Anyone got any tips on how to remove the centre bolt from the clutch so that I can remove the clutch basket?

Everything just keeps moving. I've made a tool to hold the edge of the gear. Tried a normal socket, long bar, impact driver and now an air impact driver, but nothing has budged it. I've also tried left and right hand thread for both.

take the spark plug out and put nylon rope in the spark plug hole ... then slowly turn the clutch until it locks up , make sure all the rope comes back out.

Why not put in gear and put the rear brake on? Don't like the sound of rope in my barrel!

i tried the " put it in gear and use the brake " .. didnt work in the slightest

even remember a bloke using a spanner through the spokes and trying to undo the flywheel nut - highly funny to see 4 spokes go ping as they snapped.

the rope method sounds bad, but it really does work and doesnt do any damage, just dont use a hemp rope as that breaks up on compression where nylon doesnt.

Was the con rod and bearings etc on yours designed to squash ropes as well as petrol and air?

have you tried a spot of heat ? are there different materials in there that will expand at different rates?

2 people is nice, but I have done this a few times now with right foot on brake pedal, and left on ratchet handle.

It`s regular right hand thread. An air gun is the way to go. Just put a bar through a sprocket hole if you just have too.
