difference between 250's, his 04 250 Beta feels quite flat in it's delivery, my 02 is quite a bit sharper, maybe he has his on pensioner settings......... and if he reads this Santa won't come again this year

The more I think about this the more pi$$ed off I get about it, the unfortunate thing is it's indicative of society today. What ever happenned to fair play and honesty, why does life have to be about puting one over on somebody else...personally won't go to them again....

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick Knoxville. The only "Get the Dealer" bit going on here is the lack of Integrity and Honesty they have shown regarding Andy Grieg and this website. If they want to advertise on here be up front and honest about it the same way everyone else does, if not then they face the consequencies of that, especially after the warnings they have had. If some have had positive dealings with this company then great but you have to question their judgement regarding the way they want to be portrayed to their potential customers. Someone looking for something might not go to that dealer now, as individuals we have that choice. Many years back I got shafted by a dealer, picked up an old Ossa with a knackered big end, needed everything and dealer promised to get them if I paid up front (as you have to), however over a 9 month period, I was blatantly lied to on an almost daily basis by this guy. Needless to say, the ossa ever ran again in my hands and apart from word of mouth the dealer's reputation was untarnished despite hearing many similar stories over the years since. Wish I'd had this avenue then, i'd have named and shamed as well. Andy takes nothing from this site, jeez he's not even a trials rider but he has created a global community for trials riders. Everyone involved in this community needs to respect that, dealers included.

Integrity......adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty It's not something you can sell but in life these days everyone looks for an advantage, for the dealer to do it in this way is beneath contempt. I think most folks on here would back the name and shame, I certainly do, nice one Andy.
