What colour is the plastic that surrounds the fuel cap ? It looks like it may not have been modded.

Find the parts book you need online ( this took me less than 5 minutes ) figure out what part numbers you need, then search for each part by number This is not the easiest but you should find what you need. Good luck. -
Lemur, I hope you heal up quickly. Cheers Reggie

One thing I would check is after you put the float bowl back on to the carb, make sure you can hear the float assembly rattle when you shake the carb it is possible to have the float assembly to hang up on the overflow tube -
Tech supposedly makes a shock to fit the Gold model TRS

Take the clutch lever off and see if the issue persists.

Those parts do spin, but usually not easily. I believe these are the same forks as were on the Beta Zero / Gara from 1991 to 1993. I am pretty sure they were also on some GasGas bikes in 1993.

Take off the header pipe off and measure the bore 72.5mm for 250 if my memory is any good

I believe the stock carb for the 1974 TY250 was a Teikei Y26P
