  1. I see that Dudley club are running a trial at this ground on the 22nd Jan. I am quite a long way away, but might make the trip. Whats the ground like. Is it a good one? Thanks Dave

Had my entry returned this morning. Never mind. Role on next year.

    Colonial

What did she say? I didn't speak to her in the end, as someone had got some regs sent for me already. Apparently I think they had about 60 entries by Thursday nignt! Our regs arrived Saturday morning and were posted back Saturday morning. Still probably to late.
  4. Don't know where I got the mesh from, I just found it lying around in the garage. I have done four bikes with it now and have none left, so if you do find some let me know where you got it. Sounds like Halfords is the first place to try.

    Colonial

Thanks I heard it was difficult to get an entry, due to it being so popular.
  6. Does anybody know if Cambridge Matchless are running a trial at Abington on the 18th December. I have been told they are, but can't find the regs anywhere. If they are does anybody have the number for the secutary of the meeting. Thanks Dave

    Colonial

Has anybody got any idea when the regs will be available for the Colonial, and who I can get them from. Thanks Dave
  8. On my old 315's and my new 4RT I used ally mesh as well. I take the mudguard off and use a soldering iron to melt it into the underside over the holes. Cheers

    Insuring My 4rt

Collecting my Monty (4rt) on Friday Need to get it road registered. Can anyone recommend any insurance companies. My mate had a nightmare getting any to recognise it when he tried to insure his, this was when they 1st came out though. Cheers Dave
  10. I subscribe, and I have not had a letter yet. That would be a shame. The bike tests don't tell you anything, I think for fear of upsetting the importers, but the rest of the mag is brilliant and the photograohy is spot on. It's the only mag out there that is purely dedicated to trials so this has got to be a bad thing. The company that owns trials world and t&mx are tightening their belts throughout their other publications so this comes as no surprise to me. Just to prove that all trials riders are tight fisted, whats going to happen to my subscription money.
  11. Needs to be a proper trials bike really. I do the Manx and the lakes and a couple of other nationals on the clubman route. Not to worried about the comfort as the green laning days will be few and far between. I think one of the days on the Manx was a 60 or 70 mile lap and after a few beers i'd forgotten all about the soreness. Cheers
  12. I know this topic has come up before, but I can't remember much about it. So I will start it all over again. With all the problems that trail riding is facing at the moment, I am thinking of selling both my Trail bike and my Trials bike and putting the money torwards a new Trials bike. Probably a Mont 4RT. What I am thinking of doing is on the odd occasion that I might still be able to go trail riding using the Mont. I was thinking of changing the gearing for trail riding by just going up to a larger front sprocket. I heard strories from the 6 day last year of Monts doing 50mph on the roads last year with standard gearing. If you can get that kind of speed out of one they are quick enough. Has anybody ever done this, I have no doubts engine wise about a trials bike, they must take more of a hammering in the Scottish and the Scott than a bit of green laning, but how about the practicality side. I realise there will be a problem with fuel, but I am sure I can get round that. The only other downside I can see is trail riding might be a bit to easy on a trials bike as getting stuck is part of the fun. Is what I am talking about a realistic idea or am I just being a ****. Anyone want to buy a DR350? Cheers Dave
  13. I'm going. Looking forward to trying a few of the bikes. Should give me a good idea what I will be spending all that hard earned cash on.
  14. That is a nightmare. Probably the best trial of the year and all that. Got my riding number in the post this morning.
  15. No, I haven't had anything back yet. I didn't even get sent the regs this year, as in previous years. Luckily the nice people at Birketts faxed them to me. Hoping something will turn up in the post in the next couple of days.

  18. Thanks Perce, hopefully they will arrive in the morning then. Cheers Dabster thats worth knowing about.
  19. We tried for 3 years before we got a ride, and we have ridden it 3 times since then. If they are out and we haven't had them yet, I don't rate my chances much. I didn't think it was just me as the guys I ride with haven't had theirs yet either. The only problem is we have to pay the balance on the cottage we are staying in 4 weeks before we go, and at this rate we won't know if we have a ride by then. Its the only way to ensure you get accomodation though. The first year we rode we waited until we had a confirmed ride and we had a nightmare getting in anywhere. Ended up in a <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> miles form anywhere. Nice people, but no BAR!
  20. Has anybody had their regs through for the lakes 2 day yet. I thought they were usually out by now. The accomodation is booked I just need to get an entry.

    Manx 2 Day

Is there a rider list anywhere yet. I had a look on the manx 2 day website yesterday, but nothing as yet. Where is the best place to drink on the saturday and sunday night. Is there one pub where most ofthe riders tend to go. Should be a good weekend, just wish I had made more of an effort to get out on my bike a bit more before hand, going out this sunday, but I fear it is to late.

    Manx 2 Day

How many routes are there? I presume there is three Expert, Clubman and sidecar. Or do the clubmen ride the sidecar route? I am entered as clubmen. Not long to go now!
