Well this idea is not that bad,try to get a wes silencer,go to a jewlery shop or to sombodey who makes aftermarket keys and let them ingrave the original Yamaha Numbers.I have done that on BMW when i put a Krauser engine in and i needed the US Silencers.I also did it in 1986 on my Yamaha 900 seca(XJ)with a yoshimura 4-1 exhaust. It had a road leagle Termingioni in the papers. No trouble at the MOT.The guy at the MOt at that time only says:Hm,nice slim exhaust. 7. ,also pWell, your bike has been in the shed for ages,so you have do do a oil change. What happend with your clucht is normal for a bike have not ridden for years. The plates have been backed together with the old oil.Try first what i say, oilchange, and then ride the bike a while around changing the gears, using the clutch.Normaly it will be all okay after a few minutes. But also put a new throttle cable in an grease the thwistgrip, that will work wonders. If you need a good and cheap carb for your Yamaha have a look on Craig Malwn's website he is offering a Dellorto for 126 quit or so. I spoke with Craig on easter in Belgium and he said it is all jetted to plug and play.On of ouer mate's from the IOM had it on his Majesty 2 weeks ago in italy and he was very pleased with that carb. 15. Well i hab exactly the same problem as you on one of my TY 250.It was a nightmare.Anyway the result was a aftermarket petroltap(chinese or whatever)an the trouble was after a while it get not enough petrol, especilly on climbs. So,what i would do is,put a brand new original Yamaha petroltap on and your bike will run okay.
