  1. Here ya go.... Stones, logs, barrels, tyres - usually free or cheap? Slopes are handy for banking up some earth to make steps / drop offs (last pic) Cheers, GJ

    Reliability

My last 3 bikes have been Gassers and apart from a failed reg/rectifier on the 06 they've never really let me down. My 05 Rev 3 cost me with a failed stator and my 04 Sherco big end bearing gave me a £400+ parts bill. I personally think it's luck of the draw when it comes to reliability of any machine used in anger? Most modern bikes all seem to be very good compared to those of yesteryear?
  3. Buy a Beta Alp 200 and if you don't like it you can sell it to me as second hand ones are pretty scarce
  4. This might help you decide...... http://www.trialscen...h-oil-question/ ........as for the best oil to use - buy the best you can afford but even the cheap stuff will suffice. Remembering to add some to your fuel is the most important bit?

    Keihn Carb

You can now get Tesco Clubcard points at Esso stations. Would this suggest that it's the same fuel as at the Tesco pumps?
  6. Up here in Scotland in the summer we tend to wear the lighter, more breathable clothing ....
  7. I'm liking the ingenuity of buffed rubber and patch adhesive but, for a better and more durable solution try using a PU sealer / adhesive? I've used Tiger Seal (or similar PU adhesives) on tyre cuts, slashes, rip and tears over the years with very good results. In fact this stuff has a multitude of uses from fixing boots, sealing airboxes, sticking handlebar grips, affixing mud flaps etc. Probably better for your health than attacking old tyres with an angle grinder? Shame it has a limited shelf life!
  8. My 2011 rear m/c has also just failed and GG UK still don't have any repair kits (more than a week now). Does anyone know if I can retro fit with the old style master cylinder and remote resevoir? I've got two club trials and a national coming up one after the other and would like to take part in them all with some confidence that my rear brake aint gonna go tits up again?
  9. I reckon you may be looking at this - http://www.ebay.co.u...9#ht_310wt_1170 If you buy it and don't like it give me a shout
  10. Get Yer Lean On...................

  11. Rainy day at work so thought I'd watch this again and reminisce of an excellent weekend. Didn't catch my best angle though John - check out the fat observer at 14:10 GJ
  12. Don't come off the back doing a fast wheelie or this could happen............ BAMCC Scottish National 2 weeks ago at Craiglash Oooocha GJ
  13. Bienvenida a los ensayos central de mi amigo Te deseo lo mejor. (Provided by Google translate?) GJ
  14. Hi Noob, for that kind of money you'll be hard pushed to get anything much better than a 315 like this one on fleabay? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Montesa-315r-Trials-Bike-/321066699709?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item4ac1110bbd Unfotunately, whatever you buy on your budget could be in need of a bit of work? An £800 bike could cost you twice as much if you know what I mean? The best thing would be to have someone who has a bit of experience and knows trials bikes to come with you to view the bike. There are plenty good old bikes out there to be had but there's also plenty that'll cause you grief - be patient and good luck. GJ
  15. Indeed so Sir, your grammatical observation on correct punctuation deserves praise but I do believe the fall of the Empire was the fault of Luke Skywalker and his band of rebels and not due to the misuse of an apostrophe? GJ
  16. Sorry mate, forgot you need to vote before you you can see the results! DOH Just go back and vote for vee rubber or have a guess, I can't see one vote swaying it? GJ
  17. Hi Diesel, have a wee looky here....... http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/31246-tyre-choice-the-poll/ GJ
  18. Found this old mag in a collectables shop, the front page alone made me buy it but then I found some other items of interest................ Spiffing or what? GJ
  19. Thanks John, Had the SACU given us a more detailed explanation in the letter they sent then assumptions wouldn't be required? The extra fiver certainly won't stop the majority from attending events I'm sure? I'll certainly still be paddling through the sections next season in the same entertaining manner as always :-) GJ
  20. Indeed John, but by whatever means the poster has spoken on behalf of Scotland's clubs, not as an individual? There is no mention of who pays for what, identification of land use, taxation, etc? I fully understand where you're coming from but defamation of the actual topic in a political manner does not produce the answer seeked? In a nutshell, us Jock trials enthusiasts want to know why we're compensating for an MX change and loss of revenue to the SACU? GJ
  21. All other Motorcycle Motorsports (trials and enduro being the exception), rely on a fixed venue where all costs can be accounted for and spectators (and related revenue) can be easily averaged? As already mentioned, the prices for riding trials on private land are constantly negotiable, so how is this factored into the equation of costs and losses relating to the SACU? Gaining land owners consent these days is by far the average trials clubs greatest desire, should they (the land owner) impose a relative cost per venue then surely this is acceptable (within reason) to prevent the extinction of the sport? To most clubs, gaining consent to ride on land is hard enough these days, if we had the same (constant) comforts of road racing, speedway and mx tracks then our concerns as a whole would not be justified? Unfortunately, every trials club incurs different annual costs for land land use and therefore may not perhaps sustain the new £5 increase per event? We already suffer from small numbers at what I would consider, low costs, will this annual increase deplete our already dwindling numbers? Trials riding has always been renowned as the cheapest Motorsport. If costs in this endangered sport can't be kept relative then it will be remembered as the last cheapest motorsport? What next - non stop rules at a world level? GJ

    Over Fueling?

Just out of interest, what type spark plug is in it? GJ
  23. While hiking along the coast yesterday morning I noticed an ethnic extremist slip from the cliffs and fall into the sea . He was struggling to stay afloat because of all the explosives he had been carrying. If he didn't get help he'd surely drown. Being the responsible sharing caring Scotsman I am, and abiding by the law of the land that requires you to help those in distress, I informed Police and the Coastguard. It is now 4 p.m., he has drowned, and neither authority has yet responded. I'm starting to think I wasted two stamps.
  24. First and foremost, make sure you are signed in to your account and secondly, without trying to sound like a complete condescending a*se but does the 'delete' button not work? This option should appear alongside the 'edit' button when you open your album? GJ
  25. I repaired a large gash like that in my tractor tyre years ago with some polyurethane sealant and it's still perfect today. Couple some PU sealer and a big patch inside and you'll be fine. The sealer I used is actually called 'Tigerseal' but if you were to ask for Tigerseal in Kenya you might get something totally different? GJ
