Lee,I agree with you.But the friend,Heinz you also know him Lee ringed me up yesterday and asked me.It was one of these story's:Hey Mike Mr.xxx told me that in the 70's and early 80's they put the 250 reedblock on the 125/175 and they went like hell.I told him that i was competing at thet time on a 175 and nobody told me that.Anyway,that's why i ask here.So my 175 goes very well with the standart 175 reedblock and I'am pleased with that. Lee, there was no alloy tank on this bikes over here in this country when they came out.I think it was only in the U.K.In this country only the 247 had a alloy tank underneth.I'am not shure but it could be that they remanufactured in spain.I know that they make replicas for the Bulto's.May you ask these people. Sound's like your Kickstart spring is broken or damaged.Open the Clutchcover and have a look for the spring. Chrs:Mike

Be careful the brakeplate is magnesium and needs a special system to weld.Magnesium burn's very well,remember taht. Chrs:Mike

@Alan_nc, sorry but if you are going with the parts numbers you will have a proble.Yamaha parts have normaly a different nuber when it is the same part for a different bike. @kimpybualugs, the wheels strait fit,the brakes too,shocks are a bit longer from the 125/175 but will fitt,Fork fitt's but with the yoke.so 175 forke with 175 yoke and 250 fork with 250 yoke.Front Mudgrad will fitt,coil will fitt,Tank(the 250 is alloy and will fit if you put the bracket of the seat one hole back.On the engine you can use Dt 125/DT 175 parts like engine covers.Even the complete engine will fitt.
