daz14 Report post Posted December 23, 2014 Hi everyone, whilst riding my 2014 Evo at the weekend I seemed to have lost the countersunk bolt that holds the kickstart to the knuckle. As it seems these are not listed as a space to by I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the correct size of the bolt is as I'd rather not splash out 90 quid for a whole new kickstart when the one I have is perfectly good. Any help would be appreciated. It's the bolt pictured here
dabba Report post Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) Beta part number 1154521 (costs less than £1), or use an M8 x 16 flanged bolt, not a countersunk one! Buy a spare and use threadlock on the new bolt.... Edited December 23, 2014 by dabba
lineaway Report post Posted December 23, 2014 It`s got to be a 5 or 6 x 10 or something like that. Just try a regular bolt to get the thread size right.
montman Report post Posted December 23, 2014 No Dabba that is the bolt that holds the kick start onto the shaft. Beta do not list this bolt/screw that holds it together at the knuckle where the spring and ball bearing are separately.
thats_a_five Report post Posted December 23, 2014 Can you simply take the lever to a local hardware store and try some different bolts until you find one that fits?

worldtrialchamp Report post Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) can use the screw from the sump guard/bash plate...same part. Here is a pic, for a Rev3 but same part on EVO Edited December 23, 2014 by worldtrialchamp
zerorev3rev4 Report post Posted December 23, 2014 hes after the bolt that you can see in the pic ( not of his own lever ) not the one that holds it to the shaft
dadof2 Report post Posted December 23, 2014 It is an M6 x 25 Hx socket CSK HD screw. M6 x 30 are £1.89 for 10 (free P & P) on Ebay, I bought some recently so 25 long should be a bit cheaper. Get 8.8 or 10.9 strength.
lineaway Report post Posted December 24, 2014 This bolt not the other bolt.
thats_a_five Report post Posted December 24, 2014 You aren't planning on reusing that broken kicker are you? A new bolt will not hold it together.
lineaway Report post Posted December 24, 2014 I cannot tell you why I have saved it for ten years. But I could not believe how many people replied to the OP with the wrong part. My bolt is just fine. That came from the first ride out of the box!
