  1. Seems a retrograde step to me. Probably about staying in WTC and costs rather than the better ride.

    Trans oil?

We switched at the last change to the Castrol Transmax Z as Chris was losing clutch feel as the oil warmed. Not had any problems since. Helpful it's longevity seems to be good.
  3. Welcome to Batley Classic and Modern! http://classicandmoderntrials.club/
  4. Looks good. Would need to clear the Side door of the Primastar but what I had in mind.
  5. We have bought a van to transport the Vertigo. Does anybody have any recommendations for wheel chocks or a way to hold the bike. We did look at one that holds by the foot pegs but aren't sure it works with Trials Bikes. Its called the MX Lock and load. Anybody used it or anything like it?
  6. I used two straps both about 10 metres long. I hooked on to the rear front loop, wrapped it round the rear tyre though the top hoop several times leaving enough to go though the ratchet which was on the rear hook. The Front went from the rear loop. twice around the fork leg though the wheel twice around the outer fork leg and though the ratchet and gently tightened up. The Ratchet goes on the same loop on the crossbar as the strap.I used some Pipe insulation on the rear Upright to stop the wheel paint being rubbed away. Even if it was cut the rear would need them to stand and unravel it before making off. The Bike went as far as Surrey from Leeds and back using this method. It allows the bike to move gently but not dismount.
  7. Chris Found map 4 very useful at Cowling Cragg the other week. His bike was pretty much the only one not trailing smoke once warm.
  8. A different bike to the 2016 bike that preceded it. It's more like a Gas Gas in the way it rides and the Heavier duty rear spring and different linkage are a real improvement over the 2016 for riders who like to stop and bounce. It also is very good on traction as well. Apart from that it looks great, I still have to change the air filter and it just goes when you need to fiddle with a carb when you change altitude.

    Hopping

Chris doesn't seem to have any problem but the Fajado has a heavier spring. He did tighten the spring on his old Combat Camo so maybe that will help?
  10. Try ECCO in Bradford. Never paid anything like that for a Witter from them and they have fitted all of them.

    Mix ratio

Vertigo UK recommend 25ml to 5Litres which is 200:1. We use the Rock Oil Strawberry synthetic and as others have stated when you do rev it there is a slight haze which we take to confirm it is the correct mix.
  12. I would recommend the Witter detachable "flange" towbar. The racks only work with the Flange type with a detachable tow ball. I have used them with the Dave Cooper for 8 years with no problems. The Dave Cooper we have dates back to 2001 and it has been used on several cars. All the bits are still in good if slightly rusty condition as the ones back then weren't galvanised.
  13. I use a Dave Cooper on a V60 which has a similar profile. No you can't open the hatch when it's on. You can loosen it and pull it away and get it open but it will not be secure.

    Vertigo 125

It's a small market but I don't see why not. Billy Bolt really came to fame riding the FI Ossa 125
  15. More likley Gas Gas would not support the effort and wanted him for the Worlds.

    Bar ends?

Apico do one that is integrated into the tube. They call it a Throttle sleeve and it's available in Black Slow and Titanium fast versions.

    Trans oil?

Vertigo UK recommend Rock Oil Gear Pro 75w. Seems to work OK.

    2018 OSSA?

If they could get it together it would be interesting. The Motor suited by lad better than anything else.

    Test Rides

Computing power has moved on since then. You have more power in your phone than was built in to the Space Shuttle. Hence it's more capable of running an engine. We had an OSSA TR300i and that ran well and the Vertigo on the latest maps also runs without problems. As for spares and problems I have had to get a spare mudguard and stickers, the Kick start needed replacing and we had a selector problem. All dealt with within a week.
  20. You can get the ACU form filled in at the trial and send it off or pay a £3 fee for a ACU day registration. Either way you would have been OK to ride. It is possible to fill in the form online if you get a Code from a club you are a member of and can upload a photo for the card.. You only need to register for the ACU though one club but you can join as many clubs as you need to. At one stage in my Son's riding career we had Membership of 10 different clubs riding virtually every weekend.
  21. Ripon tend to do good conducted Trials. They run a few hours before the Main Trial at the same venue. First one will not be until the 22nd April though. I would also watch for Yeadon Guiseley Trials. They do run Conducted Trials at most of their Trials Club and Centre. Horsforth Does have Conducted alongside their Club Trials. The next Club Trials is next Week at Tong and should be a good starter for a youngster.

    Fuel mixture

Been running the Combat Camo at 25ml to 5 litres since August. No Problems. Convincing your self you have 25ml in the fuel is entertaining.
  23. With regard to Vertigo contesting the SSDT, wasn't it the ambition of the Owner to contest the event on his own bike? Gas Gas don't have that ambition or need to compete.
  24. It was pretty plain when Dibs signed for Gas Gas that the BTC was not in his contract. I was not surprised by the announcement as the SSDT does not seem to be on the factories radar at the moment
