October 25, 201114 yr went to a watch supercross on saturday night and was surprised how quick ex a class trials rider jonny walker was ,he failed to make the final but was running top 4 in the heats and giving established riders a hard time.i was thinking has any come from other disiplines(bikes)and done well at trials?
October 25, 201114 yr Author yes sammy miller and nick jefferies were both firstly trials riders then went to road racing and very good at both.

October 25, 201114 yr Kevin Schwantz and Roger DeCoster both started in Trials. Jon As did James Toseland..East Midlands Centre TY80 Champion in 1992 (ish). I know this to be a fact, 'cos my lad won it in 2005 and JT's name is on the trophy and he confirmed it when we met him at Brands WSBK in 2007

But Sammy was a road racer before he turned to trials (3rd in the 1957 250cc Grand Prix in championship). Granty? He said he would have rather been a trials rider but was better at road racing than trials. When he retired from road racing he had the opportunity to indulge his first love.
