I know a few of you boy racers have got scooby's on here, so thought I'd try and trawl your collective knowledge banks. If for instance a middle aged mate of mine were to come across a mid life crisis some time soon, and go out to buy a parallel import Scooby WRX would you have any guidance. Any disadvantages to these parallel imports. My middle aged mate tells me they are imported from Cyprus and sold by a fairly large dealership somewhere near me (who also provide service and backup). The three year warranty is apparently fully valid in UK. The trade in price after a couple of years seems to close in very quickly on the genuine UK vehicles. Any info for my poor old…

And who said the Irish were daft?! Old Sean lived alone in Northern Ireland. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, Mick, who used to help him, was in an English prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament: Dear Mick, I am feeling a mite down because it looks like I won't be able to plant me potato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me. Love, Dad A few days later he received a letter from his son: Dear Dad, For CHRIST'S SAKE, don't dig up the garden! That's where I bu…

I went to see the new Michael Jackson Movie this morning, I must say that it was really well worth going to see. Most of the footage was taken during rehearsals for the tour he was to make this year. He looks and sounds just like he did 20 years ago and the footage from the new Thriller video was superb. I know it won't be everyones idea of enjoyment, but I had a really good time. I left with the opinion that the tour would have been a massive success had he not died. Well worth going to see. Pete

  15. Hello, Being a total noob to the sport/lifestyle of trials, I am interested in all of its aspects. One thing I have noticed is that there appears to be a distinction between U.S. Trials and European Trials. What are those differences? Thanks, Jimbo

On my recent 2500mile rounder to FL and back, I did not spot any trains. I did, however spot this. Much larger! Cannot get it all in the viewfinder! Thought I would share a few pic's! It is the USS Alabama, sitting in Mobile Bay. There is a fair amount of history about this 60 something year old ship. Suffice it to say that as something of a WWII history buff myself, I find it difficult to miss an oppertunity for a tour. Yet I need half the day minimum to rush through things here. Cannot do it justice, yet I sent the wife off on a shopping spree just to buy some time! And as an engineering study, these massive beasts stand alone. How all this was done via sliderule shal…

Oh dear, thought it might be quite good, but Chris Evans !!! I thought it was going to be the all new TG. All they did was carry on with the old format with nothing new, or better than before, in fact some of it was cringeworthy. I think clarkson and co will not be too worried.
