  1. My mate is trying to get his 4RT insured for the road, but none of the companies he has tried recognise it. I know that people have got them insured for road use, does anybody know which insurers people are using. Thanks Dave
  2. Stuart Is right, Michelin X11's are road legal in the UK.
  3. Sorry Trials Lad. S***ty as in muddy. Its a top trial.
  4. Your riding the Stonebridge then trials lad. No doubt that will be as S***ty as ever. Make sure you raise your front mudguard when you are fettling.
  5. Thanks, I shall get them in the post asap.
  6. I am sure I read in the TMX calender that the Bemrose was on the 13th March this year. I haven't seen any regs for it yet though. Does anybody know when it is? I know that it is usually at the begining of September. Was it just a misprint in TMX. Cheers Dave
  7. Yeah you will need a speedo for an MOT. The horn can not be a old fashioned hooter thing either, it needs to be able to make a continuous noise when pressed. I use the battery ones you can get from cycle shops. If you still have the switch gear on the bike and it has a horn button on it that has to work, so its best just to take it off.
  8. Does anybody know who I need to cotact to join the Hillingdon and Uxbridge club, and also when they can use there practice ground. I think they are only allowwed to use it 2 Sundays a month. Thanks for your help.
  9. Looked at the 5 day forecast, and its meant to be pretty good. I will still be bringing my waterproofs though!
  10. Stuart and Rich both ride the hard route down here, as you can imagine though the National route at the Lakes is a bit different to 4 laps round Nash Mills! (no offence pete).
  11. Just seen the riding list for the lakes on the front page. There is a load of top quality riders this year. That must be one of the highest national course entries for a few years. Should be a great trial, just hope it stops raining.
  12. We are staying at ringhouse aswell cubby. You definatley need to drive to the pub, but its pretty good. Can't comment on the national route, but I rode Perces 3 day trial last year and I would say that is harder than the lakes. Certainly getting between sections, the moors go on for ever. I was praying for a road just so I could sit down for a bit. You know its hard work when you have to have a break between sections. Riding that made me realise how hard the Scott really must be. Our numbers are 52,53 and 54.
  13. Hopefully they will both turn up in the next couple of days. Did you ride last year Cubby? There was a load of lads from the Isle of man staying in the cottages we stayed in. Its a bit of a pain as you have to sort out and pay for your accomodation before you even know if you have got a ride. Its a cracking trial. I cant wait.
  14. Just got my riding number through this morning. Is anyone else on here riding?
  15. Does anybody know if the Bemrose is on this year. I know it was run last year as the bemose bowl by Man17 as Pathfinders were not doing it. I have not seen the regs advertised in TMX yet and I think that it is usually the 1st weekend in September. Its an excellent trial, so would really like yo ride if its on. Thanks Doogle
  16. Obviously nothing on that anybody wants to tell me about, so i will go practising innstead. Thanks anyway Dave
  17. I want to ride out of centre this weekend (sunday 18th). Can anyone recommend a trial. Looked in TMX but they are all to far away. I live in Bedfordshire and don't really want to drive more than 2 hours each way. Derbyshire area would be good but any where within reason is fine. Thanks Doogle
  18. Cheers Hrc. A caddy it is then. Taking the rear muguard off is definatley worth the hassle. I have had that shape caddy pick up for the last 6 years. should have gone for the van in the 1st place.
  19. When you say old style do you mean the pick up based on the mark 1 golf. you ac n get 2 in that without removing anything. or do you mean the non pick up van that has just become the old style because the new one has just been launched. If you can get 2 in that I will get one of them. How do you get them in, which way round etc.
  20. Thanks for the replys. Thats sorted that out. Cheers Doogle
  21. Thinking of buying a small van in the future, just big enough for 1 bike and riding gear. I am 99% sure that you can get a bike in the following vans but wondered if anyone had used one and how easy they are to strap down. Peugeot partner/Ciroen Berlingo, Renault Kangoo, Vw Caddy. Cheers Doogle
  22. I have got the new beta and there do seem to be a lot of them about. When I was at the phil king last week waiting to start there was my beta and then 6 other new ones and 2 2003 ones waiting behind me. Maybe its because they have the cheapest list price. When I was in scotland last year though there was loads of shercos. They seem to be really popular up north. There is hardly any in the club trials in the south midlands.
  23. If you are talking about mud as deep as this. I have learnt to give it up as a bad job. This was the Phil King last year. I am doing it all again this sunday. Can't wait.
  24. I had an 03 250 pro and have just got an 04 beta. The beta does feel heavier, but is a lot more sure footed than the pro. The riding position seems more suited and it seems to go where i point it. The pro tended to go where it wanted and I followed. It was a good bike to ride though. The build quality on the beta is much better to.
