Yes a brilliant trial, I will definately be making the 440 mile round trip to ride it again next year. Sections were spot on. As said earlier even the crap weather couldn't spoil it.

Hello Andy
If I was in your position I would go for a Montesa. I guess you would probably get a 98 or 99 one for around that sort of money. My 98 Mont was one of my best bikes, until some ****** nicked it. Possibly one of the last Beta Technos I think they went up to 99. I would steer clear of early Rev 3's though, the later ones are brilliant, but I didn't like the early ones. The Betas and the Monts are very well made bikes. Saying that the Gas Gas TXT range, before the Pro came out were pretty bullet proof. I would still go for the Mont though.
All of this is just my opinion and I am sure everybody elses will differ. If you can try and have a go on a few bikes that would be your best bet.
Glad to see you are getting back into trialing. I have done quite a lot of trail riding myself, but what with the NERC bill I can't see any legal future for it.
Good Luck anyway. Hope you enjoy it.
Cheers
Dave

Are you still upset from the Hammers defeat at the weekend?
I'm on my 4RT so my score could be easily double that!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Are you a West Ham fan then Dabster? I was at the Millenium Stadium to see the mighty reds lift the trophy. It was an awesome day. The Hammers fans were a credit to the club.
If I drop in the 80's I will be over the moon. I will be happy just to finish.

Nice one sounds like a good trial. I can't wait. When I entered I was told there was 2 routes, so unless it's changed I should have an enjoyable day.

Me and a couple of mates are riding the Gerald Simpson Trial this week. We are making the long trip from daaaarnnn saaaaartthh, we have even got a <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> booked so we can have a bit of hero talk in the pub the night before.
Looking forward to a good road event. Has anyone on here ridden it recently? Whats it like? Are any of you riding this year?
Hopefully see you there. I'll be the one with a Union Jack on my lid, in a heap on the floor with the bike on top of me mumbling something along the lines of "i hate ******* rocks"
-
They are not to bad at Berko. Just give it a go and ride what you are comfortable with.
Normally in the evening trials you mark each other as there is never enough (if any) observers.
When is it? I may ride myself.
-
Yes, from what I hear it is true. Don't know any details though, sorry.
-
We have had our rider numbers back. Three of us entered and we got numbers 1,2 and 3!
Plenty of section scrubbing on the first day, but a nice lie in on the Sunday morning.

Cheers for all the replies guys, the hebo one looks good I will try and get hold of shirty.
-
Thats not the one I meant, but thanks anyway. I can use the picture off that.

At various trials I have got chatting to a guy from the north east (I think) who rides a Scorpa. He had a alloy fuel tank mounted to the front of his forks where the number plate would go, which he had had made for him. He was definately at the Lakes last year, and I think he was at the Manx. He also brought some engine covers for his scorpa off my mate.
Anyway the point I am trying to get at is, does anybody know who he is? I would like to get a picture of his fuel tank so I can have a go at getting one made. If he doesn't mind me copying him. I am hoping to possibly do a few long distance trials/ a bit of trail riding on my monty and need to carry more fuel safely.
Or does anyone know where I can get hold of one of those old plastic ones they used to make a few years back.
Thanks for your help.

It should be a good day then. At least I can enjoy the trail riding.

Oh dear, this sounds quite hard. Maybe I shouldn't have entered. Graham Jarvis dropped 15! Even though its eased, I may only get through 1 or 2 sections all day. Roll on 5th March.
-
I thought there were 2 routes on the Jack Wood now. Obviously not. Thats put pay to my plan to ride. What date is it on anyway?
-
Yes I will ride it. Missed last year, but have ridden for the last 5 years prior to that. Its a good trial. Not quite as muddy since they moved it to April I understand. Result!
-
Who and where is the farmer in broadway, who allows practise on proper terrain. I'll pay him
-
Thanks, I will give it a go.
-
I remember reading on here once that you could get 2 bikes in the back of a caddy (not the pick up, or brand new one). Someone said you take the mudguard off one, and put one facing one way and one the other. Can't make mine fit. Any tips, do you put them diagnol?
Thanks
Dave

I would love to Andy. Don't think I am up to Scott pace though (i'll still be nursing lakes 2 day injuries), even if I was part of a relay team. Great idea though. If I start training now I might be fit enough for 07.
I will be more than happy to sponsor the TC team.

I haven't seen the regs for the trial on the 29th yet are they in TMX?
I take it the Colmore is only 1 route?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
If you go to the Stratford-Upon-Avon web site you can down load the regs from there. stratford-upon-avonmcc.org.uk./
Yes the Colmore is one route.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Cheers
I will log on

Cheers for the replies, I will raise the mudguard before Sunday.
It's definately a 4rt filter as it has the holes in it for the bolts to go through, instead of the lip to attach the cage on. Cheers anyway, I will probably just run it with the standard one.
-
Sorry Dabster just re read the post. Didn't see the practising bit before.
-
Cheers, Might try Braken Rocks, I have never ridden there. Who is running it?
-
Has anyone raised their mudguard yet on the 4RT. Want to mine for the Hurran on Sunday, but I am worried it will catch on the exhaust when the forks compress. Its never been a problem on my other bikes, but the 4rt pipe gets a lot hotter.
Also I take it you run a Jitsie air filter without the fire proof cage that you put the original in. As my new Jitsie filter does not fit in it.
Thanks
Dave
