  1. I presume everyone has got there riding numbers for scotland. I am going up to watch for a bit in the early part of the week and wondered what numbers some of you regular contributors on here are. Kinell, Perce, Ishy, Gizza and anyone else who posts on here. So I can cheer you all on. Good luck to you all. You are braver men and women than me. Hope the weather is good (especially as I am camping), and that you all have a trouble free enjoyable week. Cheers Dave
  2. No 229. Makes a change in 05 i was number 4, and 06 I was no 2!At least there will of been riders through the sections before me on both days, cleaning all that slime off the rocks.
  3. Yes I saw the aftermath of the crash. It happened about a couple of minutes before I rode up on the trailer to finish. Looked nasty. As far as the sections go I found the last half of the trial quite tough. I am pretty crap though. I just didn't have a good day, nothing to do with the sections really though. I just couldn't really get into it. I was riding the same route as the championshio class and wouldn't have a problem doing it again. Having said that my bike is 5 months old, not 25 years. I ride all the classic rounds I can on a modern bike as I like the severity of them, they are challenging enough for my level but there is normally nothing I don't thhink Ihave at least got a chance of getting through (except maybe that one section on Sunday). It was definitely the hardest classic round I have ridden. I am not saying that is a bad thing because when you watch some of the top lads on the old bike they are amazing, but I must admit I wouldn't want to attempt it on an old bike.
  4. Got my number through today. looking forward to it already!
  5. We didn't book the ferry until after we had an entry confirmed last year. We had to take what times we could get but it was ok. As for accomodation, we camped which is what we will be doing again this year.
  6. Looks like the trip is on, a couple of days camping in Fort William and taking in the first 2 days of the trial. Result. Can't wait. Fingers crossed the weather is good. I can't believe my wife thought it was a goo idea as well!
  7. Thanks for the very kind offer. I'll get back to you. Let you know by the 23rd July.
  8. Can anybody tell me the differnce between a bike rack that ges on a car and one suitable for the back of a van or motorhome. I am sure that I have seen them advertised at different prices. I have managed to blag a motorhome for the Reeth 3 day, but need to get my bike up there. The motorhome has a tow bar, and I can borrow a rack off a friend, but it is a Dave Cooper car type. Can anybody tell me if this will fit? Thanks Dave
  9. It's not as well built as the Montesa Nick, but the build quality is very good on the Beta.
  10. Is this a cmping park as in you can pitch a tent there. I am thinking of making a last minute trip up for a couple of days of spectating. Does anybody know of any other good campsites, for tents not motorhomes. Thanks
  11. Yes we are both on modern bikes. Riding the intermediate route. I think it's the championship route for the classics. So I will be getting my butt whipped by people on bikes older than me! Looking forward to it, it's much better since they moved it from February. Some of the conditions we rode in the first few times were atrocious.
  12. Yes I a riding, Ride in it every year. It makes a pleasant change not to have to go off up the M1 for a decent trial. I will look out for you sitting next to the Sherco then. Put me down for a clean!
  13. I used to sell glucosamine, and there is no proof that the product works. You canonly make weak claims on the pack such as may help with joint mobility. In my experience you want to try and get hold of some new zealand green lipped muscle extract, we used to sell that as well but don't any more.
  14. I might ride, not sure yet. Getting grief about jobs that need doing round the house as I have been out a lot on the bike recently, but I will probably turn up one way or another and suffer the consequences for the next week or so.
  15. Don't start that, that is not what the post is about. I am having to bite my lip. I could tell you a few stories about the problems I had with my Gas Gas, but I am not going to start slagging off other makes of bike. If you are so upset with your Beta, just sell it.
  16. I have only ridden Reeth once before, but it is up there with the Manx 2 day as the best trials of the year as far as I am concerned. The organisation is excellent you get 40 different section each day in stunning countryside and the social side in the evening is great. The club really put a lot of effort into organising it and it really pays off.
  17. Isn't that a picture of Steve Saunders. If I was Eddie I would have a picture of me on my video!
  18. I think this thread is making the problem sound a lot worse thwn it is. My 04 250 leaked fuel when it was left at an angle. It never bogged down at all and ran fine. I ride in lots of single lap road trials and I never ran out of fuel on it. ( I did on my 4RT but that is a different story) My current 07 200 leaks fuel when left at an angle, and it doesn't like to start when it's facing down hill, but again it doesn't worry me I just move the bike to somewhere that it will fire, and it always does without problem as soon as it's facing up or level. It runs spot on, so I am never that fussed to do anything about it. I have ridden the Hurran, the Colonial, The Colmore and the Bemrose on it and they are all big lap trials and had no problems with it, always had plenty of fuel to get me to the next fuel stop. Maybe I have been lucky. It is not right that they leak fuel out of the carb, but they do it is a fact, like there is problems with all makes of trials bike. It could be worse they could leak oil out of the crank case!
  19. I have had 2 betas and although both leaked fuel from the carb, never really been a problem. Nice one Nick, welcome to the Beta squad. Glad you took my advice. Not that I am byast in any way.
  20. Yes you will fot one bike easily into a SWB connect. Cheers
  21. They have got a club house with a bar and snooker tables! I am well impressed with that.
  22. Excellent. I wasn't whinging just enquiring. Thanks
  23. Has anyone received the dreaded letter yet, informing them they made the reserve list? Obviously not then! Fingers crossed.
