  1. Don't know where you are from, but you can get suitably sized letters or numbers from a shop called the motorist centre round here. I think Halfords sell them as well.
  2. Trick Bits do some nice ones.
  3. They are only carbon look. Not actually carbon fibre.
  4. I just wanted to update people. I was going to use the thread I originally started, but it has been closed (Im ot sure what this means or why, did I or someone on the thread say something that they shouldn't?). Anyway I am pleased to say it has all been sorted. The dealer that I used has been very helpful in sorting out the problems, and I am perfectly happy with the bike. Due to the service that I received, I have not been put off buying another bike of the same make, and I would be happy to use the same dealer again. Just thought you might all like to know, as it has certainly restored my faith a bit. Cheers Dave
  5. Thats a result, when I was without a bike none of my mates were prepared to lend me theirs for the Lakes. That may have something to do with my riding though.

    4rt Gearbox

Oh yeah, I forgot about the other minor faults that I caused during that weekend. You know the old saying 'Treat em mean, and they break!' Ok, you can have the ticket.

    4rt Gearbox

Hour ans a halfs job! That means you charged me
  8. Mine did that, broke the end off the gear selector shaft, 7 sections from the end of the Manx. Gutted had to retire. Cost me
  9. No, I have got a new 2 stroke now. This is no reflection on the 4rt, as the bike itself was excellent quality. I did feel let down when I heard about the new 05's being sold cheaply though. The story I have heard is that there is/was 30 new 05's that were being offered to the dealers to sell at
  10. I think it's a nightmare what Appleyards/ Sandifords have done (i heard it wasn't surplus stock, but were recently ordered from Honda). I just sold a 05 4RT for
  11. I noticed on the BVM website I think, that Jitsie do an air box cover for the Rev 3. Are they any good? Has anyone got one. Do they make any difference really? Or are they purely cosmetic? Thanks
  12. The point of my original post seems to be missed. I spent all the time checking it, which is how all these faults were identified. The point is it, is a brand new bike and you shouldn't have to do it! You wouldn't do it on a car. Or a road bike, or a fridge. When things are new they should work how they are meant to. You shouldn't have to make improvements and modifiactions on the manufacturers design just to use it for what it was intended for. This is the case with pretty much all makes of trials bike not just one brand. This one hasn't been any worse than any other new ones I have had.
  13. Had to withdraw, as I didn't have a bike to ride and no one wanted to lend me one! Observed in the end.
  14. Does anybody know what weekend the Reeth 3 day is next year? Will it start on 20/7 or 27/7 or a completely different weekend. Just planning ahead for next year. Cheers

    Hey Beta Guys

200 Beta is a great little bike to ride. Dead easy, and it is one of the only 200's on the market that is pretty much the full 200cc.
  16. It's old than 4 hours. It's been ridden for at least 6! Apart from the stat, a good days trialing though mad4it.
  17. I don't want to name the bike as I have no doubts that the importer will not hesitate to sort the bike out for me. In fact they have even sorted bikes out for me in the past that have been well out of their warranty period. I am annoyed with the lack of preparation on the bike and I will take it up with the dealer. Like Beta Rev3 said though. I wanted to ride the bike, so it's easier for me to sort it out myself. I am in a position where I can either sort it myself or know someone who can. Rode it in a road trial today and it felt great, rode well on it and was pleased. The thermostat packed up though, so another thing to talk to the dealer about tomorrow! I was just trying to make the point that they wouldn't get away with it in any other industry, and they shouldn't in this.
  18. Cheers, it's all sorted now apart from the tyre. But i think that will hold air long enough to get round the trial.
  19. Picked up my brand new bike on Monday, and managed to get out on it for the first time today. Unfortunately a little bit dissapointed. Not with how the bike rides, or the build quality but the checks it did, or didn't have before I got it. Whether it was by the dealer or the factory. Problem one. It wouldn't start. This was down to the bike being so choked up. Fired up and not run properly. I admit I had fired it up previously and ridden it around the garden, earlier in the week, but it had obviously been started and stopped at the dealer and I presume they are fired up at the factory. Surely they should be run up properly before delivery, After 20 min managed to get it running. Problem two. As soon as it starts gear box oil starts leaking out the casings. Turn the bike off, hope it starts again! Lean it on it's side, gear lever off, cover off. The O ring is pinched and not seated properly. Really needs a new one which I will be on the phone about on Monday. Get it to seal of a fasion. Right ready to go 40 mins into my 2 hour riding time, to run it in before I have to be back to take my 2 year old to a birthday party, or risk divorce! Problem three. Just about to leave, to come home when notice fuel is pouring out of the carb. I have to leave the bike with my 2 mates to sort as my wife has already rang and hung up on me once for being late for the party and I am still up the woods. The bike needs to be sorted as I am riding in trial tomorrow. Anyway my mates get there tools out and take the carb off my brand new bike up the woods. Turns out the carb rubber isn't seated properly and one of the floats is catching on it. So all sorted, my mates carry on running MY new bike in. Needless to say one of them falls off. Problem four. Air leaks out the back tyre through the spokes. I have had this problem before, and I know how to sort it but should you really have to on a new bike. I am pretty sure you wouldn't accept it on your new Audi, Volkswagon, Ford or whatever. I have had all different makes of trials bikes and with the exception of one (and even though there was no problems with that bike I feel Iwas still stictched up by them) have had similar problems on all my new bikes. Really my point is surely this is the only industry where people buy a new bike and put up with faults, or get fobbed off by dealers, or have to fix them themselves. I have heard and experienced horrendous stories about people being told to go and by tins of paint from Halfords to fix problems etc. Anyway apart from all that. It is good, and I am confident that these will be the last problems I have with it, but it has certainly tarnished the excitement of having a new bike.
  20. Please ignore this, I have managed to get the address for the brickworks off the internet. For anybody else that might need the information it's Griffs Works Stopes Road Stannington Sheffield S6 6BW The trial starts in the car park opposite. Brilliant event by the way. Looking forward to gently running in my new bike!
  21. I know it starts from the Dyson brickworks near/in Sheffield, as we rode last year. My mate has had the riding list through and he says there is a sketched map on the, but no road name or postcode for the brickworks. Does anybody know this so we can use the sat nav to get there. We obviously weren't paying enough attention last year!
  22. Yes well done Katy. A top result finishing the Scott. A good result in the Lakes as well. You have been beating me in trials for a long time now, but you kicked a freind of mine's a**e for the first time at the Lakes. He is the best rider out of us lot, and takes it quite seriously. So we have been taking the p**s ever since! Some top results this year so far, capped by the Scott. Nice one!
