  2. Check all of the above suggestions first. Then: Has it had a big bore kit fitted? 143cc or 163cc? If the ticking is unusually loud then it could well be that the balancer weight (part 9 in the attached schematics) is hitting either the skirt of the new barrel, or, less likely is hitting the skirt of the new piston, when this balancer weight is near TOP dead centre and the piston is at BOTTOM dead centre. If you look closely at this weight it has a small flat spot on the left hand side of the weight. It is this which hits the barrel's skirt, unless the skirt has been shortened by 2 or 3 mm at that point. The same for the piston, when it is at bdc and the balancer weight is near tdc. Make sure that you reduce both sides of the piston by equal amounts. https://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-ybr125ed-2006-3d94-england-1e3d9300e1_model43811/partslist/0003.html

  4. Just picked up a brand new Beta EVO 300 Factory with kick starter on left side of motor. This is a new one for me. Being 65 years old my kick starting oomf aint quite what it once was. Tried to start it today, no luck. I am looking for some tips. Is it better to stand over it and use right leg or stand off it and use right leg? Thank you
  5. I've not had to work on the steering bearings on my 348 yet, but 1970s Spanish bikes usually have a light interference fit between the stem and the yoke. I just went and looked at mine and it looks the same as yours, which looks like there is a head on the bottom end of the stem. For an interference fit stem, clean up the surface of the stem above the bearing seat. Set up some way to push the stem downwards through the yoke (press/vise/leverage). Heat up the yoke and the bearing. Yoke to just over 100 degrees C. The bearing can be made hotter but be careful to avoid overheating the aluminium. To maximise the effect of the heating to loosen the fit, minimise the heating of the stem. Push the stem down through the yoke and the bearing.
  6. Hi I could do with some advice please on how to remove the steering stem from the bottom yoke.348 mont. Thanks Martyn

  8. Ps You can take off the flywheel cover. Grab a hold of the flywheel to feel any movement. If you feel any up and down movement, you need new main bearings and seals.
  9. The jet tower gasket can leak and cause all kinds of poor behavior. That`s the piece inside the carb with torx security screws. The original gasket can shrink. The mating surfaces are not very plumb. Some people have good luck filing the surfaces flush. Sometimes just a new gasket fixes the issue. You can also search you tube for ways to test your carb.

  11. I believe they’re in the UK. Their website only states where the copyright originated. “registered at Companies House in England and Wales. Registered at CPM House, 10 Works Road, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, SG6 1LB, UK” it also states that the prices will include “VAT”…so, I’m guessing the UK again.
  12. Ron, Thank you for the information on this paint supplier. Are they in the UK or somewhere else? Also, a US Bultaco parts supplier, Hugh's Bultaco in New York state, thinks the correct paint color is what he calls "Hugger Orange." I believe I will order the smallest quantity of the Bootlace Yellow and see what it looks like sprayed out.
  13. Yes completely suitable for an adult to ride, the difference between the Majesty and Mini-Majesty is a slightly longer top tube with a slight rearward bend to the two downtubes in front of the cylinder. You might choose to lower the footrests as like most bikes from that time they are too high. Good luck they are a good bike.
  14. Thanks for the responses and the reassurance. I may well be the owner of one of these shortly.
  15. Pauls320 thank you so much for your comment. If I did not inspect head grooves I would of slammed it back with a new o-rings and afterwards would be like🤔 I was suspicious though, because when disassembling I figured by the head bolts that the head was done before, and when I inspected o-rings they were flexible an in like new condition. Previous owner must of bin frustrated for not fixing it and sold it
  16. What carb is on the bike? Should be a pwk, but old enough it could be anything.
  17. This bike is based on a 125 frame , the 125 was a very popular TY version in France as it was a road going Trial motorcycle , the frame had a lot of extra weight because it carried lots of extra lugs and brackets to take all the street bike rubbish like indicators , ignition switches ,battery etc unlike the much lighter competition version that the TY175 was/is . Here is some inspiration if you want to take ownership further. https://youtu.be/b2fMtHB2bv0?si=EsqKQCv7u5ZNV
  18. I highly recommend the Trial Solutions levers and they do fit Beta. You’ll love them!
  19. It’s called Bultaco Bootlace Yellow and you can order it from here: https://www.rsbikepaint.com/oem-matched-motorcycle-paint-colour.php?locale=en-US&rs_colour_order_ref=37337
  20. Yes, it would! It’s standard size just a smaller engine.
  21. I have found two, next to a muffler mount (photo1),it was almost invisible util I started digging into it.... next one in line further away from muffler mount (photo2).
  22. New throttle put on, cable oiled and free as a daisy

  24. Great point! Thank you for advice. I will inspect. I was just checking if the head is flat, while waiting on o ring shipment. Managed to take a head off no problem. Accept Ossa manual says that the bolts are T20 and they are T25. Also wanted to comment about a muffler. I mean, even though I really respect Ossa's designe team work in many ways, making muffler into a prying tool for an engine head is such a bad idea. I am seriously considering doing some mod to dissconect muffler fron an engine.
  25. Does anyone have any info on the dimensions of the TY125 majesty. Would one of these be useable by an adult.
  26. I am nearing completion on the restoration of an Alpina model 138 and am looking for the paint code, or the name of the orange/yellow paint on the side covers, and the swoosh on the tank. Any assistance or insight is appreciated.
