    Show Us Your Ty

    My first twinshock ty175
  2. Don't like the 2018 models, the 2013 to 2016 models looked good though. The new factory bikes look nice too, should have a white or blue frame though. A lovely twinshock has come up locally, so I'm going to go down that route this time. Thanks for everyone's input.
  3. Considering getting a trials bike again, I've had a rev 3 before, not familiar with evos. Thinking about a 2016 factory model, any common faults/ things to look out for? What sort of price to pay for a good condition used bike? Thanks

    The truth hurts
  5. Just a short video of a trial I organised with the help of a few friends
  6. Hi guys, a video of a trial I set up, with the help of a few friends, enjoy https://youtu.be/t0RvtF6B-ms?t=63
  7. I've recently gone from a 4rt to a 13 gasgas 125. Love it, very light, easy to manage and power doesn't seem to be an issue. Would recommend a 125 for sure.
  8. I'm left handed, is this a good excuse for poor throttle control?
  9. My new to me 2013 125 pro
  10. Apico, I think I've bent it a little though, hence why it looks a bit shorter than the stock one

    Bar heights

I've got a pair of 6 inch renthal bars on my montesa, I think it had 5 inch dominos on it before, a lot more comfortable with a 6 inch rise
  12. I'm a lot more careful now, learnt my lesson lol. Thanks
  13. Well, these trials won't be championship rounds, self marking or groups will be the way to go. There are no trophies involved, so people will only cheat themselves by cheating. The idea is to keep us laying out sections in the summer so we are not out of practice doing it by the time our championship rounds come up again in September and for people to have an evening of fun. We have a really good group of observers, just want to give them a break over the summer.
  14. To improve my confidence and to learn some technical skills. From there, riding a strange motorcycle with no seat, on a Sunday with a few friends between some coloured flags is somehow a lot of fun
  15. We will probably space each trial out by a month or so, gives us time to set out some new sections and do some cutting out. We really want to make the best sections we can and do something fresh for every trial. Maybe leaving a board at each section and asking people to take turns as observer would be good, maybe some riders would see a different side to the sport if they have never observed before. Thanks for your input. Thanks, we will probably charge £10 an entry too. We are a bit out of the way where we are, so one trial a month would probably be our best bet.
  16. Our club is amca, so not sure what the rules are concerning practice events. I do have concerns it would be a bit of a free for all. We run 10 sections 4 laps for our championship rounds. We tried one evening event last year 6 sections 6 laps, unfortunately some riders lost count of the laps they had done though! Queuing didn't seem a problem, probably because we only had twenty riders, I can see your point that it would be a problem if we had more entries. Maybe 3 laps of 8 sections would be better and keeping the course relatively short. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it. Thanks 3 laps of 8 sounds like a good format, would like to stick to the three routes, its nice to cater to each level, cheers.
  17. Hi guys, I've started helping my local club set up trials, done 3 so far, going pretty well. We are thinking of hosting 3 evening trials in the summer, but aren't sure what format to do these trials. Ideally we would like to give our regular observers a break in the summer. We were thinking of running these events as practice trials, the main difficultly would be stopping the events turning into a bit of a free for all. We were thinking 6 sections 6 laps. Maybe riders could observe each other or go round in a group and take turns observing each section. I just wanted to ask if other clubs have done similar events? How do you set them up? I'd really appreciate some help with ideas, thanks EDIT: with our main championship trials we usually run 3 routes, sportsman, clubman and expert. Probably would follow the same format for these smaller events
  18. I can think of a few riders I know who would benefit from an electric start. Direct oil injection on two strokes. Stronger frames and components even if it adds some weight, I like gasgas and sherco bikes but how thin the parts are in places make me wince. An optional seat and tank unit as standard on all the makes. Maybe the fuel tank lower, airbox higher. More preferences than innovations I'm afraid
  19. Narbeth classic club are hosting their new years eve trial at west atheston farm, narbeth, Pembrokeshire, wales, 31st December 2016. Trial begins at 10.30, 3 routes, sportsman, clubman and expert. Seperate conducted route for youths. £15 to enter. 10 sections 4 laps. All abilities welcome, a great sport, come and get involved. Observers wanted, soup, tea, coffee and mince pies available.
  20. That's possible, I'll check. Anyone know where I can get new bushes? They were a bit worn upon inspection
  21. Fork seals leaking like mad after a few rides. I've tried cleaning them and using a very thin feeler gauge to clean the oil seals, hasn't improved the situation. I'm not sure where I have gone wrong. I put in the amount of fork oil stated in the manual. We used a bit of aluminium pipe to drive the seals on. Is it possible to fit them the wrong way round? I pulled the seals down the fork, are you supposed to take the bush and locking collars etc at the bottom of the fork slider off and pull the seal up? Any help would be appreciated, thanks
  22. Thanks guys, with an extra pair of hands we've changed the seals, feels great to have done the job. Got the bolt off with an air tool, thanks for your help
