  1. At the Phil King Trophy Trial on Sunday, organised by Castle Colchester MCC, there was a van with a board outside with lots of stickers on, mainly classic ones I think. I presume he was selling them, but I didn't have time to go and check. I am sure I have seen him at other trials, and he reproduces original designs. I am after some retro/classic yamaha ones that I saw on his board. Does anybody now who he is or how I can contact him? Thanks Dave
  2. Hello John Me and the guys I ride with are fairly local to you. We are from around the Milton Keynes area. We are all riding at the Castle Colchester on Sunday, when I have a riding no I will let you know, so if you see us say hello. Always happy for people to come along if we go practicing, unfortunately there is not many places in our area where we can ride. Maybe see you on Sunday. Cheers Dave
  3. I know the bit you mean, but I am only ever up that way in the week. You can see it has been used by bikes, but obviously being in the week I have never seen anyone on it. I always drive by and think about the potential sections. Some of the exposed roots look quite knarly. There are a few good bits on the left hand side as you head north up the M6.

    Bemrose

Does anybody now when the regs for the Bemrose will be available, and if they are already available where I can get them from? I can't seem to find them on any web sites. I have tried NDYMCC and MAN 17. Thanks
  5. I have stayed there in ssdt week before, and it is pretty much as Andy says. Reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. The rooms are like any other travel lodge/inn countrywide. It is handy having a restuarant and bar joined on and a McDonalds next to it for when you want a healthy option. It is also right next to the Tesco. You do get a few trials folk in there. Steve Colley was staying there when I was there, and we got chatting to him and his dad about how each day went, most evenings, which was good. As Andy mentioned it is not the kind of place where you will not get away with leaving muddy boots or riding gear all around, and would have to change out of them outside if they were really bad I guess. I am sure you will not have any problems drying stuff in your room though. I would definitely stay there again, but will probably be camping again this year, it can't rain anymore than it did last year?!! The good thing about there is that you know it's always going to be up to a certain standard. Not brilliant but perfectly acceptable for what you pay. The only thing with the travel lodge was we could hear the bloke next dorr snoring on a couple of nights. It didn't bother me as I sleep through most things, but it wound my wife up
  6. Up there I think the novice will ride the hard route, but that doesn't mean that it will be easy. the grading system works differntly to how it does down here in the south. I am not sure exactly how it works, but the novices ride the same sections as the top boys like Dan Thorpe, the Hemmingways, Austemhule etc. I am sure I remember reading somewhere once that someone like James Lampkin was still technically a novice within his centre! If you are in doubt I would go with the easy route option.
  7. If anyone reading this attends/attended then your input will be much appreciated. I rode the Vic fo the first time yesterday, and thought it was a fantastic trial. Obviously if there had been the option for a tradiotional single lap road trial that woud be great, but the 2 laps of 20 sections worked well. I thought the quarry was an excellent venue, and there was plenty of potential for sections. I rode the B route which was hard (dropped loads of marks, well into the 100s), but some of climbs on the A route were massive. Although the B route was hard for me, there was nothing that I didn't think that I could have a chance of getting through. All in all I think it was a job well done by the club, ideally a single lap road based event would be better, but as this was not possible I think they did brilliantly. In the past I have never entered the trial as it has always been a single route Novogar round I think, but with the introduction of a second route I could now ride, and if they run a 2 route format again next year I will definitely be back.
  8. Exactly Dan, you took the words right out of my mouth.
  9. Manx 2 Day for me. It is such a pain to get over to, but when you are there it is fantastic.
  10. I am going up on the Friday. Always come away a little bit dissapointed by it, but it is just a tradition and I always look forward to it.

    08 Carb Probs

Took the mudguard off, just loosened the airbow bolts to give it a bit of play. Didn't remove it.

    08 Carb Probs

A mate of mine has got the 08, he has had the carb on and off about 10 times due to him being a bit of a perfectionist with set up, and he has not had any probs. I wouldn't let it put you off enquiring about an 08. They are pretty hassle free. If you ride one and don't like it, that is a different matter. I on the other hand have an 07 Rev 3 200 and have never taken the carb off as it has always run spot on.
  13. I rode a trial last year called the Christmas Pudding Trial, Everyone who rode got a free Xmas pudding (which I ate on the big day) I can not see any regs for it in TMX, or see it on the TC calendar. Does anybody know if it is on this year? It was around the Redditch area, I think that it was run by Redditch club, could be wrong though. It started from a haulage yard that was also full of old diggers and excavators. A great little road trial. I hope that it is running again.
  14. I only ride the clubman route, but it's not to bad. The last group is hard but the rest of the trial is fine. IN the last group it is all stuff that you can have a go at and get out easy if you 5. No gulleys where the only way out is through the section. This and the Hillsborough Classic which sadly had to be cancelled are 2 of my favourate 1 dayers of the year.
  15. Could you do me a favour and tell me if D Giltrow, S Woodfield and R Woodfield are on the list, and what time we start. I presume it starts from the cement works again. Thanks for your help.
  16. Has anybody had a riding list through for the Peak Trial on Sunday? I entererd a while back , but having had anything through yet.
  17. Congratulations on your first trials bike and welcome to Trials Central Probably the best place to get information and maybe a manual would be the Beta importer John Lampkin on 01535 655970. He is a good bloke and all that work there are very helpful. If not just google what you are after and you can probably get a an electronic copy on line, maybe the Beta web site. I think it's betamotor.com Good name by the way, is it a Liverpool FC reference or are you just called Kenny? Cheers Dave (Liverpool FC Fan)
  18. Sounds good. I have been wanting to ride this for a few years. Where do I get the regs?

    Crap Beta

I would run it leaner than 70:1 At least 80:1 and depending on what oil you are using even up to 100:1 I know you are to young to ride it on the road, but you need to get it somewhere that you can give it a proper clear out. All the 4 laps of Nash Mills etc will be catching up with it.
  20. Excellnt News. Well done to all involved. A fantastic effort by a small group of dedicated MB members. After losing Bleak Hall you all kept the faith. You should all be very proud of yourselves. Fair Play to MK council as well. The town gets a lot of stick, but they are pretty forward thinking and provide excellent facilities for most leisure interests, be it shopping, rock climbing or trialing. It is a good place to have on your door step.
  21. No where in Leighton Buzzard to ride at all. There are a cuople of pits but the Police will arrive within the hour (easier than catching real crims) He will need to get some transport. Dabster is right about Buzzards, I can't make the meeting tonight but if I can help in any other way let me know.
  22. Where do I get the regs from, I can't seem to download them off the man 17 site and they are not in TMX?
  23. Hello Has anybody got a phone number for someone I can get the regs for the Hipwell trial from. I can't seem to get them off the Man 17 website, and they are not in TMX. Thanks for your help. Dave
