Prefer the 7R... old memories, Big John knows a very old friend of my family and Scottish bike sport in general, Norrie Lamont. Norrie used to race 7Rs and won a manx TT race at some point in the distant past. As a youngster I remember being taken out one Saturday (mid/late 70's I suspect) to see this beast and then heading up the Fairlie Moor road to see it in action (our friends in blue were a little less conspicuous back then). All I can ever remember is the pace this thing went at and the noise, amazing... Back to honda's it has been a love I've had since way back when, the TL 125's a local, Lex Allan had one bored out to 150cc and the frame altered to be more usable off road. From there through the one 's that Rob Shepard had, the Seeleys the TLRs and the RTL's. I got rid of mine for my own reasons but I'd have a Honda again in a shot....if she'd let me...

Part of the reason I changed mine, parts were getting more difficult to find and more expensive. I don't have the wherewithall to "make" special one off bits. The prices look high to me, but understand the reasons many of you have quoted. Much as I love the Hondas I don't think I'd pay that money...(unless it was a mint RTL s version..but don't tell Mrs Slapshot)

I've never been involved at any level in trials apart from doing my little bit for the club but I can vouch for John's frustrations. For the last 9 years solid I've been involved at various level in Ice Hockey. Team Manager, Fixtures secretary, Club Chairman, Team Coach at club (all junior age groups), conference, Scotland, and GB. I've worked with the SIHA closely in that time and know exactly the frustrations John has written. I've spent years being dragged through employment tribunals, equal opportunities councils, Racial equality councils, Local council ombudsman, hauled in front of Sportscotland, MSPs you name itbecause one a*** thinks he's bigger than the club/sport etc. I've been there all for the love of a sport. I've been on the expensive overseas trips, to the expensive hotels (sleeping bag on a school floor next to the rink in Sweden), I've had the free, fancy national team jacket that cost me a donation of

Sorry guys, old arguement on here. Only way forward and to bring trials to a sensible level is NO STOP. FIM and everyone else needs to adopt this other wise the "SHOW" that is WTC and Indoor WTC will get further and further away from we know as trials

Likewise never knock what you don't know. My old granpa tried to get me to join three times before he passed away but I never bit, the miserable old git doesn't even bother trying. An army half colonel mate of mine tried to persuade me a few years ago as well but no dice. Think religion and stuff like that should be personal, don't ram your views down someone elses throat and all that.
