Just bought a tlr 200 with apparently the wrong carb. It is a keihin but I think perhaps too big. After the bike has run for a short while it chokes up. Can anyone let me know what carb I need and where I might get one from? Also what jet size it should have etc. Cheers

Got my TLR200 tank back from being sandblasted. They didn't sandblast the filler on both sides of the tank so I decided to remove the filler myself and this is what I found on the worst side. Whoever had done the 'repair' had used filler to bung up both holes!! Can these holes be repaired properly? If so, what's the best way of going about it? Does David Silver still sell TLR200 reflex tanks?

Hi all, I need to find a workshop manual or a parts list for a 1986 and a 1989 RTL250 honda. Also need to know if someone can help me to find an original headstock and bearing set, as well as levers and lever perches. Finally I'd also like to find a new muffler... and perhaps a lighting kit. I have a '74 TL125 that I have been working through. I am working on the front end now and have replaced the fork seals and oil. No leaks now but the front end is still too soft. I used 10 wt Bell Ray fork oil at the amount in the book (don't remember the amount off hand). The bike is all origional and has two springs in each fork. The top spring is seperated by a washer from the lower spring and is about 4 inches long. What is the proper way to add some preload to the forks? I thought about replacing the top springs with spacers but then I fgured it might put the lowers in a bind at full compression. I suffered an intermittant missfire during a trial at the weekend. Bike started first kick as usual - nothing seemed untoward. Disconnected kill switch then changed plug but to no avail. Finished trial and decided to investigate further. The plug was extremely black & sooty which suggests either weak spark or rich mixture but since bike starts ok the second route was my first thing to investigate. The carb aint brilliant, there is a fair bit of wear on the float valve & float pivot so these are being replaced as a matter of course. HIya.. Found a Honda here (minus fuel tank and seat unit) on the frame badge it says TLM 260RF Cant find any info on the internet of this model. Can any of you tell me anything about it?? Would it be worth trying to get hold of to restore? Would I be able to get hold of parts? Thanks in advance for any help. What, other than the obvious engine size, differences are there between the TL125 and the TL250? I own a '75 TL125 that the previous owner competed in vintage trials with. I am not a competitor; I simply use it to learn new riding skills and easy trail riding. It is extremely low geared and easy to turn and balance. The suspension is very soft and spongy. I bought it simply because I got back into riding after a 20 year layoff and I always wanted a trials bike. I wanted a bike to ride with my sons. However, as I have learned more about Honda trials bikes, I REALLY like the looks of the TL250. I would like a little more power that the 250 could give me. Are there diffe…

Need some advice boys, Stripped the engine down in my tlr last week and then spent a couple of hours crying. Main engine seals, valves, piston, you name it, it's knackered, I'm not chuffed. Main thing it needs is the piston replaced and a rebore. Someone has said in the past that the barrel can't be rebored or honed to take out imperfections, is this true? the barrel is not too bad to my eye, Ive seen a lot worse. The piston had worn itself to about 10thou too small so it's been slapping around all over the place, half inclined to say it were too small in the first place!!! Having recently bought a 1974 tl125 it seems lacking in power, need a manual for the engine, would a Haynes CB or CG 125 suffice, or an alternative Honda engine? wheels & frame not a problem as these only need a good clean etc.

Has anybody had any trouble starting their TLR, Seeley etc when hot? I did my first trial on the Seeley a couple of weeks ago and it ran fine for the first lap, stopping to inspect each section and then starting it again. However, at the end of the second lap, by which time the engine was well warmed up, I stalled it on a section(my fault) and could'nt restart it. After a long push back to the van, you can guess what happened, it started first time. I got going again, but it was fading on sections at low revs, and it cut out again. Retired first time out, not a great start! (Didn't mention the puncture I had to fix after the very first section). I've since stripped …

Does anyone have the spoke dimensions to hand for a TLR250F - rear wheel ?(although I will replace the front eventually) Who do you recommend as a supplier - idealy who has the dimensions on file? I have a new rim to build onto the wheel but its easiest to leave the bike with the wheel in it & tyre on it for the moment - hence my question. Gordon

has anyone out there ever fitted crank seals to a Honda TLM 250, the generator side (left) doesnt seem to want to fit from the outside does it fit from the inside (full engine strip)seems a bit rash or am i losing it. Thinking of being a brain surgeon it must be easier

Hi all. I've taken a lot of Honda trials picture from this site for my own enjoyment. I was thinking about starting a website just for some of these photos. Problem is I don't know if that's OK with the rightful owners. I won't put anything on there that shouldn't be. It's obviously not for anykind of profit. I think I'll just put them up and if you own one of them you can ask me to take it off, give me more information to add, or just ignore me. I'll give this post a little time for comments too. Anybdy got a an old pair of Honda TLR200 Reflex or 200R Black Steel Handlebars lying about in the garage or workshop. Must be straight and undamaged, paint condition/slight rust etc not important. Send my a PM and we'll sort out a price........ TIA

I've now completely stripped my TLR200E and am about to get various bits of it sandblasted, vapourblasted, powder coated and polished. Does anyone have any colour photos they could post showing what an original TLR200E (the one with the red mudguards/fenders and the red/white blue tank and side panels) looks like on both sides so I know what I'm aiming for. I promise to post pictures of the finished article.
