Thanks for the info, I removed the flywheel to find the key had sheared, hardly suprising as it was all loose. I set everything according to instuctions and it fired up first kick. I have a early Fantic 125. (TX250) fitted with what I beleive to be a Dansi Ignition system (its stamped into the flywheel anyway) There is a proximity switch (magic eye) fitted at 4.30 o'clock externally of the flywheel. It has two lines on it. One I guess would be the Fire mark (spark) and the other would be TDC. On the flywheel is an arrow which points approximatly (within a degree or so) to a boss (nodule / button / welded blob) on the perimiter of the flywheel which passes the proximity switch as it rotates. I's say this is the trigger. Being a logical chap, I'd hazard a guess that this must line up with the second mark as the piston reaches TDC. But it doesnt. Its about 30 degrees out - The bike does not run by the way, although it does - fire. Are my assumptions correct? Does the flywheel have a key? How do I adjust it? Do I need a special Fantic or Dansi flywheel puller? Anything else?

I have been trying and trying to place an add for the past few days without joy. I just cannot log in. Does anyone ride twinshock trials in north Florida?

My initial thoughts when I saw this bike where WTF. But hey provided the sections are set up for the most basic twinshock machine. then who would care. The twinshock class is simply a back to basics class. A decent rider on the worst machine should stay feet up all day. So why not, if it floats your boat. But yes I'd agree with a step to far.

The CCM was rather nice. I am talking the real CCM with the BSA engine here not the Armstrong model.

Where or which is the cheapest place to get a trials lid. I have looked on ebay and other places. and too be frank I have not spent that much money on my road bike lid. Dont mind looking a c@ck as fashion is not my thing. I just want to be legit. I have an old MX lid would I get away with cutting the chin gaurd off? Are Lids inspected or is it pretty lax?

I had a bimble about in the woods this morning with my daughter. Meet a couple of very very friendly people and now cannot wait formy first event. The sections looked perfect for my ability. I think I'd do ok on the hard course, I'll get a few hours under my belt before I decide.

A few years ago a mate of mine rode his sports bike around with the bottom half snapped off. So he only had the topline of digets left on display. It actually looked like a private plate so he would get away with it. But if ever pulled then its was mearly broken and he'd just need to get it sorted and no fine.

Would it not be better to have it emblazed on the back of your jacket? Is that then legal?

Hi Everyone. I am coming back into trials on a Fantic 200 after a 10 year break, where I last rode a 241 Fantic. My riding level is all 3

I know kilkenney and nettlton as I ran a C90 endurance mx race there a couple of years back but not agges. I have a Fantic 200 that I am going to put back together. Funny story really, I actually had a dream about 6 or 7 years ago that I had a fantic 200 in my parents shed. It was that real that I called my dad in the morning and had him go out and check. I did! Its a real dog but its the basis of my machine. My dad recons I was given it when I was a kid and its sat there ever since. had a similar dream about a DB9 but that didnt come true.

I live about 2 miles south of Birdlip!!! I'll be there but as a spectator. Bike is still a pile of parts.

No issue with wearing one other than I dont have a trials lid. I have full face helmets but no trials lid. I thought it was compulsary in ACU events but still optional in AMCA?

I am making a comeback to trials soon on a twinshock. I now live in Gloucester, are there any clubs which run twinshock classes locally? Do I need to wear a crash helmet these days?

Hi people, my first post. I have been gathering Fantic parts to build myself a cheap and cheerfull 125 / 200 machine. 200 frame, exhaust rear wheel, airbox tank and seat & 125 engine, (bored to 156) front end and other odds and sods. My initial intention was to strip, blast and paint everything and do a nice job. Problem is the missus has me doing DIY and looking after the young daughter + lots of other stuff getting in the way of garage time, not to mention financial constraints. So rather than spend the next year saving up and buying all the necessary parts and missing the season due to the bike not being complete. I have decided to throw it together and use it as is. Rust and all ! and use my spare time to ride it, rather than restore it. I
