can anyone tell me where to get a suitable rim to lace to a ty rear hub to convert to tubeless, I have contacted two different vendors who both say that there is not a rim available as the spoke angle is wrong ? I am sure there are people out there running a tubeless rear wheel (just for trials that allow it), so any info appreciated, also don't think spoke angle is hyper critical, have been told that spokes won't seal, surely they don't need to seal it's the rim tape that does that and as long as spoke tightens reasonably in rim it will be ok with perhaps a couple of checks for tension after it has been ridden (or am I wrong ?)

My clutch is slipping on my 250 mono, and there seems to me no more adjustment i can make so i suspect the clutch friction plates are worn out. i have seen these plates on ebay for £25 about half the price of any others ive seen http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220994976060?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_1328wt_1037 does anyone know if they will be any use? Cheers Lewis

A good few years back (about 5-6 years ago) I sold a TY Majesty (mini iirc) on eBay, and I'm looking to trace the bike just out of interest to see what's happened to it. I'm hoping the owner's on here. Here are some definable details: - The bike was located at my parents house in Bradford - Engine was a 125cc bored out to 175cc - The bike sold on eBay for ~£940 - The person who bought the bike sent his son to collect it - There were no decals on the tank at the time if i recall correctly Would love to find out what's happened to the bike so if the owner recognises the above details please get in touch. I have some images somewhere I will try to dig them out so eve…

I am just about to go ahead with upping capacity of my 175 majesty to 200cc (199 cc with a 250 + 0.75 piston) only thing I need sorting now is the process of bushing the piston to accept the smaller gudgeon pin from the 175, anyone done this or know just how to go about it, I have lathe and reamers etc so making a bush is no problem, just wondered how the bush is fixed in the piston, any comments help appreciated.

I have a manual but its in Japanees (got it off ebay and the bloke still selling them dispite my complaining so dont buy one) so have no idea what weight fork oil to use and how much in each leg. Also should i put a different weight oil in in relation to my weight to make a differance? (16st) Thanks in advance for any help or info.

Hi All, I have purchased a 1978 TY175 that had sat in a garage since the mid 80's and wasn't running. The petrol tank was a solid mass of muck which I cleaned out as well as the carb and the bike started second kick so that was good news. The bike hasn't done many miles, 800, but it has been used for trials I think as the standard mods have been done, oil tank and lights removed etc. These must have been taken off straight after purchase as they are all brand new in a box so my question is, should I restore it back to factory with the lights all back on it or not? I have had the tank resprayed so far and planning on getting the frame powder coated and any parts that r…

Hi My Yamaha TY 125 reveils some problems during shifting; for example a shifting pedal that doesn"t return. It also takes a lot of effort to change gear... I just reassembled my engine, WITH renewed gear mechanism in the small compartiment on the left hand side. Do you think I should replace all springs which are linked to the selecting mechanism? Thanks! Nils

I am still having trouble with my kick start locking and not returning. Should the kick start shaft (and kick start lever) be able to move in and out by approx 1/2 inch. When the kick start does not return I need to tap it with my boot and knock it back into the cranck case a bit then it returns. Is this usual or am I missing a spacer?

anyone done or heard of this conversion? it looks pretty close to me and would give you a rear disk and tubeless rim if you use the tyz wheel (which for me would be the point of the conversion) thanks Ben

My dad has just took the exhaust off my yamaha ty250s exhaust to unchoke it a bit in an attempt to gain more power but he isnt sure whether he should repack it or not. Do any of you guys know how important it is to pack it and whether or not it will effect anything other than the noise suppression?
